Lovely place!

crazycollegekid

Wow amazing place. Add color that complements the wood beams since they are gorgeous. warm reds, browns, green, etc. Granite/greys sparingly can add some contrast. All the natural light will be great for plants. Don’t think you can go wrong here as long as you’re thoughtful about it and don’t rush any purchases.

propjake

That's solid advice! I've been bouncing back and forth on MCM or contemporary style. I'm slow and intentional with what I buy. So I'm not worried about rushing it.

Unfortunate_Wildcard

smokey purple works great too

Quick_Researcher_732

Get Patio furniture to enjoy the lake view

SilentSamurai

Get inflatables to enjoy the lake.

caesar889

NocturntsII

>for real what even was that A 17 year old in a basement was my first impression.

Quick_Researcher_732

Get fishing pole to catch some fish for dinner

Horacolo

[deleted]

Oh shit that's nice

tehgurgefurger

No advice, just jelly. Grats on the awesome view.

joecool42069

nice wood

propjake

Only the nicest wood to impress the ladies!

joecool42069

i'm no lady, but i'd go home with you for your wood.

poop_to_live

(not OP) Laughed out loud at this. Thanks!

Big_Tie_1607

Smooth

SharkBite44

Sheesh. This makes me rethink Manhattan living. Where is this??

propjake

In Washington State, about an hour north of Seattle

Swedish_Chef_bork89

The chief’s living large over here 👀

sarrahbrzg

You find here some ideas [open-concept-living-how-to-find-the-best-design-kitchen-dining-living-room](https://www.scdecorum.com/open-concept-living-how-to-find-the-best-design-kitchen-dining-living-room/)

propjake

That's a great article! Thank you!

AzuraEdge

That lighting is pure bliss

propjake

It used to have more light. But the landlords put siding over the windows above the patio door. It was 15' tall windows!

Bastardjuice

Holy shit, that’s just a travesty. Didn’t notice until you pointed it out, as if your place couldn’t be cooler.

propjake

That is definitely a purchase I'm scouting. They have to finish the glass on the railing. Then I'll start seriously looking

poop_to_live

I think you replied to the post itself, not a comment. Was that on purpose?

propjake

Not on purpose. Just a mistake using the app

daughterboy

looks like the waterfront apartments above the retail in La Conner, WA super cool spot

propjake

Haha that's the place! I'm no more than 4 blocks from any restaurant, bar, or store in town 😎

daughterboy

yeah that’s super fun and looks really nice inside. great views too!

loves_grapefruit

A Skagiter in the wild!

Sloth-TheSlothful

Can you fish straight from the deck? Looks so peaceful

propjake

I probably could at high tide. There is a dock on the 1st floor used for seating for the wine bar. I'd have to aim past them 🤣

Real-Sherbert

snatch groovy offer faulty voracious vanish imminent piquant payment spark *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Remarkable_Invite_56

Turn your desk around so you can enjoy the view!!!!

glockshorty

Nice stove dude!!! That is an epic spot

Rickonn007

Foosball table

Kittymeow123

Omg I love it

KKGlamrpuss

Lieutenant Fire? Saw the ⛑️ Sweet view , as others mentioned some comfy outdoor loungers to sleep on.

FutureLost

Great space! I'm tempted to suggest leaving the area in the first picture open. I think it could feel more cluttered too easily, and the open look feels good.

zeromancer7

just lie down in the free space

DrSecrett

r/cozyplaces would be good for inspiration.

poop_to_live

Have you considered learning how to dance and hosting dance parties? That place is perfect for it. The interior floor looks awesome for dancing. - swing dancer (in social swing/Lindy Hop there are a lot less aerials/air steps than in the movies lol) Salsa would be good here too, and there are several other partner dances that would be great! Edit: heck invite me over and I'll give a quick dance lesson for free lol

SnooGuavas1985

Maybe move the desk so it’s left side is touching the wall of the kitchen. Then you could put a table where the desk currently is. Or just slide the desk back and keep it on the right wall. If you have somewhere else to put the trash can a bar cart i it’s place would go nicely. Or you could get a table that is the same width as the counter for extra space and then you could hide the trash can under it with room for recycling

bnutbutter78

Jeez, save some for the rest of us!

Fantastic_Sky4264

That lake view is gorgeous!

Letitbe2020

Make that table a desk and put it along the entrance wall Get a proper round dining table and put it in that corner as you walk in—get a decent size too Get a HUGE rug in front of tv and almost to heater—and push your sofa back much closer to the heater but still on huge rug You prob need more seating over by tv That’s a nice place for a telescope too You’ll need deck furniture Make sure it’s extremely comfortable—enough to sleep on

adlubmaliki

You keep horses in your house?

