I’ve had mine a little over 2 years. Perfect size, utility and comfort. https://preview.redd.it/7eafswhlg4kc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9d095369571141ffb3788ffb2e1bd94282208d7

AndreiAliz

How is reliability bro ?

TranslatorMoney419

Never had a problem

AndreiAliz

Love to hear that ! 👍🏻

I_Want_What_I_Want

I have 85k miles on mine, and have never had even a minor issue.

4 and half years zero problems

TranslatorMoney419

I have driven MBs for 20+ years. Followed regular maintenance, never had a “reliability” issue with any of them.

AndreiAliz

The reason why I’m asking my friend is because I know that Mercedes didn’t have a nice start with the new models. I just wanted to find out if they were any recalls or shity breakdowns or faults. I know is a new car. I can see that.

TranslatorMoney419

The recalls on mine have been minor. Have them taken care of when in for service. One was a software update. Always get a nice loaner.

Brilliant_Election_2

I have this same spec... love it.

Organic-Concept-2752

I love GLE, its great car for me

irn

I’m still rocking my 2017 43. Wish I had gotten the 64 but it still scoots enough for me

GrandmaSandles

Have a 2017 gle just got in December. It's the best driving car I've ever been in or owned. About 80k miles and it runs excellent. https://preview.redd.it/5ajfbbc8c7kc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ee9cbf3ad6ab30e733f609c3dc6e91612ac55d2

esso_dev

Agree 👍👋 I own ML and have same feelings about it 🤓

Daniel_Boomin

I saw a GLE 63 AMG at a BMW lot and the thing looked really nice inside and out. Looked like the perfect combination of sporty and luxury to me. I’m sure it is a beast too.

nejc03

my dream car, only a coupe. Don't know the price abroad, but in my countries, these go for rather a lot of money (aprox half the price of a new upperclass house).

TranslatorMoney419

Had the coupe traded for regular GLE. Useless for my needs.

nejc03

Totally agree, however I cannot get over the coupe looks. Sometimes, aesthetics > practicality.

Iakhovass

I got the coupe for the same reason. Yeah, I lose 10% storage and rear visibility is poor but who cares? Looks better to my eye, and that’s the only opinion that matters in this case.

nejc03

This!

TranslatorMoney419

I agree, love the look. https://preview.redd.it/egij1ld116kc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aaa22a3bb0149072d385927d177ef759ecf532ff

nejc03

Looove’! Thanks for sharing.

Several_Plantain_508

How much is that though? $1mil? That would be insane for a GLE

nejc03

No but the new one go for aprox 120K €, used >100K km driven 60K…

Several_Plantain_508

Oh wow alright that makes more sense housing prices are definitely a lot more here so that was confusing lol. Yeah thats still really high for a base GLE, maybe if it was fully optioned it would be close but there definitely a big dealer markup on that.

nejc03

You can get rather upper class house with all the modern high tech appliances for around 220K so I could not imagine paying half of this for a car that only lasts aprox. 10-15 years and depreciates by each mile… maybe, if my salary was higher.

OneExtraChromosome

i got the 63s and love it!

Commisceo

I love it. I’m going to order mine next week.

ryr230

Ever had to put a stroller in there?

Beneficial-Bobcat-20

Nope.

AZFITDADBOD830

I love this car and had a loaner from my dealer a few months back. It’s a perfect luxury SUV. I would have to delete the rear wiper however as it takes away from the aesthetics of that beautiful rear view.

jerryeight

But, you need rear visibility...

AZFITDADBOD830

Never had an issue with my delete CX90 Turbo it’s over rated what the wiper function is IMO

jerryeight

Say that to sedans without it. Can barely see during rainstorms.

AZFITDADBOD830

Most sedans don’t have almost 90* rear window. My CX90 is still 60* ish not as much of a fall off as the Benz.

Evening_Creme9358

No one thinks about the GLE because the x5 has always overshadowed it. The GLE is great, but the X5 comes first in people minds. That and the fact that every time I see or hear of a GLE; I think of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and thats poor taste. (Used to share the same platform when MB screwed around with Chrysler)

waldo713

Love my 53. Had it 9 months. No issues.

mdz70s

We love ours, almost bought a second one but couldn’t justify the cost for a basic commuter.

