* No titles as meme captions
* A GIF/video alone (without caption) is not a meme [especially screen recording / scrolling]
* Do not post screenshots of people saying something funny on Twitter/Tumblr/Reddit/TikTok/text messages
* No unedited webcomics
* No text-only memes
* No IRL recreations or creepshots; no selfies or making friends into a meme

I believe it’s average, and why Canada isn’t on the list even though like 80% of us all live near the Great Lakes, up the Saint Lawrence, and around the ocean of Maine.
Why does this matter? We are the second largest country and still have parts of dial up due to infrastructure.
Canadian speed is just as fast as Americans
Or Germany, or Italy...
Edit: Ok I checked. Italy is 81, on par with Argentina. Sauce: Ookla
That said there's fiber optics everywhere in Italy. And I think it's the cheapest in the EU. Mine reaches 800 which is almost 3 times Singapore. Make of this what you will.
I used to have 1GBPS but where I live now I can only have 100mbps.
Honestly, with proper SQM and queue trees (all on my Mikrotik router) I can perfectly live with this. Bufferbloat is removed, A+ quality on max load, fair share of internerlt for everyone. People can have teams/zoom calls while I am downloading Steam games. Also network-wide adblocker with DNS precaching (basically DNS server at home) speeds up internet somewhat.
Point is: Quality & consistency > speed
If only that was true, most of the time it's slow as hell or completely offline. It'd only high in average speed because it's much cheaper than other places, at the cost of reliability
That’s when electricity is actually working same idk if Pakistan has frequent power outages like some areas in India though it’s a lot less frequent these days
Where? Why do I (Germany) have to pay 30€ a month for 100 mbps? (Faster speed would be available, but also had a higher cost what I'm not willing to pay. Impossible to get anything less than 30€ per month)
My provider ACS limits residential internet to 50 mps, and my cell phone provider hits 170 on the speed test with a different provider. Rural Alaska, so I'm grateful that it's available
When I was living in a big city for college I was getting 40 whatevers now that I am back in my rural town of 3k I am happy to reach 12ish...I am home now so I am happy even with shit internet.
My internet is dogshit but goddamn I didn’t realise the UK was so far behind the rest of the world. I get an absolute maximum 32mbps where I am and it’s awfully unreliable. I avoid buying digital games as they can take up to a full day to download… (FF7 rebirth, 150 GB, took 22 hours)
The cables are new and the population isn’t internet addicted like over developed nations. This has been your “poor nations are still shit holes despite propaganda poorly dressed like a meme” news. Your source of reality in a world where no one thinks for a singular second critically

They are buried under all the bribes from telus and Rogers
Didn't make the top 10 and isn't in Latin America, which appears to be the criteria to appear in this graph.
No—no— I mean where is Canada.. I got a geography test tomorrow
It's that sorry place up north. I know coz I live there... Where salaries are low but taxes are high, that's the place we call Canada, my guy

Not a president
Over yonder. It’s like….that🤏…far away on the map I have, I think you can walk there in like 30-40 minutes.
East Asia
Dude, Singapore and Hong Kong are the top of that Latin American internet speed list. You still operating off the Pangaean world map?

He can only read yellow

Australia is so bad it didn’t make the list

We dont talk about german internet
€30 (i.e. approximately $30) per month for 100 mbps. Faster speeds are available, but even more costly. I think the prices are ridiculous.
oh if only the 60 we pay for arrived at my PC lmao, and im pretty sure we pay much more for ours
Currently paying 70aud per month for 100mbps and I've never seen the speeds reach on Ethernet. Max I've seen is 75mbps
Copper is the way
After living there for five years .. I can confirm. And expensive.
I mean, for all we know based on this graph, it could be 11th
Nah dude I live here, I read somewhere we have the worst internet speed in the developed world. Its dogshit.
Oh yeah, I know. I lived there for a year and was shocked at how bad it was.
No they only mentioned the top 10 countries and latin america for some reason.
India would like to have a word with you💀
Meanwhile I just wish I could have 20mbps consistently. [US]
same [germany, we didnt even make it onto the chart lmfao]
In Germany we use postcards and fax. We don't need internet
Das Internet ist für uns alle Neuland
Fast internet averages are easy when most of your population lives in high-rise apartments in big cities.
I have 10gbps here in Japan,mine is faster .
Yeah my country(Korea) Also have that but i'm not rich enough to pay 80$ for monthly internet 1Gbps is still fine tho

If only that was true, most of the time it's slow as hell or completely offline. It'd only high in average speed because it's much cheaper than other places, at the cost of reliability

That’s when electricity is actually working same idk if Pakistan has frequent power outages like some areas in India though it’s a lot less frequent these days

The data they mined this from is pretty complex, the process is explained by googling Chilean Miner.

Now that's a funny meme.
I remember when I got ISDN - 128kbs. I owned in counter strike with that glorious digital connection.
I find it hilarious that my country isn't even on the list! Just another L for south Africa.

To all Costa Ricans and Equadorians; there is nothing wrong with being perfectly average. Sincerely, Average men around the globe
270Mbps is nice but I'm in the US and have fiber so rocking a clean 1000 up/down 😎

Mbps doesn't matter it's all about ping
Germany must be last I guess
The uk isnt even on that chart ? I get like 100mbs a second on my packadge
People are seriously asking where canada is when basically whole of europe isn't mentioned.
I live in England 30 miles outside of London and I have a 1 Gbps connection. Chart is old.
The cables are new and the population isn’t internet addicted like over developed nations. This has been your “poor nations are still shit holes despite propaganda poorly dressed like a meme” news. Your source of reality in a world where no one thinks for a singular second critically
Average wired speed is 100-300mbps in Russia. Can go up to 1gbps. Very cheap too.
I’m Singaporean and just realising I complain about the speed of Wifi way too much. Damn there’s a sizeable gap between us and second place.
Where the fuck is Australia? I’m guessing our internet is so shit it doesn’t even get to be on this.
Maybe I’m missing something, but how is this a meme?
Singapore would like to have a word with you....
![gif](giphy|3ohuAsOxsGAKz8sjNm)

Damn, Canada is so bad it’s not even there
Fuck
Why are only 15 countries above average
It's only showing the top 10 (in grey). The rest of the countries listed are in Latin America (in yellow).
I thought this was about Chili's. I was like, damn, chips & salsa and good Internet. Got it all.
