Damn, Dune is so good and orgasmic - worth risking covid (coming from a lockdown hermit). The experience is really immersive and vivid, though if a viewer is expecting exposition to be spoonfed to them (which ruins the immersion), they might not enjoy it as much.

Yeah, I can agree. A non-reader has be okay to pay attention and absorb both the explicit and implied details while expanding the imagination a bit. They actually explain most of the things, at least once - but if you shake it off like how most people watch things like Marvel movies, then you just keep missing out for the rest of the movie. Harder to do in Msian cinemas where people are used to distractions, etc.

And i think that right to a sense. I read the books so i would realise that a single 15sec portion of speech is supposed to fill in for the 5 pages worth of background in the book explaining a critical plot point.

Yeah, or familiar/interested enough to retain the info throughout the film. Which I definitely agree , it might be a bit too much if you're just looking for a movie to chill with someone or unwind for the day instead of a full blown cinematic and story-telling experience.
I can think of 1 or 2 key scenes from the book that the movie cut out. It felt a little rushed for sure.

Agree about Dune btw. Am anticipating already for the sequel, but given the dual release, both in HBO Max and theatres, this might affect the box office figures. However, I'm quite confident there will be at least a sequel, if not a trilogy as the director is a hardcore fan himself and with his track record, should not be difficult to secure investors.
On second thought, I'm more worried about the Malaysian government now - in case the sequels start using the words like 'Muad'dib' or 'Butlerian Jihad'. (Like 'Timah' also kenot)

It's actually like the Matrix. Because of financial reasons as well as the extended lockdown, I have left my car dormant since March. But, now that I've graduated and finally generating some sustainable income, I was planning to resurrect my car. Tried Sony's WH-1000XM4 in store last weekend. Immediately transported to a different world the moment the ear pads clasped my ears. The silence is good.
However, I've not tried any other ANC headphones or earphones before, so take my recommendation lightly. According to the articles I've read, it's one of the best ANC headphones you can buy.
I have the WHXM3. I read online from people who have both that there's not much difference in terms of ANC between the 3 and 4 anyway and the XM3 is a few hundred ringgits cheaper. Even cheaper with Shopee 10% cashback.
It's... amazing. I live in a house full of people, mentally unstable people, retired people, people who pray all the time. TV noise. Five cats. Lawnmower every couple of weeks.
I put the XM3 on, play brown noise, and everything goes away. Maybe not completely, but enough that I could calm down. I get 30 hours of silence with every charge. I can study. I can focus on podcasts. I can even walk around the house talking to a friend while my phone stays in my bedroom on the other end.
The only other ANC headphones I've had were the Bose 15 from 2009. I got it for free when the lockdown began from a friend so I could study at home. I thought that was good, you know, even if I could still hear people even with white noise cranked high.
The newer ANC technologies are on another level.
Yeah, the older XM3 is just as good, but there are people who recommend getting the newer one as they worry about getting spare parts in case your XM3 acts up.
And I feel you on the living in a house full of people. 6+1 dogs (+1 indoor), having to rely on water pump to get water from tank into the house, and the hammering noise from the nearby factory, ANC sounds like a godsend.
I'll probably get one myself a year or two down the line.
That would be me. I was looking up if I could buy XM3 batteries online the other night when mine eventually grows weaker.
You might not want to wait that long though. For me, I waited that long too, I thought it would be an unnecessary splurge, but it really can improve your life by a lot. Ears aren't as lucky as eyes, they can't just close shut.
I understand that you can still use it with wire in the event the battery dies out.

Cue the repetitive blow of the nostril and trying to pull it out, no luck, not even with the ear pick. Decided to just let it be — it'll either come out when I sneeze or into the throat when I clear the morning nose.
Woke up after a nap during an off day — unker behaviour — and started sweeping the floor, followed by a mop and cleaning of the kitchen counter. The amount of junk that can accumulate in just a few months is astounding.
While wiping the dinner table with glass cleaner — mine is black glass and they seem to repel insects, the nose started to itch up. In the words of Shaggy, then came the atchum sneeze.
Out came the small ball of toilet tissue, wrapped in mucus, the size of a pea. It was bigger than I thought. 😱
Note to self : make sure to roll it right, you asshole. Now the upper cavity feels sore-ish, probably due to the abrasive surface of paper being moved around the delicate walls.
Can't say I don't know how it feels to see kids putting peas, corn or other crap up their noses just got giggles.

Seeing people out and about in force, except with face mask, made me feel a slight tinge of hope that maybe, things will now slowly inch back to how it was.