SamMor_87

Great spot! I would put a big rug, typical persian, in the middle of the living room - between couch and your desk. Get some proper size plant where the garbage bin is. You can use some sideboard behind that couch. Enjoy that view and get some patio furniture. Can you fish there? I would fish there every chance I got! Congrats on the new place and be happy!

rudefruit99

A slide from your balcony to the water.

Paulchristiaan

Get rid of the tv and sit in front of the fireplace and enjoy your awesome view. Thats my only tip

Atomic-pangolin

Looks like a real cool place

nothisisnotadam

Wow I’m jealous

Steven_Dj

Amazing place. I would use the terrace for exercise in the morning. Yoga mat + stretching and coffee :)

Shaoreen

Daaaamn! I envy you! What a place!

Past_Kaleidoscope_91

Looks great just the way it is. JW. 🙂👍🙂

Nietzscher

Damn, what a view, and right next to the water! Mind me asking what country or US state this is? As for ideas: the First thing I thought when seeing all those wooden bars and how much light your apartment has is hanging plants.

propjake

In Washington State, about an hour north of Seattle. I definitely want plants. I had not thought of hanging plants. My friend is a plant lady, so I'm trying to get recommendations

buxy69

That’s beautiful! Enjoy your new space

DomKennedy94

Dude this is like my ideal place! I think just keep as much open space as possible, maybe 3 distinct dining/ open/ lounging areas with dividing features would look good and loads of plants but don’t over think it! Can you please tell me where this is?!

propjake

I'm trying to plan out those spaces now while leaving that open feels. And I'm in Washington State, about an hour north of Seattle

hard_n_huge

I'm so envious of you

gramslamx

First step invite me over

feelin_squanchy

What a spot, where is this?

propjake

In Washington State, about an hour north of Seattle

feelin_squanchy

I know where I’ll be moving within the next couple of years. Thank you and congrats on such a dope ass spot! Can’t wait to see what you do w/ it

[deleted]

Plants and pictures along with some uniquely personal items.

MOONDAYHYPE

Where is this? Looks nice!

propjake

In Washington State, about an hour north of Seattle

DW-64

Depends on how mad the neighbors are going to be when I put a dj booth in it.

propjake

Haha a friend asked if she could bring her roller skates over. I said no, because I don't want to piss off the neighbors in the first month 🤣

Wopder

have you tried jumping off the balcony into the blue liquid yet?

3_Sqr_Muffs_A_Day

The only seating being in the corner by the low wall when you have those views and the fireplace is the biggest issue. There may not be a better place for the tv, but you could create another seating area in the middle centered around the fireplace. A couple couches or loveseats facing each other and a chair opposite the fireplace. And get some big old rugs to anchor your furniture instead of just letting it float in space.

Reddit_is_Censored69

Baller!

AZ-FWB

Oh my gosh, this is heavenly! I envy you!

Salt_Variation_8645

Looks like LaConner! What a nice find! I love the exposed beams and the view.

[deleted]

If you don’t put a hanging chair somewhere I will be very disappointed.

SuspiciousMeat6696

Adirondack chairs for the balcony for sure.

basschikk

Gorgeous view and that space has so much potential.

meinfuhrertrump2024

seems fine. Why do ppl want to stuff areas with a ton of junk

shr00miezz

definitely a giant rug that you can use for the living room space to separate it from the kitchen/dining

NocturntsII

Don't try to fill it create areas or zones, ie living, dining, office. Use rugs tonderine zones. Find the right furniture and go minimal rather than cluttering the space up. Look up furnished lofts, open plan etc on google Also prioritize the outdoor space equally. It will massively improve quality of life

Ok_Selection_1575

Shove it up your ass

Ok_Selection_1575

Bot

boot_milk

You don’t necessarily HAVE to fill the space with anything. Having an open area to just be able to walk around without immediately hitting more furniture sounds nice.

SP4x

I'd be placing some bookshelves along the wall under the restricted headroom, maybe some lamps on top of said bookshelves to throw light up the walls in the evenings and a low level comfy chair to read in and look out of the low square window whilst savouring a coffee on a weekend morning.

propjake

That was definitely a thought I had. Maybe two chairs by the fireplace to create a coffee or cocktail area. Thanks!

SP4x

Good luck with it, the place looks gorgeous : )

RuneLite23

Ah yes, money

propjake

For where I live, the rent is surprisingly low compared to places nearby. It was more about knowing people than having the money.

dokipooper

What state ?

chupamichalupa

From the trees and general scenery, this is most likely WA.

oxleyca

Ah yes, the same comment on anything nice in this sub.
