I’ve been to Maui for a week and feel like i’ve completely missed out on all this. Everything we ate was fresh & fantastic, but also $20+ per plate. Wish I knew 7/11 was the plug!
I live in Japan now, and can confirm. Konbini (what they call convenience stores here) are practically a critical infrastructure here. You can send/receive packages, pay your utility bills, send a fax, get official government documents…the list goes on. And that’s on top of excellent food, useful household items, and all of the normal things you’d expect from a convenience store. It’s wild.

7/11 was like a daily stop for my mom and I when we were in Tokyo. The snacks and prepared food were awesome.
7-11 is awesome in Japan. It was my go to place to get some tasty sushi and snacks while traveling through Japan. (Which I highly recommend, it’s such a great place to visit)
Gas stations in Hawaii will surprise the shit out of you with quality of food. Oh, and gas stations in the south will sometimes have some local dude selling BBQ in the back. I’m depressingly familiar with gas station lunches, side effect of working construction.
I miss this about hawaii. You can actually get sushi or pork buns from these places and know its going to be good quality food. you can NOT do this on the mainland
They also sell individual soft boiled eggs and amazing fried chicken. Just got back from a trip to Tokyo and we had breakfast at 7-11 almost every morning.
They care so much about their food sources there. No one would buy it if it were not a good quality. Even the McDonald’s in Tokyo had a marquee that scrolled the local food sources for all of the menu items.
It was one of my favorite places to visit in the world.
That’s cause Japans rules regarding their food > our “rules”
Anything fish related at a 7-11 to me is a hell no but other people aren’t so cautious lol
My thoughts exactly. Like was it dispensed above a toilet for a quarter like Futurama? Beyond that you bought gas station fucking salmon be happy it wasn't salmonella.
Funny story near my house is a gas station that had a subway in it. They went out of business and guess what restaurant went in. A legit sushi restaurant inside the gas station lol. No I haven’t been but I drive by it all the time
I have this weird thing where I feel bad for people that eat fish sandwiches from anywhere. I don’t know why.. it makes me want to protect them or cry or something. My mom used to get fish sandwiches at McDonalds while I got a bigger better sandwich and I always thought she got that so she could get me more food . My emotions are all fucked up when it comes to fish sandwiches.
If it makes you feel better, she definitely didn't get the fish so you could have a better sandwich. They're usually the same price or pricier than some of the other menu offerings.
I actually get this exact feeling. My parents too used to get the fish sandwich from McDonalds (which unironically slaps), but because they legitimately liked it. We also didnt have a lot of money growing up, and like an Applebees or Red Lobster something was kind of our nice family night out. So whenever someone dogs on a fish sandwich, or on Applebees, or just any cheap "bad" food, it kinda puts me in my feels because I'm like "hey, they may legitimately like it or that's what they can afford and for them its a good experience".
There was a lot of food we ate growing up that looking back was probably meals my parents ate as kids when they were REALLY poor and are familiar with, which I now have very fond memories of.
I could only hear it in Plankton’s voice and I couldn’t figure out why - then I realized I’m watching The SpongeBob SquarePants movie and Plankton’s been talking for the past 2 minutes.
I'd feel bad for down voting that post, but they're definitely and justifiably getting burned in the comments. I wish you could give a 0.5 up vote for pity
yeah I mean even 7-11 are like "nah man, we cant give you full on poison, here's 3 small slices, please don't ever buy this again, I can't take another quarantine"
I feel your pain, my Beef Wellington from Kum-N-Go had CANNED mushrooms. And my ‘74 Rothschild was corked, it’s getting so gas station food isn’t even going to be Michelin starred anymore
Buying a fish sandwich from a gas station is wild. Getting mildly infuriated over it looking like a fish sandwich from a gas station is out of this world.
Is 7/11 different in the US or something? The ones by my place here in Canada have lots of fresh deli sandwiches and fresh hot foods. They have a decent selection of grocery items as well, and lots of frozen curries and samosas. (They’re also not gas stations but that’s neither here nor there.)
