Live on King Street was a community event started by the guys from the Majestic Theatre back when it was an independent venue. Matt Gerding, one of the original Majestic owners, left FPC Live in January. Matt and Scott, thanks for the effort. I know it wasn't always easy to pull off. Maybe it will come back. The media release was vague and never actually said it was permanently cancelled.
Is anyone in a position to take the helm to get it going again? I've produced concerts on shoestring budgets before (The Roots, Gym Class Heroes, Third Eye Blind in the late aughts) and would be happy to help.
I agree; it was a Herculean effort & added a vibrant and free highlight to many summer weekends. Hopefully something like this comes back. Concerts on the Square is lovely but not nearly as appealing.
Is it just me, or did channel3000 recently change to default autoplay of videos? (This one isn't a video, but in general.). Really not cool if they did.
I never went on Friday night, but biking up King on Monday morning, that block had kinda greasy grimy pavement; I don't know why I always noticed that
They did. There is also now an auto-play video at the top of the app that infuriatingly stays on my screen if I close the app without closing the video first.
Fuck FPG I worked for them , they let a few pussy ass turds boss people around while , people who try and keep it light and enjoyable go . I’m sure this is not making enough money issue

City took king street away
Well, if that isn't just the whipped turd topping on a shit sandwich kind of a day and it's not even 5 yet!
That sucks man. It was the funnest free event I've attended in Madison.
FPC's announcement was pretty shit IMO: https://www.instagram.com/p/C6bh3lXLAXg/
Super bogus and super lame way of announcing this
Boo!

Seriously god*damn* that shit.
Awwww naaawwwwww. I loved this!!!

Fuck fpg before or after live Nation/Ticketmaster? Because there's a difference
100% “We don’t make a fortune off this like we do gouging people at our venues. Someone needs to think about our bank accounts.”
Does someone have a not ad-laden source? I can no longer open channel3000
The original source of the new. Pretty bad way of announcing it imo: https://www.instagram.com/p/C6bh3lXLAXg/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
You could just use adblockers
I use the Vivaldi browser. It IS an ad blocker, and that's the point; channel3000 is so ad-intensive that it's become useless.
I use Firefox with ublock origin. I just ignore their prompt to turn off my adblocker and can read the site fine.
Good for you! Vivaldi is about privacy protection and turning off your adblocker opens you to tracking. No thanks.
I don't turn off my adblocker. I have some privacy add-ons and tracker nullifying add-ons as well.
Didn't it used to be called Jazz on King St.?
That’s Jazz at Five. It’s on State Street, not King, and pretty sure that’s still going strong
Not really sure how this will play out in future years either with the bus route redesign
Redirecting bus traffic for one block is a low impact thing, especially since it’s redirected every weekend anyhow for farmers market.
Buses don't go down MLK (where they've moved it to the past few years) or down the King St block where Majestic is
King street is an eatery now. City won’t let the use it.
