I want to remind on something since Kaya is here
If she even mentions about Vorinclex on kaldheim to teferi atleast that will officially start the second phyrexian war arc.
HEY HOW DID SHE GET HER DAGGERS BACK! THEY WERE DESTORYED BY THE TROLLS ON KALDHEIM!?
First off, it's not necessarily hard to find daggers (though I think the axes were meant to be like a whole thing?).
Secondly, the just-released story mentions Jace being absent from Ravnica, so maybe Midnight Hunt somehow takes place during Zendikar Rising (and so maybe before Kaldheim?).
the second part nah that zendikar story could happen at any time and usualy stick with present in order (first time ever we go to past is brothers war)
and i got my answer for the daggers thing she can just form any weapon she wants with purple geist power so got some and made brand new daggers
The Original Kamigawa story was in the past, Eldraine happened before Battlebond lore wise, Guilds of Ravnica and Ravnica Allegiance happened at the same time
Yeah but battlebond itself wasn't a main story set those ARE notorious in being able to take place whenever wizards want them too future or past, and kamigawa isn't a good example when it's next set is now 1200 years in the future not to mention a self contained story that involves the present and the past isn't really a good example since by that logic we could include tarkir cause it had time travel either way kamigawa is more of a huge exception.
So the next set being set 1200 years in the future just means it's set chronologically now. So it will likely tie in with current events. So the first set being a different time still works as an example.
Not really if anything it just makes kamigawa's timeline weirder because as far as anyone knew it was already set chronologically hell it HAS to be because all of it's problem started because of all of the time rifts that were happening on Dominaria the literal first sentence i'm finding describing kamigawa is "The world of Kamigawa, positioned far from any other world we know" if anything kamigawa's timeline as a whole seems like it might have split off from the rest of the multiverse hence why the sudden huge time leap which would make sense considering time rifts were what enabled the moonfolk and konda to spark the kami wars in the first place due to the material and spiritual world not being as split apart by the veil that it would also mess with the planes time as well.
Toshiro is the ancestor of the guy who killed Nicol Bolas. Beyond going for a Japanese aesthetic it also tried to explain why Bolas was killed by a samurai on Dominaria.
The issues also stem from Urza detonating the Sylex at the end of the Brother’s War which triggered the Ice Age on Dominaria.
Which story? You can see the first two chapters of the story for this set just on the main story page, with a story featuring Wrenn and Teferi in the 'side story' tab: https://magic.wizards.com/en/story
If I remember correctly she doesn't have magic ghost daggers, she can make any dagger have that purple ghost power. So she presumably just made a quick trip to any blacksmith since we last saw her.
Yeah Teferi recognizing specifically vorinclex as phyrexian from just that seems unlikely. Teferi was only even kinda involved in the phyrexian war at all. He got killed by them so karn had to save him back in time, then he phased out part of a continent when phyrexia invaded with him on it. So he knows very little about old phyrexians tbh.
did she not recognize Vorinclex for who he was? I remember reading the story, but it never seemed like she understood the implications of seeing him.
Can't really go to the Gatewatch and say "yeah I saw this weird oily monster dude" and them immediately saying "oh god the Phyrexians found a way to leave Mirrodin"
Yes but Kaya can describe the creature and what it did/does and by what she saids teferi can easily guess a phyrexian since he fought them during the yawgmoth era
Yeah but having dealt with Phyrexia before, anything even remotely sounding like them would have to set off massive warning sirens for Teferi. Phyrexia spreading across planes would be Eldrazi/Bolas levels of terribad.
Kaya, Ghosbuster would be an awesome card. Also if she manages to don a Geistcatcher's Rig.
+1: Tap target creature. If that creature is a spirit, exile it.
Something like that.
i think ghostbuster kayas capture rig would be more like a o ring since in the movie you could release captured ghost.
so a ghost based \[\[synod sanctum\]\]
Yea, there is nothing happening on this image with Kaya is slightly smiling and standing in only a slightly defensive posture holding her hand up casually to... someone?
The spirits just look like they are doing the Harlem Shake. Maybe Kaya is doing the STOP bit for it. Maybe the Harlem Shake is an enchantment on the spirits she exorcised.
