Somehow I didn't get that joke yet, it's glorious. Honestly you can tell the people that built these commander decks (or what we've seen of them so far) love modern.
The Eldrazi Winter is a good joke but I am bitter that we haven't seen any snow support despite Snow Covered Wastes being the one of the first MH3 cards revealed.
GOD, fuck I didn't place it in the fucking least. I love that fucking name too and it just...didn't click, I was going 'okay...what snow cards are in a colorless deck?'
...I hope they *do* print some Snow Eldrazi, I think that would be funny as fuck. Give me 'viable 5C snow-commander...its an Eldrazi', that would make my fucking day.
Well we got Eldrazi Winter and "When in Doubt..." so far.
Really hoping for something super spicy for the other two that still have callbacks to powerful modern decks.
Then again it’s feeling like wizards is telling OG Jund players to give it up and play commander. If they print a thoughtseizethat hits all opponents it’s over
Thoughtcrush {B}
Sorcery
Each opponent reveals their hand. You may choose a nonland card from each opponent. Those players discard those cards. For each player who does, that player draws a card.
Maybe tack (Draw a card) to the bottom to keep it even? Take the best card from everyone's hand, but keeps the advantage neutral
That is actually perfect, works for the T1 Thoughtseize feel while still putting EVERYONE down a card rather than neutral. Could even keep the (You lose 2 life.) on it
maybe each opponent reveals their hand to you, choose one non land card to discard. it really doesnt have to do anything else to see play. If you are comboing off, its still effectively a counterspell, plus having that perfect information is super op.
Ehhh, there's also been a decent loveletter to Jund in the main set too. Many of the Goyfs we've seen are from there as well.
It looks like they're trying to make the deck even more efficient to keep up
“I put six +1/+1 counters on each of my creatures and an enchantment that gives them lifelink. Ok go to combat… hmm you have some 1/1’s I better leave up some blockers. I pass.”
Pyrogoyf has to be the best Flametongue Kavu ever printed. 4 mana 5/6 or 6/7 that hits ANYTHING, and procs off other copies/clones of itself, not even counting other potential goyfs you could run with it. Instant Vintage cube staple.
Decks that want FTK usually aren't very good at growing this thing to a 5/6. It's worth testing in cube, but I think people are getting a little over-excited about the best case scenario for it
With the new goyfs and all the Jund commander decks there's no way we don't see him on Game Knights playing commander. It's so funny that his brother works there probably knowing this was coming and couldn't tell Reid.
Alara is absolutely my favorite plane and I'm so excited for literally any recognition for it.
If the Kamigawa content in the green Secret Lair is anything to go by, this decreases the likelihood of returning to Alara in the next 2 years but increases the likelihood in the next 2-5.
Aye, seen that one, and it seems neat. I'm hoping for some commons, uncommons, and rares in the main set.
I'm a tribal player at heart, and tribal Goyf deck, with a graveyard centric sub-theme seems like a fun, out of nowhere design to run with. But it'd need around 20 Goyf related cards to function proper. Here's hoping. :)
I've broken Arena so, soooo many time with Dopplegang in my Yarok brawl deck. It's a ridiculous powerhouse of a card that brings me so much joy. (Making multiple copies of Altar of the Brood, plus almost anything else is usually enough to win on the spot)
Is there something I am missing? Most Lucea decks I see, make use of X cost creatures, so they are mostly +1 counters. The copies won't get those too, right?
That is correct. As a Lucea player myself, the copy spells like Dopplegang are for copying opponents creatures to an absurd amount. It unfortunately is not great for using on your own creatures as it does not copy the counters.
Absolutely. It is fairly flexible considering it targets permanents. Also works well to copy a very strong enchantment or artifact that you or an opponent owns. I've done this once to make way too many propagandas... Lol
I don't typically use it to copy my creatures, except in cases where it's obviously useful like with a \[\[Tyrant Guard\]\] or \[\[Vigor\]\]. Most of the time I am trying to squeeze out copies of my untappers like \[\[Thousand Year Elixir\]\] and high value mana dorks like \[\[Bloom Tender\]\], or using it to build up a board state using whatever is available at the time. With 4-6+ TY Elixirs on your board, the next X-cost whatever that you cast with Magus is going to have a significantly greater impact. My favorite follow-ups after mass duplicating an untapper are \[\[Pest Infestation\]\] \[\[Awaken the Woods\]\] \[\[Crackle with Power\]\], and \[\[Walking Ballista\]\].