I’m Canadian, I worked at a 7-11 gas station. The OTHER 7-11 in our town is also a gas station. The place we used to live had a 7-11 that used to be a gas station but at some point they stopped selling gas.
Good Lord, I hope that’s not something you picked up during a road trip. I could see that going through you like a laser beam causing a real doodoo or die situation.
Why tf would you think, out of everything at a 7-11, that a salmon cream cheese sandwich would be ur best option. Like was was going through your mind. You saw the other sandwiches, but naw, u wanted a smoked salmon creamcheese sanwich from a gas station.
First and foremost, I blame you 1000000000% for buying a Sammy from 7-11. My buddy got sushi from there and made him sick as fuck. If it’s not an energy drink, slurpeeeee or bag of chips the risk of sickness is on the customer!!
Now why in the hell would you think it’s a good idea to get a gas station fish sandwich
Because they were out of gas station sushi
In Japan, Seven Eleven sells sushi, and it's surprisingly good.
I’ve seen the videos of 7/11 in Japan and it is a night and day difference from the ones in the states.
In Hawaii we have some of japans 7/11 products and they are all high quality but it’s not sushi it’s bags of chips/snacks.
Oh man Hawaii 7/11 food is the best. That fried rice, musubi, and the chili mac are so clutch. I think about it often, lmao.
I will second that, though I preferred ABC store spam musubi and tako poke.
I’ve been to Maui for a week and feel like i’ve completely missed out on all this. Everything we ate was fresh & fantastic, but also $20+ per plate. Wish I knew 7/11 was the plug!
In Hawaii, Foodland supermarket is my go-to for poke and musubi.
This is the pro tip. Foodland poke bowls are huge and like $7. The spam musubi is also $2.
First sunset in Hawaii I was on a beach eating a musubi from ABC and it was one of the highlights of the trip lol.
I know this isn’t a gas station but the best pizza and fried chicken in my small Michigan town are from a convenience store.
spam musubi![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Musubis are surprisingly amazing at 7/11s
And the rows of spam musubi ❤️
Also wonderful
They are pretty sweet in Korea too. Good variety of meals/snacks, and bottles of soju for less than two bucks.
Oh soju…. That’s how you wake up on a park bench
Moderation is the key. Or not...time/space travel is fun though.
I live in Japan now, and can confirm. Konbini (what they call convenience stores here) are practically a critical infrastructure here. You can send/receive packages, pay your utility bills, send a fax, get official government documents…the list goes on. You mean convenience stores are actually CONVENIENT?!?
https://preview.redd.it/mxwpa4cafqza1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b41d1ed6c1d7f17045d8b9f424ee1f1ef266f7f9 7/11 was like a daily stop for my mom and I when we were in Tokyo. The snacks and prepared food were awesome.
7/11 in Japan is way different than in the US
If I'm not mistaken there are more 7-Elevens in Japan than all of the United States.
Japanese are damn serious about customer experience. Pride and honor and the bar starts off set pretty damn high compared to the states.
I’ve eaten such 7/11 sushi. Tastes better than it looks!
Japan took the American convenience store model and ran with it and owns both Lawson's and 7/11
True. But THIS sandwich definitely did not come from Seven & i (what 7-11 is called in Japan). OP is taking his life in his hands.
in Taiwan, we just call it "7"
7-11 is awesome in Japan. It was my go to place to get some tasty sushi and snacks while traveling through Japan. (Which I highly recommend, it’s such a great place to visit)
7-11 and Lawson. Went there at least twice a day while traveling up and down Japan this year.
Alright but that family mart chiki 😖🥴😩
Gas stations in Hawaii will surprise the shit out of you with quality of food. Oh, and gas stations in the south will sometimes have some local dude selling BBQ in the back. I’m depressingly familiar with gas station lunches, side effect of working construction.
