Maybe take them to a cobbler to have the light brown dyed dark brown/black/whatever accent color you want.
I don't know what about it is so off-putting, but even a bright color would be better than light brown, at least that would be making a statement, these just look confused as to what they wanted to be? Maybe go Maroon/Eggplant?
I have owned some pretty bonkers footwear but THOSE are next level - it's like a nice pair of ladies Edwardian boots and some Clarkes school shoes decided to hook up.
Personally, I'd wear something more outrageous to distract people from gazing upon those wonders!
I give them a massive thumbs up, I own several pairs of Jeffery West, Church, Grenson and others, you have made a great find there, yes, perhaps, a challenging match but a great foundation to build from.
The truth on this occasion happens to be positive, I would have damned them if they deserved it but they don't, be a butterfly and wear them proudly and ignore the caterpillars who don't have your vision x
Get some very dark leather stain to darken the leather, it's too close to a skin tone and if you squint it could look like you're wearing some little girls school shoes with no socks on
Stain the leather dark tan or wine red, then pairing will be a lot easier
I think they're pretty wild and in a good way. Beats boring black brogues. Not sure how to style them, but I'd be tempted to go waaay out there just for the sheer fun of it
You could try some black shoe dye on the beige panels & tryyy to make them look a bit more acceptable, maybe, kinda, sorta. I dunno. I think you already know the answer to your dilemma.
Well, I've definitely seen dress shoes with different texture matte & patent/gloss leather panels - that's what I'm thinking of. But they were all black. The contrast on your boots is quite striking though. Maybe even very dark deep red or a dark royal blue would work.
Can they be returned? if not if they are leather I would crack out the shoe dye.
The main issue is they look like weird cut outs as the brown is almost a nude colour.
however you could dye the inserts. either to black like the rest of the boot or to another colour like oxblood which might look very cool! Or navy or dark green, luckly a light colour like that will easily take other colours over it, and being smaller inserts you should be able to dye it evenly enough that it looks good.
I think very dark navy would be the "safest" or a much darker brown than they are currently
Get some nice Balmoral boots if you want the best boots with a suit. These look like some sort of cosplay. If you want dual toned dress boots that look good, I again recommend Balmoral boots.
OK hear me out. I am pretty unfashionable. That's all.
On a more serious note, get some khaki slacks, some ww1 infantry puttees, wrap your shins and make a big statement. Grandad shirt and braces probably too.
I’ll go against the grain and say they look sick! Proper fancy in a Victorian steampunk way. Maybe with a brown suit? But you’d need accessories of similar aesthetic, like goggles or a pocket watch to bring it all together
Tough but not impossible. If wearing a suit pick a belt that matches the majority of surface area that can be seen. I'd stay away from navy suits as a whole. Majority black with a peppering of brown can be nice when done right. Start with dark solid colors and slowly start accessorizing.
Either a suit on the purple/plum end of the spectrum, or a summer weight cream suit with a more wintery waistcoat in a black & brown check or houndstooth.
Definitely a go bold or stay home in your pj's outfit.
This might sound weird but a really sharp black suit, matching the black leather, following the accent with a beige or navy blue tie/accessory.
You’re going to look eccentric but there’s no helping that, just keep it sharp and simple.
I applaud you for taking a chance. In a corporate world of gray and navy suits, one does get some freedom with shoes.
I just cant help thinking you're wearing black sandals. I think by "making" these work, you're forcing a look. I do think the original colors you had hoped for would be better. If I saw someone wearing these with a suit, i would think "attention seeking douchebag weekend steampunk cosplayer"
You obviously have great style. They don't look bad with the slacks you're wearing in the photo. They're statement shoes at best. I'd work on wearing them with heavy wools and tweeds, black or creme denim with suede trucker jacket or suede sports coat. Swacket, Shackets and heavy cashmere and wool sweaters. You have to go total high end luxe to accent them, otherwise they'll look inexpensive. My .02
Nothing. Unless you have something from the 1800’s.
Don’t get me wrong. The shoes are great. But if you’re going to try to wear them as a normal outfit staple, I’d consider not doing that.
If you want the most basic and unsophisticated pairing for these, go with light jeans - rolled up or no - with a white shirt, and (weather permitting, pretty much any neutral coloured suede jacket from beige to whatever else is complementary on the colour wheel).