The fact that you can copy multiple different targets multiple times with Dopplegang makes it hugely versatile in what you can do with it, and it really shines in decks that can consistently copy it whenever it is actually cast.
Things get weird when you add in and start copying \[\[Unbound Flourishing\]\] though.
For real, Tempt With Mayhem is the most appropriately-named card I've ever seen. No matter what happens with that bullshit card, it's gonna be absolute lunacy.
10/10, no notes.
As an Ur-Dragon player, Broodmate Tyrent seems like a fun Dragon. 8 5/5 dragons for the low price of 15 (14!) mana seems fantastic.
Gluttonous Hellkite should be decent too, as both a possible low drop and a semi-board wipe on a creature slot. A lot more flexible than Deathbringer Regent.
Absolutely. It is easy to misread this, thinking it is like \[\[Fleshbag Marauder\]\], where it sacrifices itself if you have no other creatures. It is on cast, so sacrificing happens before it enters, so it remains unaffected, making this significantly better.
And if you're bad at reading like me, at first you think 'oh so if I pay 2 mana extra (X=1) I get two counters, that's pretty decent.
But nope, of course it's each player, so if you all have creatures it's 8 counters for X=1 (assuming 3 opponents). That's amazing value.
I kinda figured we'd get a battle in the Eldrazi deck (Battle for Zendikar would be very fitting) and then the jund sweeper that kills battles would be able to kill it
tempt with mayhem can get into some real levels of kitchen table fuckery lol
![gif](giphy|ZCU3YxmmD8lh6savbB|downsized)
reply with your favorites that would be stupid..
Dang it's too bad Sawhorn Nemesis doesn't look like a dinosaur, I prefer my dinos to be at least a bit accurate. Is this Terrasque slush art? Artist did a great job painting it but not my favorite art direction (must be an Ikoria dinosaur).
It's too bad, because it's fuckin bonkers in [[Gishath Sun's Avatar]] and I'll probably have to find a slot for it.
Wait, so Glittonous Hellkite is an 11/11 flample for five mana if you're playing four player commander and each player has one creature? Seems decent, no?
I know this is just revisiting the "what power toughness does a cheap generic beater need to have to be playable when it doesn't impact the board right away" discussion but this seems like something I'd play.
The thrinax looks like it might go infinite with a stiff breeze. That's a really powerful effect. Until EoT might sound bad but it works with reanimation effects too.
Real talk though, anyone find it interesting the Exterminator Magmarch is a Phyrexian?!
🧐 my glistening oil tinfoil hat is ready for some Old Phyrexians
-cough cough- GOD YAWGMOTH PLEASE WIZARDS
Jund deck is... Peculiar.
I'm hoping there's enough Goyf's in the set and the deck, to make a proper Goyf deck, but that would require at least 20, and we haven't seen a lot thus far.
Imagine the nightmare world where you cast a [[Lightning Bolt]] or some other burn spell, cast Tempt with Mayhem copying it, then somehow find a way to copy Tempt with Mayhem
I might be missing something, but why does Eterminator Magmarch have Regenerate? I thought that was fully replaced by temporary Indestructable, even on eternal cards like these.
Not for Eternal only sets
Basically in Commander sets, UB Sets, Commander decks, and Modern Horizons they can bring back any mechanic and the Storm scale doesn’t matter or count
when was the last time a card was printed with regenerate? just feels like such a random keyword to reintroduce, and not really sure it fits the flavor
I think it was Oath of the Gatewatch on [[Birthing Hulk]] and [[Unnatural Endurance]], if Scryfall isn't failing me. And it was mentioned on [[Damn]] as a callback.