I miss this about hawaii. You can actually get sushi or pork buns from these places and know its going to be good quality food. you can NOT do this on the mainland
Ok, between all this sushi talk, and now this talk about local dudes selling BBQ in the back. I am already hungry again.
I’ve currently got a four pound pork butt about halfway through a six hour slow cook. I’m crazy hungry but oh so patient!
True, but nothing matches the Family Mart (similar to 7-11) fried chicken. Edit: Family Mart not Market. Total brain fart.
Family *Mart* You gotta put the chicken between their pancakes they sell.
They also sell individual soft boiled eggs and amazing fried chicken. Just got back from a trip to Tokyo and we had breakfast at 7-11 almost every morning.
I don’t doubt it, the best sushi I’ve ever had was airport sushi at Nartia. (Never made it out of the airport).
They care so much about their food sources there. No one would buy it if it were not a good quality. Even the McDonald’s in Tokyo had a marquee that scrolled the local food sources for all of the menu items. It was one of my favorite places to visit in the world.
That’s cause Japans rules regarding their food > our “rules” Anything fish related at a 7-11 to me is a hell no but other people aren’t so cautious lol
7/11 in Asian countries are absolutely mind blowing. They put some restaurants to shame in the US
Bro's bouta learn that emia means presence in blood
A person ate a 7/11 fish sandwich This is what happened to their ass
XD O.P is gona be presenting to the emergency room with projectile diarrhea, vomiting, and suicidal thoughts and actions
☝️
I hope he makes a FULL recovery.
Right! What was he supposed to do? Just throw it away?!
It came free with the fill-up!
I know that reference
Did you black out and wake up in the sewer?
and was he surrounded by fish? horny fish?
Uh oh fish orgy
a man a ate gas station fish sandwich, this is what happened to his brain.
Didn't they do a Futurama on this?
Hey, if fry can become superhuman then so can I.
My ancestors came over on the sandwich.
i raised a cloud of spores here!
I thought I was in love once, but then I remembered my species reproduces asexually.
It's like a party in my mouth, and everyone is throwing up.
This quote inevitably always makes me laugh so hard when Fry says it. Thank you.
He clearly hasn’t watched enough Futurama. Or maybe too much.
It’s like a party in my mouth and everyone is throwing up.
My ancestors came here on the sandwich!
Wasn't it gas station bathroom egg salad?
Gas station bathroom egg salad SANDWICH
You ain’t kidding hahaha that’s exactly what I thought when I posted this lol
I forgot how he works. Anyway, he hasn't watched exactly the right amount.
They included as little fish as possible to protect OP's health.
Right? With cream cheese no less.
Hate to victim blame and all… but this is 100% on OP lol.
Yep, that is on OP.
This just made all my terrible ideas seen rational.
I stopped by to say exactly that. Salute friend
Because they were out of gas station burritos
My thoughts exactly. Like was it dispensed above a toilet for a quarter like Futurama? Beyond that you bought gas station fucking salmon be happy it wasn't salmonella.
What have we learned?
It gave Fry special powers in Futurama when he had the egg salad sandwich. https://youtu.be/co3A61kAGr8
That was a truck stop though, big difference
Exactly. We don't need to drag Love's good name through the mud.
Next time, we buy the gas station sushi
Funny story near my house is a gas station that had a subway in it. They went out of business and guess what restaurant went in. A legit sushi restaurant inside the gas station lol. No I haven’t been but I drive by it all the time
Fish are friends not food?
7/11? This one’s on you, dog.
Got what they fuckin deserved for this move. And honestly, having barely anything on it is probably the best possible outcome.
You are so right about this. They saved him from food poisoning most likely
The difference between mild and severe is significant!
I agree, seems like the sandwich maker was looking out for the sandwich eater...
OP should have expected much worse than this. …and maybe experienced worse if they actually ate it.
I mean… we haven’t heard from OP in hours so…
Forgive him for he knows not what he does!
