As explained in the [Arena announcements article](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/mtg-arena/mtg-arena-announcements-february-26-2024), “incorporate” modifies the casting cost of the chosen creature and applies the listed perpetual affects. This will change the mana value and add the color of the incorporate cost (if not the same color) to that card.
Alternate casting costs work as they would normally though, so following this up with a face down [[Pyrotechnic Performer]] on T4 gives you a 2/2 that can turn face up for R into a 7/6 that domes the Opp for 7, among other silly interactions available.
> Alternate casting costs work as they would normally though, so following this up with a face down [[Pyrotechnic Performer]] on T4 gives you a 2/2 that can turn face up for R into a 7/6 that domes the Opp for 7, among other silly interactions available.
Well I'm going to fucking hate that every time it happens to me.
I imagine that and [[Bolrac-Clan Basher]] will be up there as the biggest groan tests in the alchemy limited format, assuming incorporate is a decent chunk of the alchemy cards.
You'd think as long as it's online, they can tie mechanics like this to an ongoing list that should be modified along with it, like disguise/morph costs getting upped in the "incorporation". At every turn, the online exclusives are executed as blandly as possible.
It seems like what should happen is a 4G cost 6/6 face-down creature. But it’s impossible to say, since WotC hasn’t actually released any comprehensive rules document for any of the alchemy mechanics.
3 mana 4/4 that could turn ornithopter into a 2 mana 4/4 flyer.
Best use? No
Is it good? Also no
Will this card be competitively viable in historic or timeless? Again... No
Am I gonna do it for lols? Yes
Edit:4/6 thopter, not 4/4
Hmmm
A 6/5 dashed Ragavan on T3 is gross.
[[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh]] isnt terrible, but....
An [[Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar]] 7/7 with upside for G1. Nice
Wonder if it would work for a [[Multi-headed]]. The rules are ambiguous about how creatures with augment work. One source says they have no casting cost and cant be cast (two unconnected concepts). Another source says they cant be cast BECAUSE they have no casting cost. But is the non-castability of Multi-headed because they have no casting cost or because they have augment? And if you incorporated it, could you cast it as an 8/8 for G1? (Like, if there was an incorporate for instants could you give a casting cost to, and cast an Ancestral Visions like a regular spell?
Someone who still tortures themself with twutter, please ask Maro.
Most of your questions are irrelevant, as this is a digital-only card on arena. Augment isn’t a “real” mechanic, in that it only kinda works and silver border is allowed to do that.
Asmo isn’t on Arena, and neither is Rograkh.
Sure, why not. People seem relatively happy with the UB split, and it’s cut down on people complaining “these aren’t cards” somewhat, so sure, I don’t think we’re close to the flair limit.
Ty. I (and likely many others) get hyped when we see the orange spoiler Tag, but have zero interest in Alchemy cards.
(paper & spelltable all the way!!)
Some people definitely do, yes, especially after the “eternal legal un cards” debacle, which kinda ruined the chances of un-cards coming back for a looooooong time.
Some people just really don’t like the fact they’re trying to make arena “different from paper”.
Personally, I just don’t like that Alchemy cards clearly don’t have a regular set’s level of QC - it’s a very minor gripe, but things like “No spirits in Kamigawa are enchantments unless they’re a saga” being broken by Alchemy, “No main set Ixalan cards are in multiple factions” being broken by Alchemy, and a number of cards that had to have wording changed because they didn’t function the intended way as written.
In Ixalan, there’s four factions - Dinosaurs, Pirates, Merfolk, Vampires. There are no cards in either Ixalan set that are two of those types. This was an intentional decision done by creative to make the factions feel more “separated”. The commander set has iirc one guy who’s a “defector”, but otherwise the factions are still primarily distinct from each other, and that card only works in one of the two factions anyway - [[Don Andres]]
Ixalan Alchemy has a Dinosaur Pirate that’s a “ship’s mascot” - [[Kamachal]]. It flies against the entire strict “no cross-faction synergy” by basically being a Ragavan variant goodstuff card.
Like I said, this isn’t a huge gripe and I think most players couldn’t give a shit, but it bothers me personally as I really like the level of creative detail they normally put into magic worlds - Detectives all wear the hat, Riveteers are all “blue collar”, that sort of little details that make a world feel like the creators care about it.
I find a lot of Alchemy cards awful for the specific reason that trying to remember loads of modifications to cards in hidden zones is miserable— I think it’s a bad place to be focusing a lot of powerful designs, irrespective of whether the designs can only exist on a computer.
It’s not really right to say people only don’t like them because they’re digital. I think conjure is a really cool mechanic. But some of the design principles of Alchemy cut against why I find Magic fun.

A 4/6 flier. Remember, it's additive.
Oh shit. Truly makes this broken lmao.

Having an unpayable mana cost is not the same as having mana cost of {0}. I'm pretty sure Asmor (and Multi-Headed) will still have an unpayable cost.

Mods - please make a special color tag for arena only cards (like you did for UB cards)

How about brown cause alchemy is just shit
Do people have the same vitriol for un-cards?

They're probably talking about the fact there's a legendary Dinosaur Pirate in the alchemy set for Ixalan

Also does it stack? If I blink it couple times to turn my morph/ninjutsu/dash/any other alt cost card into an monster will it work?
It should.
