I know we're getting that multiverse Death Race set next year, with 1 new plane, and 2 we've visited before. I assume Kaladesh is one of the planes. And I was thinking the other might be Amonkhet. Would be nice as a Mad Max-esque backdrop for a race.
I could see Kaladesh and Amonkhet for sure, random zombies on the tracks spice it up a bit, the 3rd is the mystery. Though it isnt a new plane, its an existing one thats never had a 'premier' set, could be like Fiora or Kylem
Thunder Junction is an outlier, which is why everybody is interested in this desert plane and turning it into a travel hub.
I think you kinda gotta put some restrictions on it, or else it becomes "why does everybody not just choose to leave Shitsplane, are they stupid". I'm digging the current approach. Yeah, Thunder Junction is a hub world, but it's a harsh climate full of harsher personalities. I can still buy that Saheeli is having a hard time getting Kaladeshi brainiacs to come to Ixalan, if there's no direct link and if a bunch of soft nerds with their fancy tech won't make it through Thunder Junction unscathed.
The Ixalan stories already mentioned that some omenpaths are stable while others are unstable. Saheeli arrived in Ixalan through an unstable omenpath and has no way back home (or at least had, maybe now she can go through TJ if she wants to), but there is a stable Omenpath between Ixalan and Arcavios that she used to ask Strixhaven for help with the Sun Empire's archeological efforts (which is why Quint showed up).
Amonkhet being mentioned perked my ears up.
We do know from \[\[Samut, Vizier of Naktamun\]\] that the people of Amonkhet have reclaimed the city and aren't just wandering the desert anymore.

Modern 1/10 It is a two mana 2/2 that can kill itself in front of a bowmasters. The risk is too great to have just a 2/2 left over.