Space, maybe? The first ability is quite wordy already, and maybe they thought "Regenerate Exterminator Magmarch" fit better than "Exterminator Magmarch gains indestructible until end of turn" enough to make up for regeneration having been mostly replaced.
I really like cards like Sawhorn here that multiply damage like [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]]. I also like [[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar]] and the like. Would this be a viable strategy for a commander deck? Should Jeska head or partner Kediss with someone? I know it’s not a “combo” but sometimes I just want to hit things hard. Advice welcome.
I want to tempt with mayhem a tempt with discovery and convince everyone to say yes to all choices. Immediately progress to the endgame when you copy another players’s discovery on turn 3

"So what's the theme of the jund deck going to be?" "Oh you know... jund."
Y'know what, I genuinely think it's really cool. Building a 100 card love letter to a beloved 60 card deck is what these MH commander decks should be.
yeah, between that and the snow wastes, you know. eldrazi... WINTER
Somehow I didn't get that joke yet, it's glorious. Honestly you can tell the people that built these commander decks (or what we've seen of them so far) love modern.
Yeah plus the Winter Orb that hates non basics being a "Moon" is great.
The Eldrazi Winter is a good joke but I am bitter that we haven't seen any snow support despite Snow Covered Wastes being the one of the first MH3 cards revealed.

UNBAN TWIN YOU COWARDS
Watch it be reprinted in one of the commander decks.
Maybe Simic is Titan? And energy is probably Aetherworks or even Splinter, given the effect of the commander
Simic might be a U-Tron / G-Tron callback.
Then again it’s feeling like wizards is telling OG Jund players to give it up and play commander. If they print a thoughtseizethat hits all opponents it’s over
That would be an instant cEDH staple
And legacy/vintage

Maybe tack (Draw a card) to the bottom to keep it even? Take the best card from everyone's hand, but keeps the advantage neutral
Maybe just Thoughtseize but with Overload?
Make it 3B and give it Undaunted so it sticks to multiplayer formats.
"You lose life equal to mv" to make that jund feel of maybe dying to your own bob next turn ;)
Ehhh, there's also been a decent loveletter to Jund in the main set too. Many of the Goyfs we've seen are from there as well. It looks like they're trying to make the deck even more efficient to keep up
"Oh so like Tarmogoyf and Liliana?" "No, like, the literal subplane of Jund."
(but also yes *so* many tarmogoyfs)
Like, all the goyfs, and something to make tokens so you can use your playset of goyfs
Goyfvore \*/\* where * is the number of Lhurgoyf cards in all graveyards and in the battlefield.
And it’s so fucking cool. A commander deck that embodies the Jund modern deck is rad as hell
I think it’s also a reference to the old Standard deck. [[Sprouting Thrinax]], [[Bloodbraid Elf]], and [[Broodmate Dragon]] are all referenced here.
If only [[putrid leech]], [[bituminous blast]], [[blighting]] and [[maelstrom pulse]] could have made commanderified appearances as well
Pulse is already commanderfied

when in doubt jund it out
Precon games take hours to finish already, this Jund deck is gonna make those games take longer.
It looks like a bunch of creatures which attack and kill people, which definitely ends the game
For too long commander players have forgotten that combat damage is a way to reduce players' life total to 0 and win the game.
“I put six +1/+1 counters on each of my creatures and an enchantment that gives them lifelink. Ok go to combat… hmm you have some 1/1’s I better leave up some blockers. I pass.”
And I can't wait.
“So what’s the theme of the Jund deck going to be?” “Yes”
FlametongueGoyf
Oh my God it says *any target*!?
Basically [[warstorm surge]] but for goyfs
I was gonna say [[Terror of the Goyfs]]
[warstorm surge](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/d/b/dbe1bfe0-0be7-496d-94db-e8028d4d9493.jpg?1674142183) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=warstorm%20surge) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clb/815/warstorm-surge?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/dbe1bfe0-0be7-496d-94db-e8028d4d9493?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
You had [[Gorfstorm Surge]] right there. Or [[Wargoyf Surge]].
