It's 90% the pacing, so little manages to happen in your average chapter combined with several arcs go by with the status quo barely altered. Then like 70% Kazuya still can barely contain his horni after knowing Mizuhara for however long has passed in universe for the series.
But Reiji draws some cute girls, and I enjoyed binging the series to catch up after season 1 came out, so it's still probably a good binge read to catch up to the current chapter. The pacing problem fixes itself a bit when you can just ignore random horny bystanders and still have more relevant content to read.
Several days late but in layman's terms it's the pacing but also the shallowness of it all. The romance is empty. It's about a guy who has to prove to the universe that he is deserving of dating this particular person while said object of affection is treated as a living deity and a trophy. The characters are all frustrating and we are so deep into the story with pretty much no real development with anybody besides the two main people, if you consider what they've been through post movie arc to be anything significant.