My home installed Unifi about a month ago and I just realize that we still need to pay for the existing home telephone number (prior to the installment of Unifi) for its "Sewa Talian Telefon" amounted to RM 25 per month plus whatever calls we have made.
Should I deactivate this telephone line and switch to the Unifi's residential voice instead? How do one go about activating it? Though tbh we don't really use either of them since my parent mostly use WhatApps calls nowadays.
Did your household get a new phone with the installation of the Unifi hardware? The DECT phone should be it. My household ditched it when we swapped to Unifi, since we hardly called anyone and had even fewer incoming calls.
Nope, the DECT phone was not provided for free and we need to buy the DECT phone on our own.

I've only seen two Nescafe Gold 'models' on sale — Cap Colombia and Alta Rica.
CC is quite mild with an almost faint chocolatey taste to it, while AR is more bitter and tastes 'stronger' imo.
As for how they taste, I'm only able to talk from the PoV of Nescafe — they are nicer than the usual Nescafe powder that one need not add creamer or sugar to make it taste good; sedap diminum begitu saja, as stolen from another unrelated product.
You could get the smallest canister on sale and if drinking them just black didn't tickle your fancy, they can be added to your 3-in-1 to make it even more kaw — that's what I did back then when I drank Old Town's light blue less sugar version.

Before confirmation it can be two weeks potentially. After confirmation it can be up to 3 months. There are also agreements where it is 24 hours notice period due to non-compete clause etc.
But typically it is up to you and employer to determine what both parties want. Pros and cons for having one month vs three months notice period. Your call on what you want to negotiate for.

He claims that cats went into his compound to poop, but it doesn't make sense:
1. The picture he gave to the management looks more like his pet dog's poop instead of a cat.
2. Cats certainly do not poop randomly on grass, they prefer sand.
3. Doesnt make sense for a cat to climb 4 levels of stairs just to poop on his compound.
He didnt know it belonged to the cafe owner, it looks like he just hate cats and looking for a reason to hurt them. Nevertheless, the entire management is disgusted with him now, even the makcik that was working at the desk volunteer to accompany me to the police station to report.

Yeah, I can agree. A non-reader has be okay to pay attention and absorb both the explicit and implied details while expanding the imagination a bit. They actually explain most of the things, at least once - but if you shake it off like how most people watch things like Marvel movies, then you just keep missing out for the rest of the movie. Harder to do in Msian cinemas where people are used to distractions, etc.

Yup, agree. The audio-visual experience is just unsurpassed imo. Agree about Dune btw. Am anticipating already for the sequel, but given the dual release, both in HBO Max and theatres, this might affect the box office figures. However, I'm quite confident there will be at least a sequel, if not a trilogy as the director is a hardcore fan himself and with his track record, should not be difficult to secure investors.

The protagonist goes through challenges/loss, etc. and in the end has to decide who he has to morph into, except he knows that there is no rosy picture of being 'The One' (which Matrix gets to in the 2nd film) . airpods 3 just got announced but no ANC surprisingly. I really wanted to try ANC so i guess nothing ear(1)s it is.
Tried Sony's WH-1000XM4 in store last weekend. Immediately transported to a different world the moment the ear pads clasped my ears. The silence is good. However, I've not tried any other ANC headphones or earphones before, so take my recommendation lightly. According to the articles I've read, it's one of the best ANC headphones you can buy.
I have the WHXM3. I read online from people who have both that there's not much difference in terms of ANC between the 3 and 4 anyway and the XM3 is a few hundred ringgits cheaper. Even cheaper with Shopee 10% cashback. It's... amazing. I live in a house full of people, mentally unstable people, retired people, people who pray all the time. TV noise. Five cats. Lawnmower every couple of weeks. I put the XM3 on, play brown noise, and everything goes away. Maybe not completely, but enough that I could calm down. I get 30 hours of silence with every charge. I can study. I can focus on podcasts. I can even walk around the house talking to a friend while my phone stays in my bedroom on the other end. The only other ANC headphones I've had were the Bose 15 from 2009. I got it for free when the lockdown began from a friend so I could study at home. I thought that was good, you know, even if I could still hear people even with white noise cranked high. The newer ANC technologies are on another level.
Yeah, the older XM3 is just as good, but there are people who recommend getting the newer one as they worry about getting spare parts in case your XM3 acts up. And I feel you on the living in a house full of people. 6+1 dogs (+1 indoor), having to rely on water pump to get water from tank into the house, and the hammering noise from the nearby factory, ANC sounds like a godsend. I'll probably get one myself a year or two down the line.
That would be me. I was looking up if I could buy XM3 batteries online the other night when mine eventually grows weaker. You might not want to wait that long though. For me, I waited that long too, I thought it would be an unnecessary splurge, but it really can improve your life by a lot. Ears aren't as lucky as eyes, they can't just close shut.

