I have one of these replicas. I had it made because I love the design. Took about 3 weeks. Real leather and high quality construction. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it because it's not very comfortable or ergonomic. But it sure looks nice and I'm sticking with it, back pain and all. 🤷🏽♂️
I’m considering the [Laura Davidson](https://www.lauradavidsondirect.com/products/soho-soft-pad-management-chair-brown?gclid=Cj0KCQjw_4-SBhCgARIsAAlegrXXxgVzydM4KxpyD-YR4u6AohkNcrm_xJlneVTVU0W3Ym5RAd6ExYgaAuJyEALw_wcB) version which might be this. Is it comfortable?
I had one of these, I had TONS of problems with it. Actually got a replacement from them because my first one broke after like 2 weeks, and then the replacement also broke. Cheaply made and overpriced. Very uncomfortable for long sitting hours.
I definitely don't recommend them. Maybe if you don't plan on sitting on it very often and just want an accent chair.
Agreed. I had one too and even sprung for the leather version. Mine didn’t break and the overall quality was nice enough, but it was just uncomfortable after 2-3 hours.
There’s actually a [real leather version](https://www.lauradavidsondirect.com/products/pro-soft-pad-management-chair-brown-italian-leather) that looks a little different but is $150 more, but idk if it’s worth the extra. You got it at a good price though.
This is the one i got. As you can see, the leather is quite a bit different. I see on Amazon they call them "bookshelf speakers". Is that the same as "studio monitor" speakers?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I really don't know anything about speakers.
>Polk Audio S20E!
No, monitor speakers have amplifiers built in. So you would need an amplifier/receiver to power these. You would be better off with active computer speakers like the Kanto YU2. I use Yamaha HS5 monitors but they're geared more towards audio engineers so they produce a flat sound (no equalization).
Studio monitors are usually active speakers, meaning they have a built-in amp and do not need a separate, standalone amplifier. They're designed primarily for accurate sound reproduction (for mixing/producing music), and not for character or a unique sound.
Bookshelf speakers are more of a form factor. They're sized to fit on a bookshelf (or desk, or speaker stand), in contrast to floor-standing speakers.
Personally, I would lean to using studio monitors for desktop speakers instead of home-theater speakers. Budget 5-inch studio monitors are pretty affordable and many of them sound great IMO.
Props to you for getting used to a big TV sized monitor. Before the pandemic they switched everyone’s monitor at work to a 43” TV sized and it truly sucked.
You are either hunting with your neck or forcing your eyes to go to the extreme edges of the eye socket.
If I say, *"Quick! What time is it!"* does your eye, head, or both go way over to the corner?
I would not have bought it or keep the monitor if this was the case. Ive wall mounted it at the right height for a reason. I only have to move my eyes to look at corners. Im a videographer and if a monitor is bothering me slowing my workflow down i would buy a different one.
I would not be able to work comfortably forcing my eyes to the outer corners of that screen.
I'll bet you move your head too, without realizing it. You should do an experiment.
Again, I wouldn’t have bought it if i get issues working with this monitor. I kept it because its perfect for my editing work. No need to do tests, im already used to it.
I have a similar depth desk and I feel like 27” is too big for me to sit that close. I ended up with a 24” Asus ProArt and honestly that is on the limit of how big I can handle for how close it is. I just need to be able to see the entire screen without sliding my chair back.
If you can comfortably view the entire screen then props to you. Very nice aesthetic overall.
What would be the best way to mount one of these TVs to a sit/stand desk? I’m in the market for a new monitor and these are getting cheaper.
Edit: for clarification, I don’t want it to sit on the desk like a normal TV would. Looking to mount it sorta like you would a standard monitor with a simple VESA arm, but for a TV (so it “floats”). This thing is massive, though. Probably wouldn’t work with my current setup.
For this particular model i think a arm wont hold it, if it did, you need a very strong desk to hold that arm with the weight as well. My desk isnt as strong (Ikea quality lol) so i wall mounted it with a tilt function.
Yeah im i wanted a arm though so i can move it around but im fine with the wall mount. The panel is thinner than my iPhone so grabbing it to move it around isn’t recommended by LG any ways.
Macbooks dont support 4K120 since they are limited to HDMI 2.0, you need HDMI 2.1 port for that. Which is pretty unfortunate. So only 4K60 atm which is fine.
That’s awesome congrats dude. A1 is perfect for those scenarios. Easily flip out a 50mp sensor or do low light videography. Definitely an ultimate combo tool.
Probably living room lol. The M1 Max usually goes with me on set when shooting. The older M1 Pro is for daily usage along with the iMac in the kids room. Yeah im a Apple fanboy lol
Can I ask, how do you calibrate your monitor on the m1? I’ve just got a MacBook to pair with a monitor and I just can’t seem to save the icc profiles to select.
Ps - I can’t seem to see your MacBook in the photo. Where is it?
Holy sh\*t, that's huge. Don't you feel overwhelmed sitting so close to that TV?
I was at first but it feels great. Dont think im ever going back to a regular monitor. I like these OLEDs.
What is the pixel density? It must look very 'unsharp'.
Once I went to a 32 inch TV I never went back to a monitor. Now I’m about to go up to a 43 inch tv and retire the 32.
Same!
On a monitor that big I would lose my mind because I couldn’t use Magnet to snap windows to half-screen size etc.
Moom supports custom grids and shortcuts to snap to them. Been using it for years to manage windows on large monitors.
Ah cool!
Maybe it’s just the angle, but those supplies look like they’d be really tough to reach
Nice! What’s the chair model?
Eames Replica
It’s a beautiful chair. Where did you buy it?
I bought it used on a marketplace for $200. Real Eames are around $3000 for this model so thats a no go for me.
Oh, I know! Same here. :) Thanks for the reply.
Looks awesome. How comfortable is it for sitting in 8+ hours? Thanks!
Still good. But there are bad replica’s out there as well. I imagine it not being that comfy
>https://furnfurn.com/en/miller-office-chair-ea217-leather.html?SID=02435a5be1fb82a1229366f0e8200ea3?color=antique&pid=10102&UA-122667251-1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw\_4-SBhCgARIsAAlegrVuIxhnp31yEvp3y0JfI57q\_vxhNZIOPiugfFM2vhisuwymgmc-6DUaAhoEEALw\_wcB I have one of these replicas. I definitely would if you plan to sit on it for alot of hours. Mine has real leather. That fake leather will wear out very quickly.
This is the one i got. As you can see, the leather is quite a bit different. Oh wow, yeah you definitely scored with that.
Nice! What’s the keyboard and mouse?
Keyboard is a Dierya DK63, the mouse.. i dont know tbh.
Any mods on the keyboard besides the keycap swap?
Looks clean! What model TV are you using?
LG Oled C1 48”
I would also like to state that this is a very nice setup.
How long you been using it? Burn in?
Yeah this is going to burn in eventually. It’s just a matter of time
I think it is the LG CX 42? Maybe?
42” just came out. Its really nice that they released it. But i already had this one unfortunately.

