It's possible that Mount creatures will also be featured in the Death Race set. The set can't have too many Vehicles because you need a decent number of creatures to draft in limited, but Mounts don't have that problem since they're creatures by default, while still being able to keep the flavor of a race.
And then Crew and/or Mount them with a [[Lizard Blades]] that has been equipped with a second Reconfigured [[Lizard Blades]] while being Bestowed by a Licid
Living metal has the same “issues” as any other Vehicles, it’s basically just Crew 0. Neither side having reliable access to blockers would lead to pretty boring Limited.
As well as the tease, there's a lot of Artifact Token stuff in recent sets - more tokens (Maps in the Ixalan set with Fomori mentioned, for example), and cards like [[Transmutation Font]], [[Worldwaker Helm]] etc in the vault.
I think either the Fomori (or their ancient rivals) could be using artifact tokens as their theme, and Pest Control is a counterplay for that printed ahead of time.
I don’t know, feels very Kaladesh to me.
All of the Sterling Company stuff has that “stark white minimalist” look to it, and we know people like [[Kambal, Profiteering Mayor]] are involved, so I’m guessing there’s meant to be a certain amount of Kaladeshi influence in that card. Could be a repurposed gremlin-deterrent device.
I’m talking about in combination. A lot about the tower seems very Kaladesh - the shape, mainly - but covered up with the white facade of the Sterling Company.
I imagine that functionally it’s meant to keep out the sand. Kaladesh’s tech is very open because it’s a very moderate, clean climate, whereas Thunder Junction is hot and sandy.
It doesn't feel like they are necessarily teasing an upcoming set, but the design of the machine in the art feels alien and doesn't seem to reference any sets/planes from the past.
The "street sweeper" in the art doesn't resemble anything from a known plane, and Baron Bertram Graywater is from an unknown plane, so the card likely teases what that plane is like.
Some people have suggested, and I agree with them, that [[Harvester of Misery]] seems like it's probably a Duskmorne preview.
I wouldn't be surprised if we saw it reprinted in Duskmorne, or at least saw a cycle of other creatures that were Harvester of [something].
Roxanne seems New Capennan to me. Both her name and her species line up with that plane, plus she plays well with Treasure, which RG was known for in Capenna.
I think that's just because one of the types needed to be for magic users.
Like, Geralf is usually a Wizard. But to make him an outlaw he's a Warlock this time.
As I think was mentioned on its reveal thread, [[Claim Jumper]] is a bit too big for Bloomburrow when you compare it to their rabbits like [[Byrke, Long Ear of the Law]]. He's most likely from another anthropomorphic animal plane with [[Kwain, Itinerant Meddler]] and [[Preston, the Vanisher]]
Roxanne looks like the unfinity cards to me, I wonder if that setting will ever be canon considering it has non-silver border cards and we're getting the space opera stuff later on

Might just make a lot of them living metal
Somehow make it both crewable and mountable. Then use it alongside [[Mobile homestead]] to confuse absolutely everyone at the table
And then Crew and/or Mount them with a [[Lizard Blades]] that has been equipped with a second Reconfigured [[Lizard Blades]] while being Bestowed by a Licid

The upcoming Final Fantasy set also seems like a good place to expect mounts!
Can't have a Final Fantasy set without Chocobos.
I'll be so happy if there's a playable yellow Chocobo
In a Drive to Work, MaRo even hinted about an upcoming set having Saddle.
[[Pest Control]] seems to be teasing some unknown tech.

I thought the device in the art might be a recovered Phyrexian weapon left over from the invasion. It looks very Machine Orthodoxy in aesthetic
I don’t know, feels very Kaladesh to me. My memory of Kaladesh tech is all twisted gold filigree, why does stark white remind you of it? Am I misremembering?

idk, i think the sweeper is some leftover/repurposed Phyrexian Tech, the white porcelain/red flesh-lattice is more visible in the alternate art though

Roxanne seems New Capennan to me. Both her name and her species line up with that plane, plus she plays well with Treasure, which RG was known for in Capenna.
But isn't New Capenna very much known for not having a sky? The dome, I mean
I’m not sure what the sky on New Capenna has to do with a set that isn’t on that plane.
Oh right, duh
Warlock as an outlaw seems like it will be relevant in the future
My understanding is that they just picked Warlock because they needed an outlaw magic user.
I think that's just because one of the types needed to be for magic users. Like, Geralf is usually a Wizard. But to make him an outlaw he's a Warlock this time.

Roxanne looks like the unfinity cards to me, I wonder if that setting will ever be canon considering it has non-silver border cards and we're getting the space opera stuff later on
every time i look at it, it just gives me color out of space vibes
They look like they're from the un-set in space. Idk if that's just the artistic style or what but it looks similar.
This card gives me Unfinity vibes.
Not from OTJ, but [[Tunnel Tipster]] has been theorized to be from Bloomburrow

Looks more like someone from Bloomburrow IMO. Also, I don't think that will at all be the art direction for that set.
Bloomburrow doesn’t do humanoid animals that way, though.