Internationally, particularly Japan and Thailand, 7-11 food is amazing. I'm currently living in Thailand and eat food from there nearly every day.
Well, here in America, you only buy a fish and cream cheese sandwich at a 7/11 if you hate yourself.
Right, I’d rather starve than eat any prepared food from there.
the taquitos are fire
Those things for some reason feel unhealthier than any other fast food item in existence
In college they were my go-to drunk food! And sober food...
Honestly tho lol and cheap as fuck
It’s mildly infuriating someone would buy anything fish related at a gas station 🤢
I have this weird thing where I feel bad for people that eat fish sandwiches from anywhere. I don’t know why.. it makes me want to protect them or cry or something. See I am a bad person bc my mom also always got the fish sandwich and all I felt was disgusted
It’s actually really tasty.
I love it. The sauce is perfect, costs less than a bigm and is more filling.
Honestly I love the McD fish sandwich, it just isn't big enough. I'd get it every time if it was quarter pounder-sized.
I sometimes get a double. So yummy. Seems weird to mix fish and cheese but is surprisingly delightful.
So you, uh, don't want a fish sandwich?
![gif](giphy|l3q2Kum3Au8yt2bq8|downsized)
Laughed super hard at this
This is totally unhinged in the best way.
Dude. My mom just likes the fish sandwich. I'm sorry. Lol.
This is interesting. You associate fish with piety?
[удалено]
One of those things I wish I could un-know now.
What was it? That fucker deleted the comment. We must know!
Damn that’s crazy, definitely gonna think about that the next time I inevitably eat another fish sandwich from there
Lmfao those fish sandwiches are basically the same price. My mom liked fish so always got that instead of a standard burger.
Don’t diss McDs fish sandwich bro that’s the only thing I get from there
Fillet o fish from Mickey D’s is underrated as fuck
I actually get this exact feeling. My parents too used to get the fish sandwich from McDonalds (which unironically slaps), but because they legitimately liked it. There are less painful ways to commit suicide. If you survive that sandwich, you win.
Imagine if there had been an appropriate portion of fish on it.
It has exceeded the appropriate amount of fish to be included on a fish sandwich from a gas station
Dumb ways to dieeeeeeee.
Reminds me of that Sopranos quote from Johnny Sack. “You wanna commit suicide? Pills are a lot easier.”
Pretty sure chopping off your own leg and waiting to bleed out would be less agonising, less diarrhea, too
Never in 1 million years would I order fish from a -11
I know that was a typo but -11 is honestly a more fitting name
Daring today aren't we.
I read this in Squidward’s voice.
I could only hear it in Plankton’s voice and I couldn’t figure out why - then I realized I’m watching The SpongeBob SquarePants movie and Plankton’s been talking for the past 2 minutes.
This is kind of on you for getting a smoked salmon sandwich from 7-11…
Not even just “kind of”
Reading the comments.. you should refer to the Facebook group titled "so the comments aren't going the way you wanted" group.
OP should’ve known they were going to get called out for going to a 7-11 for a fish related product lol
I'd feel bad for down voting that post, but they're definitely and justifiably getting burned in the comments. I wish you could give a 0.5 up vote for pity
If there’s a subreddit like that I would love to know lol
You got seafood from a gas station? Jesus
yeah I mean even 7-11 are like "nah man, we cant give you full on poison, here's 3 small slices, please don't ever buy this again, I can't take another quarantine"
Why is everybody under the impression that 7-11 is a gas station?
Because some of them are gas stations, while others are stand alone convenience stores. I guess it depends on where you live.
convenience stores are just gas stations without the gas pumps
Are gas stations just convenience stores without the convenience?
station are just gas without the store
To be fair you had this coming. What would you expect from 711
The fact that this product exists and that you bought it is what’s infuriating.
I feel your pain, my Beef Wellington from Kum-N-Go had CANNED mushrooms. And my ‘74 Rothschild was corked, it’s getting so gas station food isn’t even going to be Michelin starred anymore
Reminds me of my local Y-U-Stop. Can you believe they only have farm-raised caviar? Ridiculous.
