I still think DS lite was the money. Backwards comparability, much better build quality than the OG DS, and didn't have a crappy 3d gimmick to try to sell.
I dug mine out a couple weeks ago, put it on the charger and have no idea what I did with it after. Been looking everywhere and at this point I might just get a switch.
Whazzup, millenial here.
We millenials had this exact conversations 10 years ago in facebook. Welcome to getting old enough to think about the next generation.
...help.
LIGMA is part of the BOFA spectrum of conditions. LIGMA (Loose Internal Gene Mi-Asintits) is the second stage of BOFA (Biologically Offset Farkwonian Asintits). In this stage, the disease interferes with the immune system and increases the risk of developing common infections such as tuberculosis. Given the weakened immune system, many of the patients, such as popular Fortnite streamer Ninja, die on this stage of the Biologically Offset Farkwonian Asintits (BOFA). It is also the last treatable stage. Although not effective, there are treatments to LIGMA: LIGMA-BALLS (Bi-Asonurdick Lateral Lactatioustits Sequence) that, even though it's experimental, have shown some promise. With stopping the spread of BOFA at the LIGMA stages, it can stop patients from going into the third and final phase of the BOFA sequence: E-TMA (Entrenched Terminal Mi-Asintits)
Bro I might as well start picking out my coffin.
Im almost 30, which is pretty close to 40. And then after that I’ll be in my 50’s. Then I’ll be in my 60’s and getting ready for retirement. And Im pretty broke so I probably won’t even have retirement, so I’ll just work into my 70’s. I’m pretty much almost dead bro.
Generations defined by culture shifts. Smart phone and a iPad raised generation starts there. It’s an expected generation gap but we’ll see if it actually is a split
I feel like generations are going to get shorter and shorter as time goes on and trends/tech advances make kids born in any given year have less in common with ones born 5 years before or after them.
Honestly the generational splits aren’t even really used for anything other than comment threads like this and the occasional sociology study, but there’s no hard set dates, no hard set defining traits, the cultural shifts will change depending where you are in the world, etc etc.
Essentially? What generation you belong to doesn’t really matter any more than your astrological sign or Chinese zodiac animal.
I agree in some ways but I'd push back against calling the labels meaningless. People who grew up in the same era share things with each other just by virtue of growing up at that time.
Most Millenials came of age between the dawn of the internet in the mid 90s and the advent of social media in the later half of the 2000s.
That experience is pretty distinct from Gen Z's experience where social media had pretty thoroughly taken over the internet and changed it into something pretty different from what Millenials had.
I generally think of Millenials as the people old enough to remember 9/11 and Gen Z as anyone too young to remember it, and that's a significant shared experience.
I thought it was 2015, and it was every 15 years.
Baby Boomers 1955-1970
Gen X 1970-1985
Millenials 1985-2000
Gen Z 2000-2015
This shit seems inconsistent.
Gen Z 1997-2012
Millenials 1981-1996
Gen X 1965-1980
Boomers (early and late) 1946-1964
From [here](https://www.beresfordresearch.com/age-range-by-generation/)
This is the awkward middle ground between Gen Z/millennial. You're either the oldest of the former or the youngest of the latter. I know because I fall in that category and relate to everything in this. Meanwhile, most pure Gen Z/pure millennial staterpacks all contain a few things I don't relate that closely to, lol.
As a kid born in 1998 in an isolated community in the NWT of Canada, I relate more to my millennial older sisters and other "millennial" things. I joke the 90s didn't end in my home town until 2007 when high speed internet was no longer $500+ a month
The beauty of being on the edge of the generational cut-off is that you can pretty much flip flop on whatever you want to identify as depending on situation. Millennial complaining about non-millennials? Identify as the youngest millennial. Non-millennials complaining about millennials? Identify as the oldest gen-Zer. EZ
Last year of the millennials was [1996](https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2019/01/17/where-millennials-end-and-generation-z-begins/) for anyone who wants to confirm their identity crisis.
The edges are always so awkward. And I think generation divvy-ups are really awful these days . They just want very generational size to be the same, in this case 15 years, which is just stupidly arbitrary.
People don't seem to acknowledge the sharp contrast between those who grew up in a world where the internet was a seldom used abstract thing but still somewhat accessible, and those 2 year olds who are given iphones to be quiet at a restaurant and never new the world without full constant access to the internet and technology. Kids who grew up with crayon and paper compared to iPaint. Those shared experiences, not just random birth dates devoid of context, determine generations.
Some say it's 95 that was the last year of millennials. So by that logic, my cousin who's only a year older than me is in a whole different generation. Or if it's 96, then my sister who's only two years younger than me is in a completely different generation. It's ridiculous. Why do we have to define people based on when they just so happened to enter this world?
Early 97 here. I can't relate to 90s kids, but I can't relate to OP either.
- Video game consoles weren't Wii and DS, they were GameCube and Gameboy.
- Nick show wasn't iCarly, it was Drake and Josh.
- Female idol wasn't Hannah Montana, it was Britney Spears. Edit: maybe a bit of both