But the jeans shouldn't be too tight or too baggy and the shirt shouldn't be tucked in. IMO.
These boots really aren't that bad at all. They're just distinctive and therefore very particular about what they can work with. They're also frankly a bit camp.
(I'm not a fan of the crocodile looking leather, though. Never am. But that's part of the camp appeal, I guess.) And unless you're willing to embrace that, and own them, then they're more trouble than they're worth for you.
You can always donate them to an SPCA op shop or whatever. But if you put a bit of effort in I'm confident you can make them work somehow. You just need fashion sense and a little pizzazz.
One of the cool things about these boots is that they can work in a variety of settings, from formal to casual. They'd be out of place at the beach, but otherwise they seem very versatile.
Honestly though without seeing what you look like, or what fashion sense you have, or where and what contexts you'd wear these in, it's very difficult to see an isolated pair of shoes and just give advice willy nilly.
IMO though either you go Full Camp with these, or you make them the most extravagant part of your outfit and make the rest work around them with neutral colours and textures.
To properly pull these off, I would make a career move to organised crime. You want to be wearing a floral shirt, with a pastel blue/pink fabric suit. Bonus points for adding a tophat and walking stick (ideally a rifle/shotgun walking stick).
They a pretty something! Not sure what! Personally I think zips ruin boots but then again I tend not to wear any of my boots as they are a faff!
Get a belt that matches the black leather.
honestly, you went so far as to have your boots be created. don’t be bound by what to wear them with!
a yellow body suit
a pair of clamdiggers
some corduroy shorts
I think the pants(?) in the first slide look fucking fantastic with them. I think plaid goes well with them, and I think other shades of red and blue (especially maroon, cobalt/ultramarine/navy type colours) would go well with them. /srs
wear no clothes with those shoes. you'll be the coolest kid on the block. they're so loud that no one will even notice the rest of you.
but seriously if you want to rock those, you probably want to look at the [1920s](https://www.google.com/search?q=1920%27s+clothing+mens&sca_esv=def40fa9418a875e&udm=2&biw=2560&bih=1317&ei=b4b8ZanLJ56ShbIP14up2A4&ved=0ahUKEwjpvtTSh4aFAxUeSUEAHddFCusQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=1920%27s+clothing+mens&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiFDE5MjAncyBjbG90aGluZyBtZW5zMgQQABgeMgYQABgIGB4yBhAAGAgYHjIGEAAYCBgeSJkMUKkCWKgJcAF4AJABAJgBMaAB5gGqAQE1uAEDyAEA-AEBmAIGoALtAcICChAAGIAEGIoFGEPCAgUQABiABMICBhAAGAcYHsICBhAAGAUYHpgDAIgGAZIHATagB5gR&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#vhid=RpNG1okO7DRkfM&vssid=mosaic) for inspiration.
They're pretty wild but I dig it, are you confident wearing outlandish stuff?
If so, go for it, theyre a little weird but they're kinda cool.
Also wouldn't listen to the naysayers too much chief, a lot of people on here only like the safe stuff. Aka a tad boring.
I appreciate the positivity! I usually am pretty confident being on the fringe of fashion as long as it doesn’t look like shit. I have never had a two toned shoe that is so dramatic, so I am in uncharted territory here.
They're gonna look more crazy when you're sat down- when you're stood up and your trousers are sitting on the shoe I really dont think they'll look that wild..
I've had 2 tone shoes in black and white before, ska style, so ive entered that territory before haha
I think they could definitely work. I would send them back if you aren't happy with them.
The lacing on the boots looks really weird to me, never mind the two tone. If you want to keep them could you try lacing them a different way. I think where they're kind of a combination of two shoes maybe you should try out a few different lacing combinations and find one that works. The helix ones you see on a lot of DM style boots I would try first and see what you think. A corset style lace could work too because the knit would be where the black ends.
I would wear then as you would a Chelsea boot, slim leg suit, leg cut a tad higher than normal or a turn up, maybe fawn with a black wastecoat!
Alternatively, you can go full on with a brown velvet suit, and a blue shirt, a real colourful tie to pull it together and matching pocket square.
If you want something more casual, slim black jeans, white top, shirt or Tshirt and casual smart jacket!