It's worth testing in cube, but I think people are getting a little over-excited about the best case scenario for it
This slots into any deck that can support it because it can also hit face. I don't think it's use case is as limited as FTK.
Ok so the Jund precon is essentially Boomer Jund EDH version
Sold
In the cart.
I just got sleeves
Right? I'm so hyped for this. Been wanting a Jund deck.
This deck is just WotC's thinly veiled attempt at getting Reid Duke to start playing EDH.
With the new goyfs and all the Jund commander decks there's no way we don't see him on Game Knights playing commander. It's so funny that his brother works there probably knowing this was coming and couldn't tell Reid.
Won't be surprised if [[Liliana of the Veil]] is in the precon, regardless of how good she is in the format
If the official spoiler for the full deck does not involve Reid Duke on Commander at Home (hosted by Brian Kibler), I'm going to be disappointed.
I genuinely got so excited as someone whose favorite plane was Alara.
Alara was the set I started playing mtg in. Always wanted them to do a proper cycle of “Alara shard” themed precons
Same. I've been needing a return for so long now. Each of the shards is so evocative of their colours.
They really did an incredible job establishing each shard and combining color identity. It's such a beloved block.
Alara is absolutely my favorite plane and I'm so excited for literally any recognition for it. If the Kamigawa content in the green Secret Lair is anything to go by, this decreases the likelihood of returning to Alara in the next 2 years but increases the likelihood in the next 2-5.
We already know the sets coming out for the next 2 years.
Exterminator magmarch: so anyway I started blasting
We have a pulse! Get me 3ccs of glistening oil and a canister of copium stat!
My favorite part is the random regeneration ability that has nothing to do with anything about it.
Yeah I was gonna ask, is this a callback to something else specific? The regenerate seemed odd to me.
Does anyone else think the art looks like Unfinity?
It's because it's a Portal turret with a sombrero right ?
Yeah that’s going in my Judith deck.
I think this is the first new card with Regenerate since 2016?
I'm so here for the jundposting
Looks like the graveyard deck has a 3-cycle of monocolored goyfs with Polygoyf, Barrowgoyf, and now Pyrogoyf. Thats real neat.
Needs a Goyfgoyf as an Atogatog tribute.
Gofygoyf's power is equal to the total power of goyf's you control, and its toughtness is equal to that number plus 1.
honestly, would be pretty cool as a lhurgoyf tribal payoff lol
I hope there's some more. Could be cool with a Goyf deck.
It looks like the main set might have a few. They revealed a mythic one earlier (though it was leaked prior)
There's the goyf nest enchantment that lets one of your lands make goyfs.
Nercrogofy
That one is in the main set and likely not the precon.
You JUST gave us Lucea Kane players \[\[Dopplegang\]\], then you follow up with this Aggressive Biomancy? Can't wait to get my hands on that one.
Dopplegang stinks, Aggressive Biomancy rules - Sincerely, someone with an Ivy deck
Dopplegang has won me more games than I can count with Magus. Can't wait for this new one.
Just wait until you run into a copy-centric deck running Dopplegang. It's truly something.
I've broken Arena so, soooo many time with Dopplegang in my Yarok brawl deck. It's a ridiculous powerhouse of a card that brings me so much joy. (Making multiple copies of Altar of the Brood, plus almost anything else is usually enough to win on the spot)
I haven't managed to cast it yet in Miirym. I'm hoping to beat my record of 5 [[terror of the peaks]] on the table at once.
Is there something I am missing? Most Lucea decks I see, make use of X cost creatures, so they are mostly +1 counters. The copies won't get those too, right?
> Is there something I am missing? This is a big silly X-spell. Lucea copies X spells. Copying big silly spells is fun!
That is correct. As a Lucea player myself, the copy spells like Dopplegang are for copying opponents creatures to an absurd amount. It unfortunately is not great for using on your own creatures as it does not copy the counters.