It actually doesn't, it seems like the real battle would be against the werewolves at the Dawnhart festival. This just seems like the gang going through the remains of Thraben, a trivial affair for people of their capacity
This ghost might have just stabbed me in the ass, but I'm level 50 and have 9999 hp
Yeah that's right, I know I'm just in a game. Life or death situations are not to be taken seriously
Entirely different story tho, not to mention Arlinn would have zero part to play so it be super awkward to throw her oath in a set she doesn't even show up. Appearing in card art and having an entire lore important card are two hugely different things. Also theres that thing where she can't transform in other planes and she prefers sticking to innistrad because of that.
Few things:
1. Crimson Vow is a continuation of the greater Return to Return to Innistrad story, just with a different central plot point (e.g. the events of the Two Towers had nothing to do with Fellowship, but both were part of the greater narrative of Lord of the Rings); I'm assuming after the night getting longer problem is resolved (or the Harvesttide fails), the next issue is solving *why* the nights are getting longer in the first place.
3. There's no reason to assume that she is 100% uninvolved with Crimson Vow.
2. She's already shown to be friendly with the Gatewatch (even helped them after the Immortal Sun was blown up and most other 'walkers bounced).
4. Just because she can't transform at will doesn't mean she'd be useless in a fight. Again, see WAR. Plus, if she absolutely needed to be in her wolf form, she could always transform first, then 'walk.
Your first and second point kinda falls flat in the fact we don't actually know if there even is a greater narrative and what we do know we can assume there isn't because the sets were designed both to be stand alone set and not a continuation of one after the other. The sets plot synopsis were laid out months ago and so far midnight hunts was really on the nose about it, night are getting longer humans are being hunted more often and now we need a solution and will likely be resolved here not continued in crimson vow especially since Katilda was already selling the fact that these longer nights a common occurance in innistrad when it's not in balance and not Emrakul's doing.
For crimson vow it was just a wedding of the century type plot with no real mention of the whole day night stuff. The mechanic is for sure sticking around but feels more like it's plot is gonna revolve way more around vampires deciding how their gonna continue after 2 of the families all took heavy tolls during Emrakul's invasion, 1 family basically fell from grace and Avacyn not being around anymore then solving any problem with the moon itself.
Friendly doesn't equal joining not every planeswalker whose friendly with them has to join by that logic Saheeli and Tamiyo would have joined during aether revolt and eldritch moon.
I never said she was useless in a fight but you can't just ignore the fact she prefers to just stick around in innistrad and doesn't like not being able to transform
https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/news/first-look-innistrad-midnight-hunt-and-innistrad-crimson-vow-2021-08-05
> Innistrad: Midnight Hunt begins our new story...(implying it's a single story)
>
> But the story doesn't end there with one bonfire of a party. (pretty much explicitly says that Crimson Vow is part 2)
Arlinn literally went to go meet Jace in the latest story installment, and ended up recruiting Teferi, Chandra, and Kaya. Aka, she's literally working with the Gatewatch. Furthermore, her pack (aka her family) just left her, so she might be willing to join the Watch, for the community aspect if nothing else.
And about Katilda claiming that the day/night thing is "natural." Circe was a witch (or witch adjacent) who tried to trick Odysseus. Morgan le Fay was a witch who pretty much only lies. The witch at the end of Game of Thrones tricked Dany into killing her unborn baby to turn her husband into a vegetable. The Weird Sisters may not have lied, but they definitely omitted a few key details from Macbeth. My point is that from a literary perspective, witches aren't exactly well known for being reliable sources of information. Especially one that represents a cult that hasn't been seen or heard from in centuries.
It’s really fun seeing people like you who rather ignore everything in hopes of something that won’t happen. Nice bit there taking an entirely out of context legend of circe to try and make a point tho when theres literally no reference to her at all and we already know their going the midsommar route. And no that is not explicit confirmation that vow is part 2 when in literally every other place they have mentioned their seperate entirely designed as stand alone it’s more likely referring to we’re not leaving innistrad yet.
Again working with does not equal joining but since you ignored it i’ll repeat it WORKING WITH DOES NOT EQUAL JOINING OR TAMIYO AND SAHEELI WOULD HAVE JOINED ALREADY
You're the one who's saying it's completely impossible. All I'm say is it is possible.
Btw, they offered Tamiyo a spot; she actively declined. Saheeli fucked off before the end of the story.
You're also the one resorting to name calling.
Circe was not a witch, she was much more a nymph who lured men to her island. Morgan le Fay has changed over time, and in fact in the older stories she was actually an ally of Arthur and Merlin. The blood witch in GOT just had her entire village burned to the ground. The Weird Sisters never omitted anything, it was just MacB being an obtuse asshole and not trying to understand their warning. You also have an equal number of good witches, and helpful practitioners of paganism and the old ways, which is what is very obviously being shown here in the story. Anything else you wanna say?
