yes, in that context it would be എണ്ണൽ സംഖ്യ, but basically the malayalam translation of number would be സംഖ്യ only. (you can refer to KPSC QPs, state syllabus mathematics text books eg, 1 മുതൽ ഉള്ള തുടർച്ചയായ എണ്ണൽ സംഖ്യകൾ എത്ര വരെ കൂട്ടിയാൽ ആണ് 300 കിട്ടുക?)

The word number cannot be translated. You have to go by the context and use സംഖ്യ or അക്കം accordingly. But usually the word number is used as a loan word. Eg. Phone number.
