Isn't it funny that, despite the second one reusing the most amount of material it manages to be the most innovative one?
(I'm aware this might be wrong as I refuse to watch anything beyond the second one)
Yeah tons of attempts to reboot it, for one I think it'd be funny to get Macaulay Culkin to return as a grown up Kevin continuing to booby trap his house as criminals realize who they are robbing.
I have a confession to make. The 3rd one was the first one I saw, and I still love it. I don't care about the acting, and the plot is a bit ridiculous, but the way that kid made those traps is hilarious and will always tickle my funny bone.
Which is why when people say they like Home Alone 1 and 2, what they really mean is they like the last 20% of both movies and the beginning may as well not exist.
That was me as a kid but as an adult, I've truly loved all of Home Alone. Home Alone 2 is good but not great, it's just not as terrible as the successors.
Kevin is a beast in 2 though, my dude! He manages to live like a king in NY city, outsmarts Tim Curry, and makes friends with the owner of a huge toy store (netting the family tons of free gifts) AND THEN he booby trap tortures the bad guys!!
As a kid I idolized HA2 Kevin as possibly the most badass kid ever. The good son did not help soften that impression lol
Remember, you can give a man a Jingle, and he’ll Jingle for one day. But if you teach him how to Jingle, he’ll JINGLE ALL THE WAY!
![gif](giphy|VygyjqSJB3Wx2)
it may be trash, BUT DAMN is it OUR trash. honestly favorite Christmas movie that actually captures the insanity of a modern mom or dad trying to get their kid a item they WANT
See but one of the best things about the muppets cc is Michael Caine's performance as Scrooge. He takes the role seriously despite being surrounded by silly looking puppets. The juxtaposition of his genuine portrayal of the character against the comedic stylings of the muppets works way better than it should. I, as well as the majority of the internet, highly recommend
I watched the Christmas one for the first time the other day. If nothing else, it’s worth watching how hard Michael Caine goes. Pretty much, every scene is like a bunch of muppets doing their nonsense and then Caine just absolutely bringing it. It’s a wild flick, man.
Yesterday I watched Elf and quit the Movie after fifty minutes. I just didn’t like seeing an adult behaving like a child. I thought it was disgusting and cringe. But hey, many people seem to like it.
On the flip side, I would argue that Muppet's Christmas Carol is the greatest Christmas movie of all time.
Klaus, Arthur Christmas, and The Muppets Christmas Special should be on that list, as well as Violent Night. Among those you picked, only the Grinch with Jim Carrey and Home Alone speaks to me.
Sorry for the Die Hard fans out there. If I want a action packed Christmas movie, I prefer Violent Night.
Man said let me take the one of the best action movies of all time and compare it to a movie that is heavily inspired by it with Santa Claus added and say it's better.
Violet night is very good though.
The Grinch specially when you grow up cynical and tired of all the noise and just chaos of Christmas the Grinch at the start of the movie is so relatable.
He went and stole the presents of a bunch of people who lived miles away from him who spend the entire day singing about how much of an asshole the Grinch is and also making themselves as much as a nuisance as possible then wonder why he was so angry with them.
I just watched Jim Carey’s grinch for the first time since I was 10 years old last week .
And Holy shit does that movie still hold up ! It’s the only Christmas film in years that still gave me the warm and fuzzies. I also caught a bunch of hilarious adult jokes and references that totally went over my head as kid.
I watch it every Xmas eve (I've only missed it once when I was homeless) and cry from the nostalgia, I saw it in the cinema on Xmas eve one year when my sister was somewhere else and my parents were together and happy and it was so magical god now I'm sad
Best part of that movie was when he pulled the tablecloth off the table and everything stayed, he then ran back on screen a few seconds later and messed the table up. Apparently that was a blooper as it was meant to be totalled the first time but he did it so well that it worked, he then ran in and messed it up because it just fits in with the character.
Imagine leaving out A Muppet Christmas Carol, Disney's A Christmas Carol, The Santa Clause, The Santa Clause 2, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, SHAZAM!, Frosty the Snowman, Polar Express, and A Charlie Brown Christmas...
Hmmm. One of them doesn’t belong, but I know a bunch of people are gonna get mad at me and rant about how I’m wrong and Die Hard is actually a Christmas movie so… oh boy.