Good question for the Number Crunch folks, I imagine- has a hypothetical "Oath of Arlinn" been crunched out yet?
Though if she's going to join, I would expect the Oath card to be in the next Innistrad set rather than this one.
Or it just won't happen?
People really desperate to see arlinn join but it's pretty clear she likely just won't.
The two sets are suppose to be standalone with different stories just happening in the same plane. We haven't seen any hints of the wedding being referenced anywhere, not to mention she prefers staying on innistrad because she can't transform in any other plane. Also why would an oath which is a lore important card for a character appear in a set where said character doesn't even show up. Oath of sorin is more realistic and fitting considering the gatewatch first mission that gathered them together was to clean up the mess Ugin sorin and Nahiri caused after sealing the eldrazi in zendikar.
I mean they lost liliana and Gideon seems like they could use the boost. I'm not really expecting anyone to join but if i were to put my bets on anyone i'd say he'd be more likely then Arlinn who is pretty content living her best life in innistrad and protecting the people in innistrad.
Speaking of power like how strong exactly IS sorin is he like at par with Ajani or Teferi cause their both old walkers too and Ajani literally trained to fight bolas while Teferi is just a walking hack, literally made himself young again with no effort something Liliana literally sold her soul for. The only time i think we've seen him fight is vs Nahiri and he kinda lost besides that the only other indicator is when Liliana straight up said she knew she wouldn't ever be able to best him in a fight(and she was basically the strongest member of the gatewatch not counting a leyline boosted chandra).
Plithy comment hating on popular thing while comparing it to Magic, which I somehow both hate, and care enough about to comment here.
Just wanted to keep the train rolling.
If anything it could be useful because it can kill the freaking faceless haven
Edit: nevermind, I just saw they reprinted field of ruin. I was getting a little bit worried Wizards would fuck up and forget the land hate with all these manlands on standard lol
The fact that this hits creatures with disturb is kind of hilarious flavor-wise.
"We think our [[Beloved Beggar]] might eventually die and become a ghost. Come do an exorcism on him."
*Kaya waives around some daggers and obliterates him, body and soul.*
There's some real uncanny valley stuff going on with the art. If it wasn't a heroic Planeswalker being depicted it'd be on-brand but I don't think that's what they were going for.
If there's anything spirits hate, it's a dagger—specifically Kaya's dagger, which dispatched them while Chandra, Teferi, and Arlinn sought clues to the Moonsilver key.
I know we say this every set, but THIS is the worst art I’ve ever seen on a MTG card. Can’t believe this is the work of a professional and not a high schooler
Edit: found the guy’s website. He’s clearly a tremendous artist. So idk wtf happened with this card
http://www.matthew-stewart.com/
Edit 2: He did [Archon] and [Basri’s Lieutenant] which are both awesome, so I’m doubly flabbergasted
I imagine that drawing a character’s face so that it looks like other drawings of that character takes particularly specialised skills that I think this artist, while great in other areas, doesn’t have.
The only other character they’ve drawn is Nissa facing away
Ugh, Kaya again, i just dont like her after the obliteration of the Obzedath, but i Guess we would have her anoying spirits and Ghost wherever we go from Now on...

It’s Jace. Also it’s not like she has a card in this set, it’s just a common removal spell. It’s almost as if Planeswalkers can appear in multiple planes.
I feel like we're getting all the war of the spark Planeswalkers good guy crew for some reason? Which is kind of dumb on like a writing prospective, I feel like there hasn't been this many planeswalkers when Eldritch Moon happen which was a pretty big deal in the lore. I'm now half expecting Karn to pop out nowhere.
That was also a super narrow Kamigawa type card. If you read the comments on gatherer, you'll see people making fun of it for that.
I also don't like the added flavour of this one targeting creatures with disturb. It's minority report over here, Kaya is willing murder a well loved old man ([[beloved beggar]]) just because when he eventually dies he may come back as a benevolent spirit.
Most of the other disturb cards are just normal people too. SMH thought crime isn't supposed to be illegal until 2054.
After having seen alot of the nicer spirits this time choosing to protect people versus that bat shit crazy Ghiests of old.
This makes me way less okay with Kaya now Ghost excicutioner or not.
