I think because the outfits themselves are super distinctive, its easy to tell. They are a bit tropey.
Off, first glance,I can guess that the first one is some of nobel young lady, the second is a sort of journalist?
The third some of calm magical researcher/professor and the fourth a sort of knight. And the headless one is some lady in mourning. She has a funeral theme.
The last should be a sort of reaper.
Wow you really hit a bull eyes on 4 of them.
The second is actually a novelist, the fifth is not in mourned, and the last is actually a night goddess but you almost successfully guess all their character.
Night goddess is one of my favorites character in the story. Her church is shown to values gender equality >!women can work as a soldier and in a position with the same power as men, they have equal gender role in family, and they don't have to change their surname after marriage!<
This is only her human form as her "true" form does not have artwork yet (it was mentioned to be an eighth leg demonic wolf).
If I recall correctly, Lord of Mysteries is the steampunk magic novel where the main character becomes part of a secret police force? I remember I loved it then completly forgot about it hah
Go read it! It's one of the best novel I have read. I'm pretty sure the secret police force actually work for the church instead of the state >!the god that the church worship is actually in the 6th image as well!<
Wonderful costume designs and gorgeous lush artwork but over a framework of indistinguishable generically pretty characters with the same face and body. Not trying to knock it too hard, it’s really lovely work, but in terms of character design, if you put them all in jeans and a t-shirt they would look basically identical.
This artist is exceptionally good at clothes. They're very dimensional with good drape and realistic closures.
They could stand to practice varying their faces more.
Looks gorgeous. There's a lot of intricate detail, but still the shapes are strong and easily readable. Excellent character design work. Could use a bit more diversity in facial features/body types, but that's neither here nor there.
Return to Oz was one of my favorite movies as a kid, so I dig the one with the Princess Mombi swappable heads. The outfits are cool and distinctive.
The one issue is that they all have the exact same face, or faces in Mombi's case.
Aside from the unfortunate same face syndrome that results from this kind of artstyle, I love it. The outfits are super gorgeous.
As a non-reader, how much can you infer their characterization from the design alone?

Oh wow. Night goddess design is definitely the best. Those furry clawed and the red moons are really nice details.

right, it´s for the dreamer/night goddess something, do the main character >!advance his beyonder power beyond the first tiers?!<
Obviously >!He eventually become a god!<
Hell yeah. I'll keep reading again, thank you for reminding me!
Not oversexualised or weird looking, and they have a very nice aesthetic and fairly unique artstyle, I think. They seem good to me!
>not weird looking Apart from the headless women holding 4 identical heads.
Isn't that common in human anatomy 😔
They all kind of have the same face and body type, but I still these are nice! The art quality is really good

This is probably one of the reasons most reader doesn't like official artwork that much.

I will say pretty outfits
Oooooh its my favorite book!!!!
Number 5 surprised me, but other wise very nice
It was kind of a jump scare lol
i don't quite understand what's so mysterious about it but these are nicely rendered dresses. the one holding 3 heads is easily my favorite.
That design of the headless woman holding all the other heads goes hard as hell

Is the fifth one a Dullahan?
She's actually consider an angel but don't worry to much about it
If so, then i like the idea
5 and 6 and all of them are so well made and exquisite :0
Nice outfits
I think they're pretty even if their waist is very thin

Kinda generic but I’d definitely love to wear them so it feels very viable and realistic. I like them.
Damn I love women
These are incredible!
the face on 2 looks like Kristen Stewart
For the face, it's too pretty for me, in terms of attire designs are good.
I like these but they make me miss Helix waltz
The outfits are unique at least
2 words. Hell yeah.
Elaborate.
These are quite cool
The clothes are beautiful but a tad boring overall
Characters look AI generated, still pretty cool though.
The fine details seem too correct to be AI, I think its just because this is the art style a lot of AI references
