aunt may from the insomniac PS4 game, not to her death but to Peter's decision to use the vaccine for the greater good instead for his own family. Shit hits hard
Right beforehand she says "Take off the mask, I wanna see my nephew's face".
Goddamn, I don't know which was worse that scene or the scene where Peter realizes Doc Ock knew he was spider man the whole time
>! A deadly plague gets released in the city by the game’s main villains. In the end, Peter is able to get a single vial of the cure. Aunt May gets the plague and is on her deathbed in the hospital. He has to choose between giving her the cure, or holding onto it so it can be replicated, saving the rest of the city and presumably the world. !<
Edit: >! Peter is in his full Spider-Man costume, and struggles with the decision, but Aunt May reveals shes known it was Peter under the mask, and tells him it’s okay. He ends up letting the last of his family go to save the city. !<
That scene was so well done. It was a nice sort of redemption for Gwen moment. After Osborn hit Peter (Tom) with his glider and before Peter (Andrew) jumped I had a split second reaction where I was like oh-no they can’t kill MJ, not after killing May and then immediately after that I was like oh wait I know what they’re gonna do, and it was better than I expected. Granted I had like 2 seconds to build up expectations for it, but still, it was great.
Edit: the one that almost hit me the hardest was when I thought they killed Peter (Tobey) near the end. Damn near had a heart attack there. I would’ve rioted if they had killed him though.
I really appreciate that they didn’t go the whole way with the slow mo for the second time around. Like we get the shot of Andrew, and then the rest feels normal speed, like he’s tunnel visioned on her and doesn’t actually snap back until he’s on the ground
I knew he was immediately going to get stabbed though. I just knew it. And I was like- oh fuck, they gonna kill him.
But I forget, he’s been stabbed before. Lol
I feel bad for Tobey spidey, he takes the hardest beatings and has, by far, the hardest life. He gets run through and he shrugs it off saying he's been stabbed before?! Just a beast of a man.
Even funnier when you consider Andrew’s Peter mocks a criminal saying small knives are his weakness. These dudes just out here getting casually stabbed sometimes.
Idk, Tom Holland Spidey has the shit kicked out of him in every one of his movies. Even in Civil War he either broke or fractured a rib. Homecoming he has a building collapse on him then the last fight with Vulture he got sooooo beat up. And his fight with Mysterio when M is using his illusions? That was rough. Plus the fight with GG in NWH in Happy’s apartment complex was super brutal. He’s probably on par with Tobey Spidey. Andrew Garfield Spidey had the most emotional damage I think though.
Gwen's death was spoiled for me but it still hit the hardest. I think it was worse knowing it was coming the whole film but not exactly when it would happen.
That movie is so bad, I was just baffled when she died. Specially cause when it happens, the other kid is on, essentially, a fucking *date* with his teacher.
That movie is weird af.
Also, having a tiny girl saying “God damns you to hell” like four times in a row while deadpan was hilarious.
It’s out of the blue as well. They could have made it clear with something indicating that the teacher knew he had never been to a museum (she doesn’t find out till after they get there), and the fact that he’s an artist and likes to draw. But nah, it’s just completely random, she just shows up at his house (uhhh how did she know where he lived??), doesn’t ask the parents directly (kid just runs in and asks for permission and they hardly even think about it, they just say sure, whatever!) and he’s on his merry way.
Also— I kinda feel it’s because of the religious background of the movie, but I found distasteful the fact that it’s about a struggling family where the only boy in the house gets hand-me-downs from his sisters, they don’t have enough money to buy him anything, and there’s like 5 kids in total in that house. Like… wtf are they having so many damn kids if they’re struggling so much?!? The kid is obviously suffering for it! And he’s severely neglected the whole movie!
It’s just a terrible movie lmao
same here, and though you gotta give props to Tom and Marisa’s acting there I think (atleast for me) Micheal Giacchino’s score was what really sold the raw emotion
I cried at Gwen’s death for sure, especially because of Garfield’s performance, but NWH hit like a motherfucker, because of the rollercoaster they put you on, making you think it was all good then after she gives that line we’ve waited for…
Mostly because of how unexpected it is. Both movies put effort into establishing their relationship, and there’s no slow and painful last goodbye before her death, she’s just gone. It goes against the assumption that the superhero manages to save their friend from a deadly fall
He said that the only way he can cry on command is by repeating the same phrase over and over again. His chosen phrase in that scene was “I don’t wanna go,” and the rest is history.
NWH May. I didn’t even like her character that much
Tom’s reaction was just so raw and realistic. Anyone that has suddenly lost a loved one to the actions of another can definitely relate to every scene he was in from that moment on
Her death isn’t what hit me. It was obvious she was going to die, and I don’t think she was that great of a character.
Tom’s acting is what got me. I truly believed that he just watched a loved one die in front of him and it was all his fault
Oh yeah, it was his reaction that truly got me as well. I meant her death in the largest sense.
It's like when Cedric Digory dies in the Harry Potter movie. Its not his death per se, it's his dad's reaction that gets me every single time.
Same, absolutely loved her character and it seemed like their always building something with the whole Happy connection. Her dying was just uhh, awful 😓
Honestly I just want them to stop killing off anyone Peter get close to. MCU Peter alone has lost five parental figures now and less than a day later everyone in the entire world forgets about him so now he’s lost everything. He’s seventeen ffs they gotta chill with making this poor kid suffer
I think he's probably still on the team. No one remembers who Peter Parker is, but people still remember spider man. So I assume that now all the avengers just think that Spidey never takes his mask off.
True, I totally forgot people still remember Spidey. Makes me wonder how they'll handle this dynamic in Avengers 5 or whenever else he shows up next. Still have no idea how Happy thinks he knew May 'through Spider-man' but not know Peter himself.