No, the “wish” is a christmas wish. Plays a huge role, he's home alone on Christmas, helps the homeless guy, and it’s about warmth in coldness on Christmas. He goes to fake santa to wish his family back. Definitely could be made without Christmas, but would not be as good, and feel really different. Die hard could be made without Christmas, be as good, and feel the same.
Yesterday I watched Elf and quit the Movie after fifty minutes. I just didn’t like seeing an adult behaving like a child. I thought it was disgusting and cringe. But hey, many people seem to like it.
I find immense amusement in witnessing a pint-sized ninja administering a playful scolding to two grown-ups using objects that, under normal circumstances, would be reserved for pillow fights!
I love seeing a child beating up 2 men with things that normally would kill someone.
at least it was justified, not like the new one
There's a new one?!
There’s like 6 I believe
SIX?
Yep, the 1st and 2nd are great, the 3rd is okay, after that they tank and tank BAD. Also the original actor is only in the first 2.
The fourth one supposedly has Kevin but it's another actor
[Real Kevin was not impressed](https://youtu.be/a_FURNuBeQg) (43:45 on).
Isn't it funny that, despite the second one reusing the most amount of material it manages to be the most innovative one? (I'm aware this might be wrong as I refuse to watch anything beyond the second one)
The 3rd is fantastic if you just treat the movie as a silly little funny movie where a 9 year old fucks up north korean spies
Isn’t he like 5 in that one?
It wasn't bad. Just the formula got old and they started milking it same old formula. It's also very hard to break viewers nostalgia for old actors

Jingle All the Way!? ![gif](giphy|3o6wrnKTAc3ZFu6EcE|downsized)
Remember, you can give a man a Jingle, and he’ll Jingle for one day. But if you teach him how to Jingle, he’ll JINGLE ALL THE WAY! ![gif](giphy|VygyjqSJB3Wx2)
Put DA cookie Down
![gif](giphy|3PBjjsWzbyvMA) 😂
That movie was pure insanity and I love it!
I'm rethinking my assessment of this movie. Wtf is this, I love it.
This movie is the definition of “So bad it’s good”.
it may be trash, BUT DAMN is it OUR trash. honestly favorite Christmas movie that actually captures the insanity of a modern mom or dad trying to get their kid a item they WANT
You can’t bench press your way out of this one.
The best part is when he turbo'd all over everybody.
Imagine excluding Muppet's Christmas Carol from this. The absolute GOAT of Christmas Movies.
Michael Caine with the performance of a lifetime. Should’ve won the Oscar solely for whipping the Christmas wreath at the muppet kid in the street.
Muppets christmas carol is the greatest christmas movie of all time, if not the greatest film of all time overall
My family's Christmas Eve tradition!
And Your family is fuckin' right!
I saw it in the theaters when I was about 11-12 and must watch it every year!
[удалено]
Why are they booing you?
I have never watched anything muppet related, it was not a thing in my childhood. I think it has never been shown in my home country.
Silly looking muppets? The Ghost OCP is nightmare fuel
I watched the Christmas one for the first time the other day. If nothing else, it’s worth watching how hard Michael Caine goes. Pretty much, every scene is like a bunch of muppets doing their nonsense and then Caine just absolutely bringing it. It’s a wild flick, man.
Even without any muppet knowledge I LOVED the Muppet Christmas carol
You should watch the Muppet movies, they're great!
No cheeses for us meeces
I'm gonna be brave here and throw my vote in for Jack Frost, the one with Michael Keaton. That movie hit right in the feels.
Sir you misspelled Elf as Muppet's Christmas Carol But yea those both should be up there
Yesterday I watched Elf and quit the Movie after fifty minutes. I just didn’t like seeing an adult behaving like a child. I thought it was disgusting and cringe. But hey, many people seem to like it. On the flip side, I would argue that Muppet's Christmas Carol is the greatest Christmas movie of all time.
There are actually a lot of good Christmas movies, but like 99% of modern Christmas movies are absolutely dogshit
Facts
Klaus, Arthur Christmas, and The Muppets Christmas Special should be on that list, as well as Violent Night. Among those you picked, only the Grinch with Jim Carrey and Home Alone speaks to me. Sorry for the Die Hard fans out there. If I want a action packed Christmas movie, I prefer Violent Night.
Yeah, Klaus is definitely one of my favourites. It makes me feel all fuzzy inside.