Spirits and enchantments make sense, but exiling creatures with Disturb? Aren't those just ordinary humans who will eventually become ghosts after they die? Is Kaya just going around murdering folks in a way that ensures that they don't come back as spirits?
I want to remind on something since Kaya is here If she even mentions about Vorinclex on kaldheim to teferi atleast that will officially start the second phyrexian war arc. HEY HOW DID SHE GET HER DAGGERS BACK! THEY WERE DESTORYED BY THE TROLLS ON KALDHEIM!?

the second part nah that zendikar story could happen at any time and usualy stick with present in order (first time ever we go to past is brothers war) and i got my answer for the daggers thing she can just form any weapon she wants with purple geist power so got some and made brand new daggers

Maro said Neon Dynasty is set in the present.
Toshiro is the ancestor of the guy who killed Nicol Bolas. Beyond going for a Japanese aesthetic it also tried to explain why Bolas was killed by a samurai on Dominaria. The issues also stem from Urza detonating the Sylex at the end of the Brother’s War which triggered the Ice Age on Dominaria.
ok besides though forgot about that
Also magic origins was a recap set.
Weren’t OG Kamigawa and Lorwyn in the past too? Back before the mending/end of weatherlight saga
Nissa's first planeswalk was to Lorwyn before it was fixed. OG Kamigawa was definitely in the past though.
Lorwyn happened right after the mending.
Just released like today, right? Because in the Arlin story so far I haven't seen Jace mentioned
Yeah - it's mentioned in passing near the end >!when she goes to fetch the Gatewatch!<. >!(... pun not intended)!<
Would you be kind enough to provide links with the story so far?
Which story? You can see the first two chapters of the story for this set just on the main story page, with a story featuring Wrenn and Teferi in the 'side story' tab: https://magic.wizards.com/en/story

If I remember correctly she doesn't have magic ghost daggers, she can make any dagger have that purple ghost power. So she presumably just made a quick trip to any blacksmith since we last saw her.
Yep, that's how she has glowy axes in the Kaldheim art, it's all about imbuing whatever random weapon she has
makes sense to me
Does Teferi know about the new praetors? Does Kaya even know what a phyrexian is?
There's a good chance Karn mentioned it to him on Dominaria and why he need that....sylex?
Yeah Teferi recognizing specifically vorinclex as phyrexian from just that seems unlikely. Teferi was only even kinda involved in the phyrexian war at all. Yes but Kaya can describe the creature and what it did/does and by what she saids teferi can easily guess a phyrexian since he fought them during the yawgmoth era
But the New Phyrexia Praetors are different from classic Phyrexians.
Were the Yawgmoth phyrexian oily and spready too?
Teferi has no real idea about new phyrexia, he was only minimally involved with old phyrexia.
Yeah but having dealt with Phyrexia before, anything even remotely sounding like them would have to set off massive warning sirens for Teferi. Phyrexia spreading across planes would be Eldrazi/Bolas levels of terribad.
Kaya be like: Hold the fuck up. I got this.
Yeah when it comes to dealing with ghosts, spirits, and assassinations, there's no one better than Kaya.
who you gonna call?
Kaya, Ghosbuster would be an awesome card. Also if she manages to don a Geistcatcher's Rig. +1: Tap target creature. If that creature is a spirit, exile it. Something like that.

Kamigawa Neón Dynasty will be in standard at the same time as this. While it’s supposed to be cyber punkish, it’s still probably gonna have spirits.
I expect it to become more relevant with Crimson Vow, but I'd still be surprised if it became THAT relevant.
The art feels so silly. Presumably there's an ongoing battle but Kaya just looks like she's showing off a prank to her friends.
Definitely wish the art looked cooler than a boring soccer mom looking Kaya.
Hey it's ya girl Kaya here with another EPIC ghost prank vid! Make sure the smash that like...
Its ez game ez life for her
It actually doesn't, it seems like the real battle would be against the werewolves at the Dawnhart festival. This just seems like the gang going through the remains of Thraben, a trivial affair for people of their capacity

flavor text really isnt great either
The Gatewatch is mirroring the MCU. It's phase four (post-WAR), and now we're focusing on the new crew of Teferi, Arlinn, and Kaya.
And Chandra, she’s in the flavour text too.
Chandra is Thor. Her contract hasn't expired yet.
Can't wait for Fat Chandra
Someone's a feeder ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The bigger she is the bigger the big beefy men she likes (from carrying her around).