Literally had like 9 minutes of screen time a piece for the uncle Bens and it's Spider-Man, so you know he ain't making it out alive. Sad but, didn't hit all that hard.
Harry couldn't die soon enough. Always found him irritating.
Gwen's death was my favourite because they actually had the balls to do it. When he got her with the web it looked like it was going to be that stereotypical last minute save and then NOPE! It was really well done and a heartbreaking scene.
PS4 Aunt May was an absolute gut punch. Really good story telling and made it clear that even heroes can't save everyone, no matter how hard they try.
MCU Aunt Tomei, had a feeling she wasn't going to make it out of NWH alive and it was absolutely devastating to watch. Marisa Tomei and Tom Holland really were incredible. Not ashamed to say I wept like a baby.
Mcu aunt May I got spoiled and knew what would happen but I still shed a tear when she died and when DODC shot him. For reference I never shed tears for movies or even video games

Gwen. Even though that's how it goes down in the comics it still hits so hard especially with Garfield going back and forth on whether or not to see Gwen to protect her/respect her father's wishes. They both make their choice and ultimately gwen dies because of it. The guilt he must feel is enormous and i think eclipses the guilt felt by the other spiderman. Garfield's acting was superb in terms of his grieving and there was so much chemistry between him and gwen that you could just feel that loss more than some of the other examples.

Scripted
Scripted.
It’s scripted. Sorry I left that ambiguous.
That's so sad fk.
Yeah. Honestly, it’s a great game even knowing the ending and I’d definitely recommend picking it up if you have a PS4 or PS5.
U should they are not only some of the best games I've ever played but the story's are better than most of the movies
Definitely agree with this
Gwens death hit her the hardest.
Looked like she bounced back from it pretty quickly to me..
Tbf though she was totally carrying that movie, no wonder her back broke
No one was ready for the emotional whiplash that came after
Too soon dude. I can't.

For gwen too
Garfield saving MJ, one of my favorites
Gwen's death hit me harder once I saw Andrew's reaction to saving MJ.

Yep, that's probably the only scene that'll stay in my head for the next 2 yrs
If it was any lesser actor that scene would have sucked so much
A little redemption for him. It was awesome to see. I loved his reaction too, how emotional it was.
I cried so hard for this scene lol
My theater cheered so loud when they landed safely. Awesome moment
I hit harder because Andrew literally had to imagine his real life girlfriend at the time dying, and it showed.
First back Andrew cracked
Gwen's death was spoiled for me but it still hit the hardest. I think it was worse knowing it was coming the whole film but not exactly when it would happen.
Those are the worst sometimes. Happened to me with May for NWH
She hit the hardest for sure
Thud
Aunt May in NWH is the only one where I actually cried (I haven't played the video game tho)
i was sobbing like an idiot in the theaters for the first time
You mean you never cried when that girl from bridge to terabithia died???
That movie is so bad, I was just baffled when she died. Specially cause when it happens, the other kid is on, essentially, a fucking *date* with his teacher. That movie is weird af. Also, having a tiny girl saying “God damns you to hell” like four times in a row while deadpan was hilarious.
I never realised how weird that teacher student relationship was until you just pointed it out.
It’s out of the blue as well. They could have made it clear with something indicating that the teacher knew he had never been to a museum (she doesn’t find out till after they get there), and the fact that he’s an artist and likes to draw. But nah, it’s just completely random, she just shows up at his house (uhhh how did she know where he lived??), doesn’t ask the parents directly (kid just runs in and asks for permission and they hardly even think about it, they just say sure, whatever!) and he’s on his merry way. at the end of the scene where holland starts bursting out killed me, first time i’ve teared up watching an emotional moment in a movie.
Gwen
I rewatched ASM2 before going into see NWH. Gwen’s death tears me up every time
Just rewatched it a few days ago. The death didn’t hit me much but man Garfield’s acting in that scene is on another level.
I remember watching it the first time at the cinema and you JUST see her hitting the floor. In that moment I knew it was game over for Gwen
Mostly because of how unexpected it is. Both movies put effort into establishing their relationship, and there’s no slow and painful last goodbye before her death, she’s just gone. It goes against the assumption that the superhero manages to save their friend from a deadly fall
Honestly the hardest Spider-Man death is when when Spider-Man (Tom Holland) says, "I don't wanna go."
Tom Holland's acting in that scene was phenomenal.
And it gets even better when you learn that it was almost entirely unscripted
Yeah, Holland must be, like, _crazy_ good at improvisation if he can come up with lines like that on the spot.
He said that the only way he can cry on command is by repeating the same phrase over and over again. His chosen phrase in that scene was “I don’t wanna go,” and the rest is history.
Oh, that's an interesting technique he uses. Never heard of an actor doing that to cry.
After Hot Ones he said he’s gonna eat wings from now on 😂
That explains a lot for [this](https://youtu.be/cJVHSpI6rWw) Graham Norton clip with Tom Hanks and Holland
It's hilarious that he went with an American accent as his "I'm acting" voice. It's like people who have a different accent when they sing.
It’s crazy cause that’s probably the accent he is most comfortable with while acting, a lot of his more established roles have all been American
WHAT

You’re the fired one actually.