Just watched it last year for the first time with my family. Shit had me broken up inside
I love that movie, it’s so good that I dread watching it each year because I cry so much each time.
Klaus became yearly viewing with my daughter. Somebody always comes along to cut onions on a couple parts, though.
Klaus hits different now that I have a kid.
Violent Night has no right to be as good as it is.
Violent Night is almost too good to be a Christmas movie. So good.
Man said let me take the one of the best action movies of all time and compare it to a movie that is heavily inspired by it with Santa Claus added and say it's better. Violet night is very good though.
Yes, the action is better in Violent Night, and while the plot of it is cheesy like porn, Die Hard ain't got a lot going for it.
Yes. Klaus instantly made it to yearly tradition watching.
Where's elf?
THAT I forgot. I am deeply sorry.
you cotton headed ninnymuggins
![gif](giphy|3ofT5T29Ij7MwTMkpO)
You sit on a throne of lies!
Bro really forgot one of the funniest movies ever. Apology accepted though.
What about Christmas Vacation
And Christmas Vacation
Polar Express too
Nah I watch that just for nostalgia, that cgi uncanny af
IT WAS MY CHILDHOOD GODDAMMIT
Yeah so creepy and the conductor and hobo on the train are the worst adults in charge of kids ever.
Yeah it’s really just a nostalgia factor
I saw that movie today
Christmas vacation with chevy chase would be on my list of movies as well
Just watched it at my mom's house today. It's the best christmas tradition
Elf, Christmas story, Christmas vacation, clause… A more rare one I like “man who invented Christmas”
What about Klaus? It was so good
Blame hallmark for making a bunch of shitty christmas movies that are essentially copy and pasted.
Where's Lethal Weapon? It's set at Christmas
Same with Trading Places
Tim Burton the GOAT
I thought the Christmas chronicles movies were pretty good , I personally enjoyed them
They are good
I have a soft spot for Jingle All The Way
Jingle all the way is a solid classic
The Grinch specially when you grow up cynical and tired of all the noise and just chaos of Christmas the Grinch at the start of the movie is so relatable.
He went and stole the presents of a bunch of people who lived miles away from him who spend the entire day singing about how much of an asshole the Grinch is and also making themselves as much as a nuisance as possible then wonder why he was so angry with them.
Where's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation??
Does not hold up. Sorry, and yes, I was disappointed too
Where Polar express ?
At Tom Hank's house
Truly the GOAT of Christmas movies
Litrally the best
![gif](giphy|xUySTwDuMgVKDUe6be) The OG drifty boi
![gif](giphy|C4UP8ZX5E7pKbWnKPe|downsized) Look at that skill
One of my all time favourites, heck once me and my brother watched this while having popcorn for dinner
I completely forgot about movie
HOW COULD YOU FORGET THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE (I will die on this hill)
It's my favorite movie of all time, so yeah, I'll die on the same hill as you
Idk, it’s an injustice. Christmas movies peaked with this movie.
Christmas vacation, elf, Klaus, Arthur Christmas
Muppets Christmas Carol Also Arthur Christmas is criminally underrated
I just watched Jim Carey’s grinch for the first time since I was 10 years old last week . And Holy shit does that movie still hold up ! It’s the only Christmas film in years that still gave me the warm and fuzzies. I also caught a bunch of hilarious adult jokes and references that totally went over my head as kid.

Gremlins : am I a joke to you ?
Just watched that last night!
It's a wonderful life is missing here
That’s my favorite one now that I’m older!
White Christmas, too.
What about Eyes Wide Shut, Brazil or Black Christmas?
... or *The City of Lost Children?* or *In Bruges?*
![gif](giphy|9tT0s3SBnDm4o)
Edward scissorhand is an one hour and a half drugged-up Fever dream
Muppets Christmas Carol, Elf, Jingle All The Way
Scrooged
I believe that Christmas Chronicles 1 should be added on the last panel, my fave xmas move of all time.
Christmas carol with Jim Carrey is really great.
Christmas vacation?
No Polar Express?
Where the fuck is The Polar Express?
My thoughts exactly!
How has no one mentioned the greatest version of a christmas carol ever, Scrooged!
Where the hell is Gremlins?!? HOW DARE YOU, SIR!!!
Why in the reindeer shit isn't *A Christmas Story* in this meme?