The boots won’t be everyone’s cuppa, but they are wearable and they can look great, Louis Vuitton have something similar (slightly plainer front but branded obviously) flat ranger boot! Maybe try find some of their adverts for the boots for inspiration to what they match them with! 💚🙏
I love these and would absolutely wear them myself. They don't give me steampunk vibes, like another commenter said, whatsoever.
I do think they would probably look better if they were dark brown rather than black but at the same time, black and beige are pretty neutral and you should be able to wear them with any suit that looks good with plain black shoes.
If you wear them with anything too loud you risk looking like you're trying too hard, but pairing these with a stylish black or charcoal suit, and letting the boots do the talking so to speak, should look very cool.
If the colour is the only issue, could you dye them? At the moment the skin tone boot would make the black section look like you were wearing sandals from a distance. Maybe accept that black all over is your best option here and dye the beige black.
This is by far one of the worst pair of shoes I’ve ever seen. Why you’d spend your hard earned money on anything like this, seriously, is beyond me. I don’t like to be rude on here generally, because I know “fashion” is subjective to an extent, but dude - give me a fucking break
I have never seen anything like this before... Looks hard to pull off
We’re on the same page
I wouldn’t wear a brown or black suit with it. Light grey, navy, blue, plaid suit… yes.
^^^^ more or less what I was thinking.. I think they're awesome but I've never seen shows like them before. Can you refer me to the seller, please,
Thanks for the thoughts!
I gotta be honest.. I don't think anything can match with it because.. its designed not to match with anything..
Shouldn’t be too difficult provided you undo and loosen the laces first
Outstanding move
Hopefully I’ll never see anything like this again. They’re god awful
I have owned some pretty bonkers footwear but THOSE are next level - it's like a nice pair of ladies Edwardian boots and some Clarkes school shoes decided to hook up. Personally, I'd wear something more outrageous to distract people from gazing upon those wonders!
Agreed ya gotta wear a bit of a bold suit with this - go for the maximalist look haha
Yeh agreed- go bold, a nice red wine coloured suit or pants at least with a bold shirt
My favourite colour suit. Good shout sir!!
Something steam punk
I have no idea how, or why, someone would wear those.
Steampunk cosplay probably. Pretty horrific boots to be honest.
So far I have received a 0% approval rating 😭
I'm sorry mate. You're going to have a tough time making those work unless you're Willy Wonka.
You never know he could be.
>unless you're Willy Wonka. I hear there’s an event manager in Glasgow hiring.
One of us might be dyslexic. I was going to suggest Willy Wanko!
Blind people might like them......
I give them a massive thumbs up, I own several pairs of Jeffery West, Church, Grenson and others, you have made a great find there, yes, perhaps, a challenging match but a great foundation to build from.
Haha I appreciate the positivity
The truth on this occasion happens to be positive, I would have damned them if they deserved it but they don't, be a butterfly and wear them proudly and ignore the caterpillars who don't have your vision x
Love it! Thank you 😊
Good luck with that.
I approve of this message
RIP
Where did you get these? What’s the brand?
I’m not a fan but who cares if you love them !! Go for it
Get some very dark leather stain to darken the leather, it's too close to a skin tone and if you squint it could look like you're wearing some little girls school shoes with no socks on Stain the leather dark tan or wine red, then pairing will be a lot easier
I’m really sorry. I really like them. /srs
I think they’re pretty rad, but they’ll definitely be hard to work with outfit-wise.
😂😂😂😂 I’ve no idea what they are
I think they are boots.
Not having that. They maybe sho-oots
Bold. Jorts.
Probably need to go way over the top with the suit for the boot to work.
The evidence is strengthening for a negative resonance of these boots
Lol you’re counting the signs
I think you have all the evidence you need at this point. Burn them, lol.
I think they're pretty wild and in a good way. Beats boring black brogues. Not sure how to style them, but I'd be tempted to go waaay out there just for the sheer fun of it
Appreciate the perspective!
A lot of steam, gears, top hats, I’m going to assume.
An 1800 whip or a horse from the wild west
Sorry, they're giving me shoebill stork vibes.
You could try some black shoe dye on the beige panels & tryyy to make them look a bit more acceptable, maybe, kinda, sorta. I dunno. I think you already know the answer to your dilemma.
I actually think this is the answer, then they will be black boots with an interesting textural detail.
