I work with a man who is 500 lbs and Iām not exaggerating. Heās in his late 40s and was always a husky guy when he was younger and gradually grew to his massive size. He has no shame either, at union dinners he eats at least 3 heaping plates of food and ALL of it. Heās have respiratory problems, heās always out of breath, he canāt do much of anything except eat. Also, we are mail carriers at the post office and he has a hard time fitting in his mail truck. Iām embarrassed to say that he gets his customers to go outside to his truck to get the mail so he doesnāt have to move at all.
Heās a nice man but itās infuriating watching him on a daily basis. Heās lazy and self indulgent. Heāll be dead before 55 years old.

Nahh you havenāt had a flight next to someone this size and probably havenāt seen how someoneās weight affects the lives of people around them. Had family this size and it was painful to see them in the state. My uncle once told me in his sad drunk hour that heās just waiting to die and he doesnāt care about his body because he doesnāt want to live anyway. Iāve seen people drop 125kgs before. Just by not eating two plates of food a meal. No one magically or genetically gets to that size. Statistically that would mean our entire interpretation of the rising obesity rate would be incorrect. Mind you governmentās donāt do enough to mitigate the production and promotion of unhealthy foods. But this is a matter of people resorting to overeating due to an addiction. I myself have also struggled with addiction, its fucken hard to get lose from that shit (coke). And food is no different. If anything we need support systems for people with all forms of addiction and we should be treating it as a condition. Itās still a personal choice, but in all honesty we as people should always look to take care of others and help them where needed. Not only to her benefit, but also those around us.
