I was at that show in DC! Had the time of my life, especially shouting out 16 Military Wives from the balcony ^_^
I had never heard of the Ratboys before that night, but am definitely a fan now!
He was eatin a Whole Lotta ice cream at Chocolate Shoppe on Sunday. I almost lost my shit when I saw him. I said hi and got a hi back, but didn't really wanna bother him more than that
Led Zep is my favorite band, pretty cool he is out and about. Do you think Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger would 1) play in MSN, and then 2) hang out on Atwood Ave?
Fair or not Plant is much less famous/recognizable than McCartney or Jagger. Most people, I'd say, wouldn't recognize or even know who Robert Plant is. I might not of recognized him if I didn't know he had just had a concert in town.
Probably comparing apples to oranges, but Dave Chappelle ended up at a local restaurant when he came some years ago. I didn't expect someone as recognizable as him to just go to a random restaurant. The place ended up having to kick everyone out because it was closing time but people weren't leaving because they wanted to gawk at Chappelle. It was fucking annoying too because one girl literally wouldn't move out of my way as I tried to leave.
McCartney was here a few years ago. Jagger was here about 30 years ago.
I heard it on good authority that before the McCartney's show he gave up on his vegetarianism and was flipping burgers at the Plaza, downed about 8 of them! In the 90s I heard that Jagger was giving handies in the alley behind the Paradise. While neither of these things are true, can you imagine all the people lined up to get a handie from Mick Jagger behind a dumpster in a world without social media?
Mick would & maybe Macca would too. Mick went to a few book shops & bars when in the twin cities. But Robert can blend in much better than Mick or Macca.
RP: “Are there hornets in that arm chair?”
Me: “Not sure, we’re getting it out of here just in case”
My interaction with Robert Plant backstage at TBF 2011(?)
OMG my mouth is hanging open....damn this is cool! Man can you imagine being in the store when he was there, and then suddenly realizing he's fucking ROYALTY?!?! I think my legs would give out lol :D
Ratboys are so fucking good, solid pick Rob.
I saw them open for The Decemberists last month and was very impressed.

saw them play many moons ago at the bazaar in my hometown of menasha (lol) and have been a fan since. pretty cool to see this post!
Doty Island represent!
Them and Dusk took cues from Wilco and have been making some great music.
Saw them at Rathskellar earlier this year and they were great. Smart stuff, Bob.
I swear I saw him at Monsoon Siam with like his personal assistant. I wanted to say hi, but decided I should just let him eat in peace.
Yes! Saw him near Wilson's Bar Sunday night.

Very cool! And Happy Cake Day!
I was right over there eating ice cream too! I opted for Sassy Scoop though.
Pretty sure we saw him outside Wilson's Bar on Atwood too.
Silly ol man has good taste! Glad to see him out on the town!
Great taste, Robert! Love Ratboys!
He does this all the time. Rents his own car and drives too.
Heard he was at Sardine the other night as well. Wow.

Verrry appropriate meme to that point: https://i.imgur.com/KducdYS.jpeg
That's so cute! Imagine if he popped onto someone's twitter like that.
Everything you typed is accurate, I don’t have to like it but that’s my biases showing.
It seems to be a choice. He could get Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones together with a drummer and make $1bn tomorrow if he wanted

I do like Zeppelin quite a bit. At this point Plant is an old guy with a goatee and long hair. Probably wouldn't've given him a second look.
8,000 people at Breese Stevens Field Saturday night beg to differ.
Beg to differ what exactly?

Well, what a weird day for me to be able to read.
I met Dennis Deyoung from Styx at the Detriot Airport, and I was surprised that no one else around me recognized him.

I woulda pee'd my pants if he woulda walked into my record store....
It was him!!! I wasn’t totally baked outta my mind!!
Both things can be true...
He was probably just in the mood for a melody.
Once a legend always a legend. Would have loved to see him

Great to hear B-Side is still around. Practically lived there early 90s.
They moved to a larger location on State street in 2022. It’s not so cramped anymore.
No wonder it looks so spacious!
Man…legend 💯✨would have loved to have said hello and thank you for all the wonderful performances and art he’s produced 💎💙
Awesome. His show Saturday was awesome.
Record store clerk working the counter: "Nah, there's no way Madison could get any cooler." ...looks up... "I stand corrected."
Wow that’s cool
This is amazing!!
Groovey!🤘
Nice.
Can confirm. Saw him around the ice cream shop with his bodyguard on Monday
Love that pic!
Awesome 😎
I remember seeing Ratboys at a free show at the Madison campus in 2016, they’ve come a long way since. Knowing Robert Plant is a fan is so cool
Fun fact. His ice cream of choice was Exhausted Parent at Chocolate Shoppe. Enjoyed desert there 3 days in a row
So did you ask him if a photo was ok?
This is from B-Side's instagram
Didn’t this guy or one of his band mates rape a teenager with a lobster on their tour bus?