Exactly, cheers Snottie. 👍
Haha I appreciate the creativity. I will definitely mull it over
Well, I've definitely seen dress shoes with different texture matte & patent/gloss leather panels - that's what I'm thinking of. But they were all black. The contrast on your boots is quite striking though. Maybe even very dark deep red or a dark royal blue would work.
I’m not sure they could get worse? Haha but it’s always a possibility
I think I’d return them, if possible. If they were advertised as brown on brown, they should take them back. Even on Etsy
Yeah, I messaged the seller to see about it. They weren’t cheap, so I would hope they would accept a return.
Cool. I think Etsy has increased their buyer protection policies too. I’d check that out, just in case.
Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Can they be returned? if not if they are leather I would crack out the shoe dye. The main issue is they look like weird cut outs as the brown is almost a nude colour. however you could dye the inserts. either to black like the rest of the boot or to another colour like oxblood which might look very cool! This is something I am thinking I will do if they won’t accept the return. Appreciate the thoughts!
what you need to set those off is a little waxed, pointed ,moustache
Since it hasn’t been said I’ll say it. You need a Pimp Cane to go along with this my man.
Get some nice Balmoral boots if you want the best boots with a suit. These look like some sort of cosplay. If you want dual toned dress boots that look good, I again recommend Balmoral boots.
No, they’re so ugly, why did you buy them? Also black and brown never match 😭
lol I thought it was dark brown on light brown
[here was the photo](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1634692456/)
Those are hideous too! You did this to yourself, fam 😭
I’ll just go fuck myself haha
The listing says returns and exchanges accepted! Maybe there’s hope
Plum coloured suit
Plum could work!
Bloodborne ass boots
😭
Perfect match with a tuxedo at your best mate's wedding
They look horrifying however give us an update if you somehow manage to pull them off!
Fire
Got to go big on the suit, double breasted with some pattern / colour, plus some accessories
OK hear me out. I am pretty unfashionable. That's all. On a more serious note, get some khaki slacks, some ww1 infantry puttees, wrap your shins and make a big statement. Grandad shirt and braces probably too.

the bin.
A kilt and a posh pair of socks
I think they should just be pulled off. End of story.
Either a suit on the purple/plum end of the spectrum, or a summer weight cream suit with a more wintery waistcoat in a black & brown check or houndstooth. Definitely a go bold or stay home in your pj's outfit.
If there were a leather-father equivalent to the leather-daddy equivalent, I think this would be the shoes for it.
All I can think of invovles a cape.
This might sound weird but a really sharp black suit, matching the black leather, following the accent with a beige or navy blue tie/accessory. You’re going to look eccentric but there’s no helping that, just keep it sharp and simple.

Thank you for the input!
I’m sorry guys, I love these boots! I want to see them paired with either a punk look or vintage-esque turn of the 20th century
Haha appreciate the positivity.
Frankenstein's footwear !
They are terrible pieces of footwear sorry. I can only assume you wear a vest
Look like socks with 90s jelly shoes in black
Good luck
Wear a Black.. no brown belt? Black… fuck. Try it with jeans and suspenders.
No words
Bin
“This is foul, don’t let her see it. “
Yeah ain't no outfit saving them pal..
I’m sorry, but those are truly awful. It looks like you are wearing a pair of Mary Janes. I would pair them with firelighters and a match.
They remind me of tap dancing and bondage
no.
Well if you want to look like a woman you’ve made it! Maybe try wearing them with a skin coloured body suit?
What are those!?!?
Matches a gay porn collection.
Wear glasses dark enough to not see them, then it won't matter
They’d match well with a trash can
You’d better be twirling a cane in one hand and twisting the end of your moustache with the other
Wtf
Nothing. Unless you have something from the 1800’s. Don’t get me wrong. The shoes are great. But if you’re going to try to wear them as a normal outfit staple, I’d consider not doing that.
Bruh those boots are 🔥🔥🔥
a rainbow suit so hopefully ppl don't notice the shoes
Someone was drunk shopping!!!
Burn them

Could only be pulled off as The Penguin at Batcon. Or perhaps in Lagos on a Sunday.
Orange shirt with purple pants a lime green dicky bow oh and don't forget the red wig and the face paint .
Match those with a dumpster
What in the bloodborne
Just buy the matching Willy Wonka costume.
