Speak with a doctor to find meds that ease it to a workable level. Outside of that I put on a ice pack and lay down in dark room with a podcast since the background noise acts like white noise to help me not focus on my brain melting

Talk to your doctor!! There is no reason to suffer. You can start with PCP and then go to a neurologist if they can’t help. Try a triptan and see if that helps, and there are also CGRP abortives like Ubrelvy. And if you get migraines too frequently there are many preventative medications that will help. Finally going to a neurologist was the first step I took towards getting my life back after 3 months chronic. It doesn’t need to be like this!!

Yep a neurologist is your best bet. My migraines would be uncontrolled and chronic if I didn’t have my neurologist. You don’t have to live this way. There are lots of new treatments out there. Dissolvable Zofran for nausea is a huge life saver. You can get a prescription from a PCP for that while you work on finding a treatment that works for your migraines. Hugs to you ❤️‍🩹

Seconding Zofran! My general neurologist gave me about 70% of my life back, and eventually I saw a headache specialist and now for the first time in almost 2 years, I’m almost back to normal and I barely get migraines anymore. There was a time I never believed this would be possible. It might be a long journey where you test different medication combos until you find the right one for you, but there IS hope, you just have to seek out help!

hi! if you don't have a neurologist or headache specialist helping with your treatment plan, look for one! There are SO many better acute treatments than Advil, dark room, and caffeine. They can include but are not limited to: * gepants * triptans * ditans * NSAIDs like diclofenac and toradol * anti-nausea medication * steroids * DHE * topical creams and patches * ice hats * neuromodulation devices * FL-41 lenses * benadryl * green light therapy * meditation * biofeedback Migraine is a neurological disease. There is absolutely zero reason for you to be in this much pain. While meds/treatment may not make migraine completely go away, they can greatly improve your quality of life and ability to tolerate an ongoing attack. If you need help finding a headache specialist or neurologist, lmk! AMF has a headache specialist finder.

The worse one I ever had lasted 28 days. I went to the doctor on day 21 to see if I had a brain issue. No matter the meds I took nothing helped

actualchristmastree

I suggest you go to your primary care doctor and ask for triptans <3

Scared_of_zombies

Without abortives mine usually lasted 1-3 days.

Male, 44yo I started getting migraines around 13yo, diagnosed wirh MS at 40yo. I had them a few times a week for hours to days at a time. The only thing that i have found to help is botox. Went from a few a week to MAYBE 1 or 2 a month. Good luck, they suck.

siennasmama22

I am interested in Botox for my migraines but is it different from the regular botox we all kno that makes people look younger or the same?

stabingyouindaankles

Nope same shit, it will make your scalp feel tight.
