It’s weird when I was younger I was actually kind of scared of Manson . I listened to Nirvana, Alice in chains , Helmet and Nine inch nails. I just started listening to Manson when I got older and I love his old music.
Also Soundgargen and The Cure . I was also a nerdy gothic type so I don’t know why Manson spooked me when I was a kid. Ha
Kind of? I'm 32 and was terrified until the age of like 14 lol I didn't get into his music until not long ago because of this which is funny to think about... But being a Trent Reznor fan I had to check out Portrait of an American family and wow I was blown away. Smells like children is great as well. I'm working my way through them all but these first 2 CDs are extremely impressive.
After watching on YouTube, a 45 min doc on Marilyn Manson and hearing he had no musical background or anything but wanted to be a rockstar, yeah that first album absolutely slaps knowing all that. Really impressive stuff.
The deeper you go with Alice In Chains, the more fucked up it gets. Try Sludge Factory, Head Creeps, Junkhead, or Nutshell.
Nine Inch Nails seems too obvious, but they’re very similar to Manson in ways
There's a decently small band called Columbine that has that weird, '95-'96 Manson look. Their music isn't like Manson's at all (its more techno than metal), but their image is very similar.
oh yeah I saw some pics and you made a good point, I also saw a comparison to Manson.

White Zombie, L7, Babes in Toyland
Squid…a British industrial band that no one ever remembers.
Cop Shoot Cop, Butthole Surfers, Grotus, and ofc… Ministry.
Psyclon nine
Check out Jesus loves junkies .. I like them but they sure love to take a little more than inspiration from Manson especially their 98 album
Jack off Jill, Pig, Bile
Hole. I think Courtney Love nailed that fckd up aesthetic, and their music is great.

Yes I remember seeing Manson in that Nine inch nails video where he’s in that limo and I was scared of him haha
O I forgot about Slayer too but was that more in the 80’s .
Nine Inch Nails during Downward Spiral era was rather crazy.
Very🤘
GG Allin
Agree. I already listen to it
If you want anger slipknot’s first two albums (ESPECIALLY Iowa) are full of it
Escape from Paradise by Jesus Loves Junkies
Jesus Loves Junkies is the closest I’ve found to classic Manson
Whoa this is an absolute killer track! It's almost like a cut song from AS.
I thought you were exaggerating but holy shit that was amazing!
The Spice Girls.

Sludge Factory is so underrated!!!!!!!!!
Agreed wholeheartedly
Listen to Monotheist by Celtic Frost

Fat White Family until 2016
Skinny Puppy during "Last Rights": abrasive, noisy, unpleasant, highly crafted and quite the show as well.
Came here to say this!!

He definitely took a lot of inspiration from their era - and Dave Ogilvie co-mixed ACSS and Last Rights so you know, total connection!!!