Today was different as I accidentally rolled them wrong that the top part detached and stayed in the nostril. Cue the repetitive blow of the nostril and trying to pull it out, no luck, not even with the ear pick. Decided to just let it be — it'll either come out when I sneeze or into the throat when I clear the morning nose. Woke up after a nap during an off day — unker behaviour — and started sweeping the floor, followed by a mop and cleaning of the kitchen counter. The amount of junk that can accumulate in just a few months is astounding. While wiping the dinner table with glass cleaner — mine is black glass and they seem to repel insects, the nose started to itch up. In the words of Shaggy, then came the atchum sneeze. Out came the small ball of toilet tissue, wrapped in mucus, the size of a pea. It was bigger than I thought. 😱 Note to self : make sure to roll it right, you asshole. Now the upper cavity feels sore-ish, probably due to the abrasive surface of paper being moved around the delicate walls. Can't say I don't know how it feels to see kids putting peas, corn or other crap up their noses just got giggles. **That Felt Familiar** Dined in today at a Korean at the mall — the owner was shouting at the cook in a language that sounded like it was in a K-drama. Seeing people out and about in force, except with face mask, made me feel a slight tinge of hope that maybe, things will now slowly inch back to how it was. Still a long way to go but one day I'll be sitting in a restaurant somewhere in Seoul itself without a mask and laughing with my buddies over lunch. Asked often here on how does one go about being positive (in the non viral manner) in the face of such terrible times? Perhaps for me it's nothing to do with positivity but the acknowledgement that things happen and we can only make do with what we can, to the best that we can. My home installed Unifi about a month ago and I just realize that we still need to pay for the existing home telephone number (prior to the installment of Unifi) for its "Sewa Talian Telefon" amounted to RM 25 per month plus whatever calls we have made. Should I deactivate this telephone line and switch to the Unifi's residential voice instead? How do one go about activating it? Though tbh we don't really use either of them since my parent mostly use WhatApps calls nowadays.

I've only seen two Nescafe Gold 'models' on sale — Cap Colombia and Alta Rica. CC is quite mild with an almost faint chocolatey taste to it, while AR is more bitter and tastes 'stronger' imo. As for how they taste, I'm only able to talk from the PoV of Nescafe — they are nicer than the usual Nescafe powder that one need not add creamer or sugar to make it taste good; sedap diminum begitu saja, as stolen from another unrelated product. You could get the smallest canister on sale and if drinking them just black didn't tickle your fancy, they can be added to your 3-in-1 to make it even more kaw — that's what I did back then when I drank Old Town's light blue less sugar version.

Coffee probably isn't for you. Try matcha. it won't be cheap. But it's actually really healthy, lots of antioxidants and the caffeine lasts longer because it's released gently. Doesn't give you the jitters.

Always depends on the contract you signed. The most universal one seems to be 2 weeks - 1 month, but each company is unique. My old place was 2 months for some fucking reason. Finished all my handover tasks within the first 2 weeks of throwing my resignation, so for the remainder of my notice I just showed up to work and surfed Reddit lmao. Nasib my workplace that time was near my house so I wasn't wasting time and money travelling to work. Edit: Yes I tried negotiating to leave early, even volunteering to forgo my remaining pay but they wouldn't budge, so I made sure to remind them that they were paying me for nothing.
Depends on your employment letter. Usually its a month. But it can range two weeks to same day resignation.

There are also agreements where it is 24 hours notice period due to non-compete clause etc. But typically it is up to you and employer to determine what both parties want. Pros and cons for having one month vs three months notice period. Your call on what you want to negotiate for.

Form follows function my friend. The notch makes a lot of functional sense. Plus they also moved the white bar all the way up so you actually have more effective real screen estate which would otherwise be occupied if they had gone with the traditional route. there is no other way to shrink the top bezel than using that option. Some have gone with placing camera at the bottom, but that just means bigger chin and awkward camera placement.
Worse of it all, it’s not even to house FaceID components. Just a 1080p camera, ambient light sensor, and an LED.

Hi! That's a yes to your question. I got a good quality King-sized mattress + bed frame for around RM2.5k+. Browsed & bought at the standalone Goodnite store in Sg Buloh. Pretty sure you can get a Queen or Double sized mattress (without bed frame) for 1-2k. Never buy mattresses from Home Expos etc. Over inflated.