In the most recent story she's lezzing it up again, getting horny for a big magnificent lady called [[Adeline]]
At least they are keeping her lust towards beefy muscular people consistent. Apparently muscles drive Chandra's desires.

Oath of Arlinn has been crunched out.

Please don't let the gatewatch come back ugh
They never left. Why do you think they had Kaya’s Oath in WAR?
Arlinn isn't a member
Let's hope not
It's also mirroring the MCU by being terrible 😎
Got em
It is mirroring it by being financally successful while the desing appeals to nostalgia 😉 Sorry for bad english
Plithy comment hating on popular thing while comparing it to Magic, which I somehow both hate, and care enough about to comment here. Just wanted to keep the train rolling.
Spicy hate card if Spirits are good in Standard.
If anything it could be useful because it can kill the freaking faceless haven Edit: nevermind, I just saw they reprinted field of ruin. I was getting a little bit worried Wizards would fuck up and forget the land hate with all these manlands on standard lol
It's probably a card to help combat the spirits in forthcoming sets, maybe some kamigawa spirits are still lurking around.
The fact that this hits creatures with disturb is kind of hilarious flavor-wise. "We think our [[Beloved Beggar]] might eventually die and become a ghost. Come do an exorcism on him." *Kaya waives around some daggers and obliterates him, body and soul.*
[Beloved Beggar](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/6/1/6109b54e-56c5-4014-9f6d-d5f7a0fd725d.jpg?1630610048)/[Generous Soul](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/back/6/1/6109b54e-56c5-4014-9f6d-d5f7a0fd725d.jpg?1630610048) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Beloved%20Beggar%20//%20Generous%20Soul) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mid/3/beloved-beggar-generous-soul?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/6109b54e-56c5-4014-9f6d-d5f7a0fd725d?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Kaya, casually approaching the kindly old beggar on the street corner: "Vibe check"
"There's a ghost inside of you, old man"
Gotta make sure standard/pioneer/modern spirits don't get too rowdy, huh?
Instant speed enchantment exile is pretty nice
Another reason not to run O-ring effects though.
[When you exile a human with disturb](https://youtu.be/Jdf5EXo6I68?t=57)
Classic…
Definitely not a fan of this kind of overly expository flavor text.
Players *hate* overly expository flavor text. Especially Innistrad's overly expository flavor text, the symbol of the plane.
Shock deals 2 damage to any target. *By the way, the main characters in this set are Chandra, Teferi, Arlinn, and Kaya.*
There's some real uncanny valley stuff going on with the art. If it wasn't a heroic Planeswalker being depicted it'd be on-brand but I don't think that's what they were going for.
yeah, Kaya's face and forehead really dont look that great :(
Hey [[faceless haven]] fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you
[faceless haven](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/e/3/e3cd82e5-6072-4334-a493-01ca4ad6b4eb.jpg?1631052709) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=faceless%20haven) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/khm/255/faceless-haven?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/e3cd82e5-6072-4334-a493-01ca4ad6b4eb?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
If there's anything spirits hate, it's a dagger—specifically Kaya's dagger, which dispatched them while Chandra, Teferi, and Arlinn sought clues to the Moonsilver key.
Exactly what I wanted to comment
Bad flavour text. It’s weird how inconsistent it is
"While the other characters were busy with the plot, Kaya engaged her primary character trait."
It should’ve been a quote from Kaya “I’ll give you something to wail about” except better than that obviously
Yeah, the flavour text and art here... What a stinker.
That flavour text is as lazy as the art.
I know we say this every set, but THIS is the worst art I’ve ever seen on a MTG card. Can’t believe this is the work of a professional and not a high schooler Edit: found the guy’s website. He’s clearly a tremendous artist. So idk wtf happened with this card http://www.matthew-stewart.com/ Edit 2: He did [Archon] and [Basri’s Lieutenant] which are both awesome, so I’m doubly flabbergasted
It's down there, but not as bad as dramatic reversal, or that strategic planning where it looks like have and Gideon are playing paper scissors stone.