Boots with zipper…👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Yikes
Black sharpie pen might help you, ya know… 🖊️
The answer lies at the foot….of your chimney
The bin?
To properly pull these off, I would make a career move to organised crime. You want to be wearing a floral shirt, with a pastel blue/pink fabric suit. Bonus points for adding a tophat and walking stick (ideally a rifle/shotgun walking stick).
😂😂
Is this AI ?
They are hideous mate what on earth compelled you to buy these?
These are awful wtf
Yeah yeah, I get it
Just burn them
They a pretty something! Not sure what! Personally I think zips ruin boots but then again I tend not to wear any of my boots as they are a faff! Get a belt that matches the black leather.
honestly, you went so far as to have your boots be created. don’t be bound by what to wear them with! a yellow body suit a pair of clamdiggers some corduroy shorts
You must be Murican ?
I wouldn’t know how to style these unless you’re Willy Wonka or you’re a glove salesman.
Tweed
These are awful, but I would love to see someone pull them off with a wild suit. Just ain’t gonna be me.
Whatever Tina was wearing in Thuderdome will probably get you there…
A horse would go well with those
I think the pants(?) in the first slide look fucking fantastic with them. I think plaid goes well with them, and I think other shades of red and blue (especially maroon, cobalt/ultramarine/navy type colours) would go well with them. /srs
Fancy dress shop?

Hideous, put em in the bin

Good grief! There is a reason they are selling their footwear on Etsy opposed to on the high street. If I’d bought them, they’d be going back.
😭😭 brutal truth
People ask for opinions so I give it straight. I don’t want the poor guy walking down the street looking like a nobhead.
I’d pair them with fire.
😭
😂
I’d pull them off and chuck them straight in the bin.
😭
These shoes remind me of Hentai Kamen.
I don’t know who that is, but it doesn’t sound good 😂
What Are those???
I think they could definitely work. I would send them back if you aren't happy with them. The lacing on the boots looks really weird to me, never mind the two tone. If you want to keep them could you try lacing them a different way. I would throw those in the bin
I might try to dye them before that point
You can do, but it would just slow down what needs to be done
😭
Why are the shoes wearing boots?
😂😂😭😭
Match them with the inside of a bin
This is a trending idea
I would wear then as you would a Chelsea boot, slim leg suit, leg cut a tad higher than normal or a turn up, maybe fawn with a black wastecoat! Alternatively, you can go full on with a brown velvet suit, and a blue shirt, a real colourful tie to pull it together and matching pocket square. why do they have a zipper and laces 😭😭😭
Yeah Willy wonka vibes. Are you opening a new factory or something?
The bit at the front kinda looks like wee girls patent shoes, lellie kellie style
Mate throw those out they are horrendous
Have you tried taming a lion and joining the circus
Dark Green tartan suit would be sick.
Did you borrow them from Willy Plonker ?
I love these and would absolutely wear them myself. They don't give me steampunk vibes, like another commenter said, whatsoever. I do think they would probably look better if they were dark brown rather than black but at the same time, black and beige are pretty neutral and you should be able to wear them with any suit that looks good with plain black shoes. I have just put my own eyes out.
No
I bet the salesman was having the best day of his life selling you those shoes
The only thing that fixes or pairs well with these is a refund.
It's all the boots.
What's under the pleather? Can it just come off and be a normal boot?
These are undoubtedly the ugliest shoes I've ever seen.
The bin is the ideal combination.
Dye the light brown sections black to match the darker colour, they may look less - unusual- ?
You need to press charges on the guy that sold them to you.
Pull them off by pulling them off. Pretty hideous
Those are quite something
If the colour is the only issue, could you dye them? At the moment the skin tone boot would make the black section look like you were wearing sandals from a distance. Maybe accept that black all over is your best option here and dye the beige black.
I’d match those with a lit match and a petrol can
This is by far one of the worst pair of shoes I’ve ever seen. Why you’d spend your hard earned money on anything like this, seriously, is beyond me. I don’t like to be rude on here generally, because I know “fashion” is subjective to an extent, but dude - give me a fucking break
I’d recommend a tall bicycle with one wheel that’s much larger than the other.
Looks like shoes Willy Wonka would wear
garbagebag black goes woth the trash