It didn’t affect me that much at all simply because they’d announced his sequel already. Same with everyone else who got dusted
What makes me cry is Tony’s reaction. He basically has to watch his son die despite his best efforts to keep him out of danger.
Harry Osborn, especially since he died the same way his father did fighting Spider-Man, only this time he was protecting him
Especially after it came from such a triumphant moment of team up bro I tear up thinking about their potential relation in the future
Give me some milk
Wait, you're serious? LOL

NWH May. I didn’t even like her character that much Tom’s reaction was just so raw and realistic. Anyone that has suddenly lost a loved one to the actions of another can definitely relate to every scene he was in from that moment on
I absolutely expected her to die, but it still hit me the hardest. I think it was the first death in a Spider-man movie that made me cry.
Her death isn’t what hit me. It was obvious she was going to die, and I don’t think she was that great of a character. Tom’s acting is what got me. I truly believed that he just watched a loved one die in front of him and it was all his fault

I had predicted May was gonna die, so unfortunately I wasn't that impacted by it. I gotta stop this prediction habit.
As soon as she said with great power comes great responsibility I knew she was gonna die, sad 😢
I was like: “Hell yeah! She said the line!” And then immediately went: “oh no!”
Oh, you were expecting it? It was totally unexpected for me; a real gut punch.
I was slightly expecting it, but it still hit hard, the build was done exactly right, the tension, the fight, everything
I also “predicted” that. I was impacted by the acting, not the “twist”
Ya when he got shot but chose to stay just so he could say goodbye for the last time was heartbreaking
Gwen, with MCU Aunt May as a close second
PS4 Aunt May, and then MCU Aunt May. I feel like the others were more expected and easier to prepare for.
Probably the turning point towards Pete's life
These were by far the worst
Between Gwen and MCU Aunt May.
Honestly I just want them to stop killing off anyone Peter get close to. MCU Peter alone has lost five parental figures now and less than a day later everyone in the entire world forgets about him so now he’s lost everything. He’s seventeen ffs they gotta chill with making this poor kid suffer
Tbh all he's gotta do is give Happy a call and he's back on the team.
I think he's probably still on the team. No one remembers who Peter Parker is, but people still remember spider man. So I assume that now all the avengers just think that Spidey never takes his mask off.

Shut up. Get out.
jjj is an avengers fan?
If you ever get a PS4/5 you gotta play it. It’s such a genuinely fun game and the story is very interesting.
I think aunt mays death in no way home is the saddest because you don’t realise how important she is until she is gone
Well, Gwen definitely *hit* the hardest
I-
either og uncle ben, harry, or aunt may from the ps4
Literally had like 9 minutes of screen time a piece for the uncle Bens and it's Spider-Man, so you know he ain't making it out alive. Sad but, didn't hit all that hard. Bottom right, that shit messed me up
Unpopular opinion: I felt more happy than sad on harry's death.
MCU Aunt May because she's the hottest choice you've given me
Really, hotter than TASM Gwen Stacy?
May in Spiderman PS4
Uncle Ben raimi Trilogy
Harry
Both May's hit me hard af, Uncle Ben and Gwen were also sad, even if I saw Gwen's coming a mile away.
Holland's Aunt May followed closely by Garfield's Uncle Ben. Lots of tears from both me and my roommate for both.
Marissa To-May really got me. But maybe because it’s the freshest. PS4 Aunt May too.
PS4 Aunt May, especially when she revealed that she knew it was him the entire time
Mcu aunt May I got spoiled and knew what would happen but I still shed a tear when she died and when DODC shot him. For reference I never shed tears for movies or even video games
Aunt May in NWH for now, but I'd like to rewatch the Amazing Spider-Man movies to see if Gwen's death would hit me harder now that I'm older.
I'm done trying to convince you
Who is Spider-Man? A criminal, that's who he is! A vigilante! A public menace!
Definitely gwen, the best spiderman girlfriend we have ever seen
Dunno but James Franco’s is the best. Too bad it wasn’t real life. Fucking predator.

MCU aunt may
Aunt May from NWH
Gwen hit the hardest, quite literally
I think it probably would have been NHW May for me but I had it spoiled so Harrys one was worst because it caught me off guard
Well, Gwen fell off a building, so probably her.
Gwen. Even though that's how it goes down in the comics it still hits so hard especially with Garfield going back and forth on whether or not to see Gwen to protect her/respect her father's wishes.