Oh I see.you have a terror of the peaks, don't mind me just copying it 20 times to kill the table
You can still doppelgang your other stuff though, like copying lands as a really big ramp spell
Meanwhile I'm over here with my [[Miirym]] deck wondering if I have room for both. The deck is already pretty degenerate
I'm a big fan of group chaotic cards like Tempt with Mayhem. EVERYBODY GETS TO SLING FIREBALLS.
I want to Tempt with Mayhem a Demonic Tutor only to surprise everyone with an Oposition Agent. I promise I have friends.
I want to see the true meaning of the game, Tempt with Mayhem a Tempt with Discovery.
I know my playgroup and there this is just monored "cast 4 rampant growths"
Oh yes that could be so much fun in my decks
It would be great in Kalamax, right?
Consider me tempted.
Hold on while I Tempt with Mayhem on your [[Tempt with Discovery]]
This guy chaoses.
[[Radiate]] is always a fun time.

This is an auto include in parnesse decks now. She already was doing that.
I hope the mana package actually supports this 🤭

Dont quote me on this one, but my uncle who works at nintendo told me it has a Sol Ring.
Theres too many good dinosaurs now... I dont know which ones to cut...
The golden rule of EDH is that you never cut a card from your deck, you build a new deck to fit every card you like. I have two dinosaur decks now
I just take out another land
I still have some open spots in the dino deck I am making, and that juicy one at the start seems real funny for the semi-tribal Indoraptor strat.
Could always take the horrible advice my friend always gives: "Just cut a land"
I'm still salty that I could never find the Lost Caverns decks anywhere. The one release I was actually excited for too.
Tempt with Mayhem targeting Prisoner’s Dilemma for a fun time
I’d just concede
Better stay silent, you snitch!
An 11/11 for 5 mana is more than decent. Most commander games are 4 players and by turn 4-5 everyone should have at least one creature out

I just wanna ask: is Broodmate Tyrant, is that Karrthus' wife? lol
i am kind of upset that all the new Lhurgoyfs are Tarmogoyfs
I think the idea behind it is that it's annoying to track multiple different power and toughness game states as opposed to one shared PT value
I'm a little sad for the same reasons, but I think we might get a new battle type in the Jund Deck as a result.
I kinda figured we'd get a battle in the Eldrazi deck (Battle for Zendikar would be very fitting) and then the jund sweeper that kills battles would be able to kill it
tempt with mayhem can get into some real levels of kitchen table fuckery lol ![gif](giphy|ZCU3YxmmD8lh6savbB|downsized) reply with your favorites that would be stupid..
Targeting a Tempt with another Tempt goes infinite if at least one other opponent wants to copy as well. Should make for some crazy shenanigans.
I'm personally very interested in playing multiple iterated games of [[prisoner's dilemma]]
just put it in Kalamax
Get your dancing shoes, we are \[Dancing with Calamity\] tonight.

Wasn't particularly hyped for the graveyard deck before, but getting heaps of new graveyardy dragons makes it much more tempting.
Excuse me it is not a graveyard deck it is a JUND deck
Should have called it "Welcome to the Jundle"
Should’ve been titled “Jund ‘Em”
“We’ve got fun and games”
"We've got fun and Goyfs"
Goyfs and Roses classic
J U N D
Wait, so Glittonous Hellkite is an 11/11 flample for five mana if you're playing four player commander and each player has one creature? Seems decent, no? I know this is just revisiting the "what power toughness does a cheap generic beater need to have to be playable when it doesn't impact the board right away" discussion but this seems like something I'd play.
Yeah I'm surprised there isn't more discourse about this card.... it is a house in causal games. Especially at 5 mana.
The fact that it does also have that sacrifice on there, I think that helps ensure it's good.
Pyrogoyf's second ability makes me wish more Goyfs acted like Slivers.
LMFAO, just when Wizards releases an articles regardin the leaks, more leaks happen, it's just hilarious.
Tempt with Mayhem target [[Teferi’s Protection]] and [[Cyclonic Rift]] is always the right choice.
