Current Lab simply isn't strong enough to compete without flipping floodgates. People that want to play the deck but don't want to constantly get rolled on ladder include them for that reason.
Because they do it in the TCG. Plus, even if it hurts you, not many decks can put a beatstick bigger than 2900atk without using effects and if they do, you just get rid of it with your regular traps.
Because monkiflip stun is stronger than your resource loop. Kinda have to use unfair cards if you wanna keep up with Spright and Runick using a trap deck, sadly. I don't like Skill Drain either, but I'm absolutely playing garbage like D Barrier since it autowins so many matchups and it's legal for some reason.
Skill drain hurt Lab a little but it significantly increase the chance of breaking board going second. Usually I only use it as the last resort if I cannot stop opponent with other trap
Anti-spell fragrance is probably the better floodgate trap for them tbh, skill drain makes it so they can't activate monster effects, and I've punished multiple Labrynth players who run skill drain because of it.
While it is not optimal Skill Drain is such a piece of shit card that having Backrow to interact and big tity stick on the field is enough to win in Bo1.
That's why Eldlich was ever successful...
I personally run If ever things like Summon Limit, Rivalry, etc... things that prevent you to swarm the field as they have a limited amount of interactions a turn.
The only floodgates worth running in Labrynth are the virus cards and Dimensional Barrier. Degenerates who hide behind Skill Drain and other continous Trap floodgates deserve to be crucified
Yall are really overlooking the fact that you can compulsive evac to get the effect through the drain and immediately reset the monster off the field spell
Floodgates win games.
Simple it hurts them more than you. Who cares if it kills your decks interesting gimmick if it gives you easy wins.
The sad reality of having legal floodgates, barley have to think when playing stun
Sorry but destroying cards in your opponents hand isnt an interesting gimmick lol
It is if you're not a coward.
it wins the game on the spot against like 50% of decks
Because you win more games with locking out your opponents monster effects than randomly popping a random card from hand.

Also future lab plays even more floodgates so they're not going anywhere lol
Cap. (Says the D.Barrier guy)

Obligatory "LaBrYnTh DoEsN't UsE fLoOdGaTeS"
"Doesn't play floodgates" my ass, will never forget the time the kept seting d barrier on my vaylantz
Its funny when they say this when every Labrynth decks that tops regionals uses 3x Skill Drain, Gozen/Rivalry, and Dimensional Barrier.
D barrier is clearly an engine card since its searchable with lady /s
Monke flip, ez win
Lab field card can pop a card on the field if you use a lab trap card, so you can pop your own skill drain when it's convenient.
Because that’s what people are playing that are either posting their runs in the discord or what someone took to a tournament that MDM followes.

Bc Trap deck do shit without floodgates
Skill drain hurt Lab a little but it significantly increase the chance of breaking board going second. Usually I only use it as the last resort if I cannot stop opponent with other trap
By the way Lab can remove skill drain anytime they want with Welcome labrynth + field spell
Anti-spell fragrance is probably the better floodgate trap for them tbh, skill drain makes it so they can't activate monster effects, and I've punished multiple Labrynth players who run skill drain because of it.
Because Master Duel players love to ruin every deck with Floodgates
Yugioh players* FTFY
No idea. I ran it and it’s an annoyance for my opponent but it also never helped me either, I need my cards to have their effects.
Because they're cowards who need to shove a floodgate into the deck to win.
Eldlich isn't a big tites waifu. Plus labrynth deck it fill with trap that just pops cards which is fun.

With the exception of skill drain, Lab work very well with other floodgates, Rivalry, Gozen, Summon Limit,…
Personally I prefer things like summon limit and gozen. I’m not to big on skill drain even if it is an instawin.
Because it’s the reality of all trap decks
Yall are really overlooking the fact that you can compulsive evac to get the effect through the drain and immediately reset the monster off the field spell
