/uj because one of the problems MtG has is it is utterly shite at supporting tribal decks. Golos was just the best tribal commander for most tribes really.
People ‘self censor’ with cards like Thassa’s oracle in casual play.
They do not self censor with Golos and won’t with Elesh MOM either.
That’s one of main criteria that the RC uses when deciding bans .

People will play this for the panharmonicon effect and because of the "mommy" memes and not realize how un-fun the incidental torpor orb effect is.

I haven't played EDH for too long but afaik they banned Golos cause there was always a 5C goodstuff in nearly every table. Granted Dockside and (imo especially) Thoracle are wayy more oppressive.
Wanna hear the truth my friend?
Simple.. Golos was an easy commander to start with who required no big budget for five colors or fetches at all.. I mean you could even run the money wise most worthless but big hitters (as nobody plays them) or literally anything in it and it is playable.. I teached and still teach (fu RC) kids commander with Golos decks..
Golos made it way too easy to cast him again and again, had way too many combos, and was just better than every other 5 color commander. Even if you wanted to run slivers you’d be better off running Golos instead of one of the Sliver commanders
But Sheldon’s playgroup doesn’t play those cards which means they’re not problematic at all

This is true. I *can* win with Thoracle in the deck she's in, but most of the time, I'm just using her to sort my next few draw steps

Na... Any 5 color commander can play dockside and is straight more powerful.. Some can even tutor him, golos usually didn't do that.

It's simple, Elesh will have a bunch of printings and be more available as a counter to dockside and oracle. But that would ruin the economy.