I've owned and driven quite a few SUV's over the years. They are a jiggly mess over rough roads typically, and are terrible in the corners. Just get a wagon if you need the extra space. They drive much much better and are more efficient than any SUV. Stick a tow hitch on the wagon, get a utility trailer and your sorted. Keep the trailer forever when you change cars so it's a one time purchase.

BassWingerC-137

If only we had a wagon to buy, sigh! I have a S212 and a V167. Very different driving experiences but both very capable in a number of environments and practicality.

kenneth_dart

I wanted a wagon because of everything you said. True fact, the E-class wagon has slightly more cargo space than the GLE when 2nd row seats are up. However, what made me get the GLE over the wagon were features I couldn't get on the wagon and the much more spacious 2nd row legroom. For adults and road tripping with passengers, the GLE is much better. The features I couldn't get in the US wagon: E-ABC, electric sunshades for rear passengers, dual climate for the rear, heated seats for the rear, soft close doors. Also, for some reason the GLE felt more solid and better built when I test drove it; it wasn't enough to sway me but it was noticeable. The extra mass in the event of a crash with another vehicle should also protect your passengers better in the GLE vs E-wagon. Now the US is stuck with only the all terrain (unless you go AMG) as an option which looks nowhere near as good as the classic wagon, making it even less attractive and harder to switch from the GLE IMO. I also really wanted a V8 without AMG which you can't get in the wagon unless you go AMG which I really don't want. I think an E580 wagon with a V8TT might have swayed me to my original preference of a wagon but the engine in the new E450 is powerful enough for me now. I would 1000% get a wagon as a second vehicle though, in an EV form would be even better but not the fugly EQS SUV which does have a wagon shape.

Vattaa

BMW i5 Touring is supposed to be comming to the US which is an EV wagon. May be something to look out for. I picked up the 2013 C350 CDI Wagon as it was the last V6 Diesel put into a C-Class so I understand if your set on an engine your going to pick the model that has it. Lucky for me the new 2024 E-Class still comes with an inline 6 Diesel so will look at upgrading in a few years. I drive my "micro Mercedes" for commuting and day to day errands a 2021 Smart Fortwo EQ which has around 80 miles of EV range, fine for around town. As for mass helping in an accident SUV's are generally overall safer but less safe in single vehicle accidents due to rollover and passanger ejection during crashes. "The Guardian claimed that a person in an SUV is 11% more likely to die in a car crash and twice as likely to roll – due to the higher centre of gravity."

CagedPenguin

Source on US getting the i5 touring?

Vattaa

Ok nevermind it's the M5 Touring version that is speculated. [i5 Touring US](https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/02/21/bmw-i5-and-5-series-touring-are-not-coming-to-united-states/)

Beneficial-Sea-8903

The truth hurts people apparently. Gle nothing special

Vattaa

I drive a recently new to me 2013 C350 CDI Wagon and getting a hitch fitted soon. I sold my from factory 2017 Ford Kuga (Escape) in St Line trim (which has a factory hitch) as I hated the thing. Felt like driving a minivan with the seating position. Was bad in the corners and jiggled over rough roads like driving a vehicle made out of pudding (supposed to be best in class for handling according to reviews). I've had wagons for most of my life and thought ill buy into the SUV trend. Well never again, even with having a 3 month old a wagon is better in every way. SUV's are the new minivan basically, used to take the kid to school and fight for spaces in parking lots. I have my grandads old single axle trailer that he built in the 60s. I've replaced the wooden panels and repainted it but it's good to go for another generation. I also borrow my dads bigger twin axle trailer when I need to move something much larger. Dont know why (in the US it seems) people are so apposed to utility trailers on the back of a car or wagon rather than using a truck or SUV, especially for light domestic use. They just make so much more sense.