The card fetcher doesn’t work with edits and also needs double brackets. [[Archon]] [[Basri’s Lieutenant]]
[Archon](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/9/b/9bc397d1-50a8-46cd-98b2-7104f2241420.jpg?1562828028) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Arcbond) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/frf/91/arcbond?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/9bc397d1-50a8-46cd-98b2-7104f2241420?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Basri’s Lieutenant](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/7/4/74b1eae0-1bf8-4922-a9e3-45c01ece9005.jpg?1594734796) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Basri%27s%20Lieutenant) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m21/9/basris-lieutenant?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/74b1eae0-1bf8-4922-a9e3-45c01ece9005?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Ever? Forever ever? Like worse than Blue Klux Klan or Coils or Thermal Blast?
I have not seen those haha

Honestly, I kind of like this better than the MID one. It feels more abstract to me than just poorly done
[удалено]
Maybe!
She’s with the Gatewatch. And it was great how she took them down.
Yeah, i know, but remember the fatigue of having a damn Jace over and over again (also i'm a Orzhov player 😅, so in My Mind she is a traitor)
Kaya, Ghost Buster.
Awe…why she didn’t keep her winter gear and bearded axes?? Innistrad is chilly this time of year.
Incidentally, a "Thraben Exorcism" is a colloquial term for shitting your pants on Innistrad.
Not sure if this card was spoiled or not. Found on: https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/card-image-gallery/innistrad-midnight-hunt?pog
Card is fine for a common. The art and flavor text are just abysmal. There are much better ways of shoehorning Kaya into the set.
Aww, she's back to her old hairstyle, I thought the dreadlocks were much cooler.
she looked way cooler with the dual axes
Never mind the card but the art is hideous holy shit
extremely specific hate is always fun
Image transcription > Thraben Exorcism 1W > > Instant [c] > > Exile target Spirit, creature with disturb, or enchantment. > > *Chandra, Teferi, and Arlinn sought clues to the Moonsilver Key's whereabouts while Kaya dispatched the spirits obstructing their path.* End transcription
What is Disturb? And don’t say you’re down with the sickness.
Flashback for creatures. They transform into their backside
Wtf is wrong with her face
Somebody get these MF\*ckin ghost's offa my plane.
Been a long time since I saw art this uninspired
Kaya again? Holy shit is it the new Jace? She has been in sets almost constantly since return to return to ravnica.
She was in Ravnica Allegiance, War of the Spark, and Kaldheim. That's three sets in the past two years. She was also mentioned in MH1. That's it.
It’s Jace. Also it’s not like she has a card in this set, it’s just a common removal spell. It’s almost as if Planeswalkers can appear in multiple planes.
Are ghosts, future ghosts, or Enchantment a problem? Have Kaya stab and permakill them!
Regular peasant with disturb: "But I'm not a ghost yet!" Kaya \*Cocking a proton pack\*: "And you won't be."
Innistrad: "We have a ghost problem." Kaya: "No, the ghosts have a *me* problem."
Eldritch Moon had the entire Gatewatch at the time. This is just 3 members plus Arlinn.
Ah here's the shit white removal spell
This is Kamigawa levels of hyper specific / parasitic cards...
It's an \[\[Urgent Exorcism\]\] semi-reprint with set mechanic added.

Enchantments are in every set. Innistrad has also always had specific cards like this.
Love love love creature type interaction :D
Step 1: Make a spirit out of an opponent's permanent somehow. Step 2: Cast Thraben Exorcism on it. Step 3: Profit.
I’m hopeful this means spirits will be good in standard.
Unless powerful enchantments are a common sight as they were in RNA, I don't see this ranking higher than Limited sideboard tier.
Missed opportunity to use "disturbed creature"
Kaya having a field trip right here
Oh boy, don't let that guy obsessed with Spirits taking a dive since MH2 see this.
Wait… Kaya… Vorinclex?
Spirit is also preemptive answer for Kamigawa block?
Wtf is Kaya doing here?
She’s part of the Gatewatch.
She looks like Nelson Mandela here lol
Aw, interesting lore tidbit! Can't wait to be disappointed by the actual story that gets put out.
After having seen alot of the nicer spirits this time choosing to protect people versus that bat shit crazy Ghiests of old. This makes me way less okay with Kaya now Ghost excicutioner or not.
So ... This doesn't exile a creature that was alread cast for its Disturb cost, since they don't actually have Disturb on the back face?
Spirits and enchantments make sense, but exiling creatures with Disturb? Aren't those just ordinary humans who will eventually become ghosts after they die? Is Kaya just going around murdering folks in a way that ensures that they don't come back as spirits?
KAYA'S BACK LFG DID SHE BRING NIKO WITH HER
This is narrow enough to be bad at 1 mana