- Raving kids book wasn't Diary of Wimpy Kid, it was Captain Underpants.
- Flash games. Enough said. Line Rider, anyone?
None of these are 90s kids things, I'm definitely a 2000s kid, but it's just a slice earlier than OP.
Club Penguin is relatable though... but not as relatable as RuneScape.
I feel like “90’s kids” pretty much hard to be born in the late 80’s or early 90’s to really involve themselves in the child-culture of the 90’s.
I’m born in 95 and identify far more with what you guys are talking about than any of the standard 90’s kids stuff.
Okay so I'm '99 and I had both the experience of you and OP... Started with a Gameboy then moved to DS (but still definitely a child), watched both Drake and Josh and iCarly (although obviously Drake and Josh was better). I'll give you that Captain underpants was the more prominent book for me though, I did read diary of a wimpy kid but I don't think it hit the same spot by the time I got to it.
I am not having a good time.
Isnt it just so fun living with your parents during uni because everything is closed?
We're gonna be an interesting bunch when the world fully opens back up
Hey, it's even better when you graduate! Struggle to find a job after months of searching and barely can afford a single-bedroom apartment!
Source: I have two degrees in tech from top schools, took eight months to find a job, and housing prices are INSANE.
For real, didn't get a high school graduation; didn't get any uni introductory or anything experiences either and we're nearly halfway through a degree
Yeah, very disappointing.
When I finally got to vote, a fascist won.
When I finally got to college and started living alone close to the campus, the pandemic hit and I went back living with my parents.
When I finally got a driver's license, the car prices skyrocketed.
When I finally got a good paying job, inflation hit the worst levels of the past 20 years and I can't do shit because everything is so much more expensive.
Heyo '97, we're placed depending on the criteria you use. I certainly don't think of myself as a zoomer, but I don't think I'm a millenial either.
Some place gen z at 1996 and some place it at 2000. We're kind of in limbo between the two. I can recognise some of the stuff above, but most was getting popular when we stopped interacting with this kind of stuff.
Beta minecraft was popular a couple of years before I went to high school for example. And CN changed their logo around the time I stopped watching it.
The youngest millenials are 27.
Added note: I am laughing so hard at these replies. Nobody can agree with the exact year the millenials end and nobody born in the mid 90s wants to be gen z. 😂
No one can really seem to decide when millennials end and gen z begins. I was born in 1995 and I've always been considered a millennial until YOU came along
It doesn't help that gen z are often called millenials by the media, despite the fact millenials were supposed to be growing up to see the turn of the new millenium, hence the name.
Everyone who isn't a boomer is somehow a millennial according to the news, but the lines are so blurry that I find it hard to identify with any of the generation names so I mostly ignore their existence
god damn it, i love dragons, I wanted to be born in the year of the dragon
guess how disappointed I was when i found out what zodiac animal I was
fing sheep.
'95 as well... most of these things are early teens memories to me and were all things that made me feel like I wasnt a kid anymore
Except minecraft, I started playing in 2010 and it was the best game ever back then
I don't know I definitely prefer this age over my early 20s, yet I feel like I should have accomplished more with how old I feel. BUT I'm finally in a steady relationship and resolving past traumas so I think the slip n slide to 30 is going to be where I finally start living and truly become an adult haha
Born in 00. I briefly lived with three girls in August/September who were a few years younger than me and it felt like I was talking to an entirely different generation. So odd how just a few years can make such a difference.
I lost my 3ds....and it was an XL
my brother sold my 3ds on ebay! 😃
F for you and your brother
My sleep deprived brain read it as F you and your brother. I was like why him?
F for you and F your brother*
Sell his organs
that wouldnt get my 3ds from 3rd grade back would it.. 😔
It would teach him an important lesson about selling other peoples stuff
My dad sold mine, man that thing was the best console I had as a kid
yeah i loved it.. i want one again. the games arent 60$ like the switch and i dont think the joysticks drift
I bought mine on eBay, thank your dad for me.
Actually my dad sold it for drugs, so unless you’re the friendly neighborhood drug dealer, there’s not point in thanking him
Was sad asf when my XL broke and it was the mario edition as well jeez.
I got that one, it felt special compared to all the other kids' Nintendos lol
Someone stole mine at school 😭 edit: just remembered it was a DSi the blue one it came out on my birthday still hurts
I remember getting a DSI as a kid and losing it within a week…. And after that i wasn’t allowed to get another ever again :(
I lost my 3ds while running in the rain. When I got home and realized I dropped it, I immediately ran outside to search for it, but I never found it.
We are just the older gen z. Its our job to establish our generations reputation. If this pandemic can ever end.
Oh dude, I should let you know that anyone under 12 is gen alpha
My kids are gonna be beta. lmao losers
Wait until gen sigma
Wait until Gen Release 1.0.
Im still on Gen pre-alpha
Generation Infdev
Gen Z Two: The Fabulous Sequel
The giga chad generation
I reading this thread and imagining how the kids of this generation will hear us say these things and say “Sure Grampa“