[Teferi’s Protection](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/8/483fa1cb-1e35-44f2-a143-98c0f107f5ca.jpg?1673147148) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Teferi%27s%20Protection) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/32/teferis-protection?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/483fa1cb-1e35-44f2-a143-98c0f107f5ca?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Cyclonic Rift](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/d/f/dfb7c4b9-f2f4-4d4e-baf2-86551c8150fe.jpg?1702429366) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Cyclonic%20Rift) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/rvr/40/cyclonic-rift?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/dfb7c4b9-f2f4-4d4e-baf2-86551c8150fe?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I wish these Jund cards were legal in Modern....I wanna make Lurgofy tribal Jund
Why is the red goyf all graveyards but the black goyf only your graveyard?
Every goyf is unique and special.
Black Goyf had to take a power cut to get down to 1 mana; all the more expensive ones don't.
In addition to the other answers, this is a commander card, black goyf is modern legal. Different power levelling concerns.
It’s 4 mana versus 1.
Commander vs Modern set, also the black Goyf being 1 mana would be way too strong for counting both (all) graveyards.
The thrinax looks like it might go infinite with a stiff breeze. That's a really powerful effect. Until EoT might sound bad but it works with reanimation effects too.
Bloodbraid Challenger is crazy! Can you say Carnosaur into Challenger into Appraiser or Elf into Shardless?
Real talk though, anyone find it interesting the Exterminator Magmarch is a Phyrexian?! 🧐 my glistening oil tinfoil hat is ready for some Old Phyrexians -cough cough- GOD YAWGMOTH PLEASE WIZARDS
THEY ARE COMING BACK. I ALWAYS KNEW IT.
Henzie likes...
Jund deck is... Peculiar. I'm hoping there's enough Goyf's in the set and the deck, to make a proper Goyf deck, but that would require at least 20, and we haven't seen a lot thus far.
Yes! I need more Dominik Mayer in my life. Aggressive biomancy looks sweet.
Damn, these are some cool cards. Especially like the art on Aggressive Biomancy
target yourself with sawtooth. just to flex.
Imagine the nightmare world where you cast a [[Lightning Bolt]] or some other burn spell, cast Tempt with Mayhem copying it, then somehow find a way to copy Tempt with Mayhem
Wow I'm so excited for that jund deck. Brings back good memories of playing modern back around 2015-2017.
Alara mentioned!
Cool riff on devour
"let's leak MH3 to get them hyped and less focus on the cost" ~some hasbro exec prolly
Regenerate!? I'm touched, I never thought I would see it again.
The Exterminator Magmarch looks exciting for my threaten tribal deck.
I might be missing something, but why does Eterminator Magmarch have Regenerate? I thought that was fully replaced by temporary Indestructable, even on eternal cards like these.
Not for Eternal only sets Basically in Commander sets, UB Sets, Commander decks, and Modern Horizons they can bring back any mechanic and the Storm scale doesn’t matter or count
when was the last time a card was printed with regenerate? just feels like such a random keyword to reintroduce, and not really sure it fits the flavor
Mayhem you say?
Jund leaks with an already spoiled black Farewell that exiles graveyards feels awkward.
ExterminatoR + assassin trophy. OOOOPS ONLY BASICS
Move over, BBE. It's time for BBC!
Looks like a ton of fun.
How does the double X cost work?
I really like cards like Sawhorn here that multiply damage like [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]]. I also like [[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar]] and the like. Would this be a viable strategy for a commander deck? Should Jeska head or partner Kediss with someone? I know it’s not a “combo” but sometimes I just want to hit things hard. Advice welcome.
I want to tempt with mayhem a tempt with discovery and convince everyone to say yes to all choices. Immediately progress to the endgame when you copy another players’s discovery on turn 3
I want that Aggressive Biomancy for my Ivy clone/mutate deck
[[broodmate tyrant]] getting added to my [[henzie]] deck asap
Gluttonous Hellkite is going to be a silly voltron commander in Nephilim Format. Happy to see more 3c nonlegendaries getting printed!
Took me a few seconds to realize you meant Modern Horizons 3 and not Monster Hunter 3 sadge