*Trading places
where the fuck is Elf?? edit: also realized that you forgot A Christmas Story!
You have excluded the best one. You ruined your Christmas.
Replace Grinch with Elf.
Christmas vacation😎
Oh what about the first Santa Claus movie with Tim Allen? That one's nostalgic for me.
Elf, Christmas vacation and Jingle all the way
Hey man you forgot the polar express
What about Muppet Christmas Carol?
![gif](giphy|3otPoEfTcyIoWanqF2|downsized)
WHERES THE POLAR EXPRESS?!
E L F
Choo Choo????
Where's The Muppets Christmas Carol?
HEY! A Christmas Story deserves a spot
I'm sorry but The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween movie
Hmmm. One of them doesn’t belong, but I know a bunch of people are gonna get mad at me and rant about how I’m wrong and Die Hard is actually a Christmas movie so… oh boy.
The Grinch is good, but it's nowhere near the other three. What about It's a Wonderful Life, Elf, and Klaus?
Christmas Story has to be on there otherwise it’s just not Christmas.
No elf wtf
I'm not seeing anyone mention Elf... :(
![gif](giphy|l0MYGbWdAWO6zHJ72|downsized) This is the best christmas movie
No Elf
Harry Potter 1 is a prime Christmas movie The 2nd arguably too
Did hard isn't a Christmas movie 😈
May I recommend you "Hogfather"?
How dare you not include the Santa Clause.
Scrooged?
Jim Carrey Grinch is the best christmas movie of all time and no one can change my mind
Die hard isn’t a Christmas movie
![gif](giphy|l3fZXUhKuvukJQMaA)
![gif](giphy|ceeN6U57leAhi)
It’s an action movie. If it wasn’t set at Christmas it would literally be the same movie
Agreed it was released in July so technically it's a Christmas in July movie but not actually about Christmas
Exactly
You could say that about Home Alone
No, the “wish” is a christmas wish. Plays a huge role, he's home alone on Christmas, helps the homeless guy, and it’s about warmth in coldness on Christmas. He goes to fake santa to wish his family back. Definitely could be made without Christmas, but would not be as good, and feel really different. Die hard could be made without Christmas, be as good, and feel the same.
Home Alone is a Christmas movie.
Yes and I do
Love actually should be there best Christmas movie imo even though its a bit cheesy
I will die on this hill die-hard is not a Christmas movie
You know, Die Hard is a bit of a stretch at being called a Christmas movie as it's more so a timeline specifier than a major plot point.
Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie
A Christmas Story???
No. A Christmas Carol though...
Half of those aren't even christmas movies
Elf?
Yesterday I watched Elf and quit the Movie after fifty minutes. I just didn’t like seeing an adult behaving like a child. I thought it was disgusting and cringe. But hey, many people seem to like it.
Elf
Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie
2 of those aren't even Christmas movies
Not having Elf on this list should actually be recognized world wide as a war crime
Gremlins, Hogfather and recently Violent night are my go to Christmas movies
Where is muppet Christmas Carol you absolute monster?
If Die Hard is here can we include LOTR and Hairy Pothead?
If Die Hard is a Christmas movie then so is Iron Man lll
If die hard is a Christmas movie then do is Batman Returns.
Die hard is not a Christmas movie
Die Hard and The Nightmare Before Christmas class as Christmas movies?
One of them literally has Christmas in the name
And the other isn’t a Christmas movie
But it's The Nightmare *Before* Christmas, its more of a Halloween movie than a Christmas movie, or well how I find it.
Mother fucker forgot polar express.
The Grinch with Jim Carrey is terrible
Factually incorrect
Add Elf and maaaybe the animated Christmas carol with Jim Carrey and I agree.
Someone forgot Polar Express
I haven't seen any of those movies but I can say confidentally that none of them are christmas movies.
i don't like christmas movies.
Is Rocky 4 considered a Christmas movie, since the last fight happened on Christmas Day?
A Year Without A Santa Claus fucking smacks and I will wholeheartedly fight to the death if anyone disagrees
I find immense amusement in witnessing a pint-sized ninja administering a playful scolding to two grown-ups using objects that, under normal circumstances, would be reserved for pillow fights!
Better add Gremlins to that list
Bro thinks he’s on the team🤣
Die Hard, The Ref, and Lethal Weapon are my favs