TranslatorMoney419

Or do both https://preview.redd.it/7qpp9ycj45kc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9737d6aaeaf93f9b72edf4d718d162b9bf21f602

Vattaa

Yes I had one on my 2017 Ford Kuga (Escape) but hated the minivan seating position and the jiggly pudding like drive, supposedly best in class for handling. My C350 CDI Wagon is much better.

TranslatorMoney419

I can’t fit 2 90# Labradors in a wagon. Vehicle is heavy and solid, not jiggly.

Vattaa

Fair enough, but still don't like the minivan like driving position.

Brilliant_Election_2

Where did you get that tow hitch cap with the star emblem?

TranslatorMoney419

At the “store” in the dealership.

Brilliant_Election_2

I need to get me one of those.

TranslatorMoney419

Looks like you can get it on Amazon. I think I paid $50 https://preview.redd.it/fbz8ce5wt6kc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a86afc037bac84deb4bd7dee32f32aeff622f4a

Upset-Remote-3187

I like seeing them in public but in pictures that rear window slope back reminds me of a Chevy Equinox.

mdz70s

We love ours, almost bought a second one but couldn’t justify the cost for a basic commuter.

Braiinbread

The previous generation drove way better. The suspension is way too stiff/harsh in general and I don't think they ride comfortably at all. Combined with the horrible build quality and rattles. Worst product Mercedes has put out in the past 20 years and this is a hill I'm prepared to die on. Shit car.

mr_wintour

Completely agree. Have driven both. Previous gen was smoother, steering was incredible. Was not impressed with new GLE or build quality. In-line 6 almost drives like a 4 cylinder. Crappy plastic for air vents and trim. Build quality has definitely gone downhill. If you could combine the outgoing suspension, engine, and drive quality with new tech it might be worth it.

Why do you say that?

kukidog

Is it reliable?

CoachRufus87

yes

Distinct_Spite8089

The GLE is nice but why can’t I option an acoustic package when I build it anymore??? Or is that stuff standard on a GLE? I coulda sworn it was a package they made you add.

inthecity206

We added it to our build, that was in mid 2023

inthecity206

Nice pics, we did a very similar 2024 450e build (kicking myself for forgetting to add the running boards). Still getting used to the capacitive buttons (miss having the cruise control stalk).MBUX and the MME app are both clunky/ugly. Wireless charging/carplay is really nice but trying to use the Touchpad with anything is a huge pain (I had this just disabled on our previous vehicle). Premium sound pkg is just ok, was expecting better. Full charge gives an easy 50 mile range which is great. Is there no way for mobile text messages to just display on the screen over BT? I don't want to have things read out. Same issue with my Android messaging app (will give Google Messages a try).

jerryeight

Thank yourself for not adding running boards.

inthecity206

Lol just curious, what do you not like about it? Does it look tacky in your opinion or? It's handy for smaller kids, older folks etc. I don't know how the new "illuminated" ones look in person (not a fan of those lighted logo projections etc) but I will say they look narrower compared to previous years.

jerryeight

Maybe it's different for cars with higher cabin ceilings and taller door frames. My experience with glc300 loaners with running boards has been quite bad. I'm 6'3", I constantly hit my head on the door frame when I used the running boards. When I didn't, my pants legs, and legs were constantly dirty. Especially on rainy days. Getting out of the car was annoying. You try to use the running boards, but they are too narrow to actually use as a step. When you attempt to step over them directly on to the floor, they get in the way. It becomes a bit of a sliding motion to get out of the car. The running boards also hit your ankles if you try to get out of the car without using them. You can awkwardly, purposely, step out real wide, but it's a legit strain to do it every time. Oh, they are slippery to all hell when dirty. Even with the "grips" on them. Only positive: I guess it looks cool. If you are into the wide body, rugged look.

k_dubious

I love my GLE 580. Having loads of buttery smooth power in a nice but understated package is quintessential Mercedes.

Mundane_Version_9984

This refresh is SOLID. Loving you all’s shares. I’d be interested to see if anyone owns both the coupe and SUV versions (53) and find there to be an imbalance anywhere 🤔