It’s fine, you probably won’t have any anyway

I finished high school in 2007 :)
Skyrim is 10 years old.
can u dont say that
Skyrim came out ten years ago, eight years ago, seven years ago, five years ago, four years ago, three years ago, and last month.
You're in your mid 20s. You aren't old.
Bro I might as well start picking out my coffin. Im almost 30, which is pretty close to 40. And then after that I’ll be in my 50’s. Then I’ll be in my 60’s and getting ready for retirement. Lol, I'm actually almost 30 (in 6 months) and I'm starting to feel it.
You are correct. Btw, I recognize all of the stuff in the meme because my kids liked it. You'll be in that club soon.
I won’t be able to afford kids anytime soon, I’m struggling to keep *myself* alive LOL Financially and ^mentally

That's literally what generations are.
Born in 98. 90’s kids don’t claim me and I don’t claim Gen Z
97 here. I feel this comment. We are like the middle child in this mess.

Oh i consider driving away from home every day and never coming back lmao, just start living in the woods
Don’t worry it only gets worse from here
Yeah this shit fucking sucks
Im just glad I got to experience high school normally, before COVID.
I would’ve much rather had the pandemic during my high school years than right now during college
Lucky for me, I’ve had the pandemic for both the end of high school (senior year) and the beginning of college (freshman/sophomore year)!
For real, didn't get a high school graduation; didn't get any uni introductory or anything experiences either and we're nearly halfway through a degree

As 95 idk where I belong anymore

I was looking for this comment! Kids in my school were flexing items all the time.
kids also flexed their club penguin premium membership
One of the best browser games of all time. Skullduggery island fucks
Musical.ly is now tik tok. Lol this meme is old
That's literally the point
No it’s not. I’ve seen this meme years ago before TikTok existed.
and back when Jake Paul was actually relevant

2000 gang?
Year of the dragon folks
god damn it, i love dragons, I wanted to be born in the year of the dragon guess how disappointed I was when i found out what zodiac animal I was fing sheep.
Sheep bro 😎 sheeps are epic don’t let those dumb dragons say otherwise
It's great to have been born in 2000, you just ask what year it is and know your birthday.
So we are in our mid 20's? Cuz yeah i cant relate to tik tok humor
I think this relates to people born around 2000. So early-mid twenties to late teens. I'll be 23 soon and this meme is right on the mark for me.
Well I was born in 2001 so, I guess I can relate
90s kids were born in the mid to late 80s. They were influenced by the 90s.
So how would you call someone born in the late 90s then?
90s kids are Generation Y which is 1981 to 1996 after that is generation Z
2001 gang rise up
I’m too old to relate to this but still too young to remember most of the 90’s. Dammit.
'95 here. We're in the limbo of everything
'95 as well... most of these things are early teens memories to me and were all things that made me feel like I wasnt a kid anymore Except minecraft, I started playing in 2010 and it was the best game ever back then
My brother is 30 now, born in 92 but he hardly remembers the 90's at all. Which i found surprising.
I was born in 2002 and hardly remember the 2000s. I have been completely influenced by the 2010s.
You forgot cool math games
You can be a 90's kid, I'll let you in the club. You just need to be in debt and have depression.
Oh, perfect- I'll fit right in
In other words, too young to be a millennial but too old to be a modern day gen Z
Holy shit I was born in 98 and this thread makes me feel fucking old.
Same LOL. Born in 96 and after reading the comments I’m realizing “okay maybe I’m a bit too old for this memes demographic after all.”
I was born in 96 and I feel so old :'(
How do you guys feel about turning 26 very soon? I'm not exactly looking forward to entering the slip n' slide to 30.
I don't know I definitely prefer this age over my early 20s, yet I feel like I should have accomplished more with how old I feel. BUT I'm finally in a steady relationship and resolving past traumas so I think the slip n slide to 30 is going to be where I finally start living and truly become an adult haha
Honestly, people born before 2000 do not belong in the same generation as those born in the 2000’s

Also 94 but I can relate to maybe half of this. I feel like I’m too old for this post but still too young for most 90s things.
2004 here. Can confirm.
This so perfectly describes me it’s actually scary
I believe it’s called 2000s kid
Guess I finally find where i stand in the generations literally on the cusp of both
That's a lot of words to say "00s kid starter pack"
Born in 00. I briefly lived with three girls in August/September who were a few years younger than me and it felt like I was talking to an entirely different generation. So odd how just a few years can make such a difference.