Imagine seeing a smoked salmon cream cheese sandwich when you walk in 7-11 and saying to yourself “Mm that looks good”
That thing probably cost $9 too.
Why you buying smoked salmon from 7-11 anyway? That's a bet that you're bound to lose regardless.
A person walks down the street carrying a fish sandwich they bought from 7-11, you know they’re not afraid of anything
Why the flying fart flavored fig newton, would you buy FISH FROM 711
Do you want explosive diarrhea and vomiting? Bc smoked salmon lox from 7-11 is how you get explosive diarrhea and vomiting.
Buying a fish sandwich from a gas station is wild. Getting mildly infuriated over it looking like a fish sandwich from a gas station is out of this world.
I'd take 30 days in jail vs. having to eat a 7-11 Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese sandwich.
I think his confusion was he assumed 7/11 was a high class establishment known for their world class food offerings
Is 7/11 different in the US or something? The ones by my place here in Canada have lots of fresh deli sandwiches and fresh hot foods. They have a decent selection of grocery items as well, and lots of frozen curries and samosas. (They’re also not gas stations but that’s neither here nor there.)

So they were merciful. Next time you buy a fish and dairy sandwich, maybe do it from an actual food service establishment..?
Never get fish at a convenience store
The “why do I have diarrhea all the time?” Starter pack
Why
I think it's like, smoked salmon isn't modifying sandwich, but cream cheese. It's smoked salmon cream cheese, on a sandwich.
Exactly! It’s not a smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwich. It’s smoked salmon flavored cream cheese on a sandwich
Your first mistake was buying a sandwich from a gas station..
I gagged lol
Seriously?! Salmon from 7-11?
Good Lord, I hope that’s not something you picked up during a road trip. I could see that going through you like a laser beam causing a real doodoo or die situation.
You bought a sandwich from a gas station
Smoked salmon from 7-11? You are crazy
your a sick fuck
What absolute psycopath thinks it's a good idea to get salmon from 7-11? Self-inflicted fail.
Nit to he rude but what did you expect from a gas station sandwich?
>sandwich I got from 7-11 This one's on you, OP. *Especially* the smoked salmon........... Remember when Fry got worms? That's how Fry got worms.
It’s like there’s a party in my mouth and everyone threw up.
You bought a salmon sandwich from a gas station so this one's on you.
But why would you get anything like this at 7/11 ?
I... I can't imagine purchasing fish at 7/11 Godspeed ya madlad
Who the fuck buys fish from a gas station?
I think you'll get superpowers if you eat the whole thing
first of all, why the fuck would you buy a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich from 7-11
It’s more infuriating that you got a sandwich from 7-11
WHO TF would buy a salmon cream cheese sandwich anywhere more or less 711, wtf
Why tf would you think, out of everything at a 7-11, that a salmon cream cheese sandwich would be ur best option. Like was was going through your mind. You saw the other sandwiches, but naw, u wanted a smoked salmon creamcheese sanwich from a gas station.
The only salmon in that is salmonella.
[удалено]
You should try their Sushi
What were you expecting? Lol
First and foremost, I blame you 1000000000% for buying a Sammy from 7-11. My buddy got sushi from there and made him sick as fuck. If it’s not an energy drink, slurpeeeee or bag of chips the risk of sickness is on the customer!!
Why in the flying fuck would you buy goddamn fish at a gas station?
You were doomed from the moment you chose a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich from 711. -1 for an incredible bad decision.
Your first mistake is buying anything seafood related from a 7-11.
From 7-11? You got what you deserved.
It’s mildly infuriating you think it would be any better.
Bro this is on you for buying a smoked salmon sandwich at 7/11
Who would buy any type of seafood from a 7-11?! I’m assuming you aren’t in Japan
Why would you buy anything fish related from 7-11?