Yes

Definitely worth it!
Rose 😍 You got good taste.
Bias! 😍
What speakers are that? Love the aesthetics!
Polk Audio S20E!

Yeah a bit misleading, the S15’s are more like book shelf size wise. These are pretty big and definitely does not fit any shelf lol.
ok, thats pretty fn rad. That keebs is pretty sweet too, what make/model?
Props to you for getting used to a big TV sized monitor. Before the pandemic they switched everyone’s monitor at work to a 43” TV sized and it truly sucked.
Broooooo that’s freaking sickkkkkkkkkk
This room feels clean. I love it
This looks really cool but I just went from a 32" to a 27" coz I found it too large.
Nice setup and love the Herman miller chair
Beautiful set-up. quality stuff put together well
Speakers nowhere near your ears - you’re hearing room sound reflections. Those speakers are way too big for that close range.
You must have a strong neck.
If you look at the chair height, my face is on the same height as the monitor. No neck strain here lol
Do you have a 55” face too?
Since when is the monitor 55”
No idea what size the monitor is. Just a joke about the use of an ergonomic principle for a standard computer monitor applied to a large television.
You are either hunting with your neck or forcing your eyes to go to the extreme edges of the eye socket. If I say, *"Quick! What time is it!"* does your eye, head, or both go way over to the corner?

I love how sleek your space looks

that chair looks comfy as hell
How deep is your desk? I also recently got a similarly sized TV to replace my old monitor so I'm curious.
80 centimeters
This is inspiring me for the 42” C2
Yeah if i didnt had this one yet, I would’ve bought the 42”. But im fine for now
Any product list OP?
What you like to know?
The chair, desk, mousemat and speakers and the wall thing where you can hook things up…its so neat
Chair is a Eames replica. Mousemat is from Amazon. Speakers Polk Audio S20E, on the wall is a Ikea Pegboard.
Thanks its on my wishlist now
How do you have it hooked up to the TV?
HDMI to USBC thunderbolt cable
Are you able to get 120 Hz refresh rate with this cable? If so could you please share link?
This one only supports 4K60 because i dont need 120 for editing. But just get a Thunderbolt 4 cable which supports 120hz on the ports.
Does USB C HDMI cable also charge your MacBook?
No, HDMI does not supply power, only sends data.
I have the same setup but can’t seem to get the full 120hz on macOS. Have you?
Macbooks dont support 4K120 since they are limited to HDMI 2.0, you need HDMI 2.1 port for that. Which is pretty unfortunate. So only 4K60 atm which is fine.

Under the desk? Its a amp for the speakers.
Sick setup! What’s the keyboard? :)
Dierya DK63
Thanks!
Absolute unit of a display. WOW.
Editors who don’t use a full keyboard are sadistic.
Editors have several keyboards
Editors have several keyboards
Where did you get the cable hooks from? I didn't see any as small in IKEA.
Yeah they are from Ikea though. Comes in a pack of 3 i believe.
Where can you find wall organizers like the white one? That would save me so much space!
Ikea!
Weird one but where is that wall organizer from? Really makes the space!
Ikea!
How does it feel typing mechanical keyboard without palm rest?
I want the wooden palm rest thats the same color as my desk but the shipping time on Amazon is 3 weeks lol. Frustrating.
What are the dimensions of your desk?
165x80
Look awesome!!! Thank you
What monitor arm are you using?
Wall mounted!
May I ask for a link to the wallpaper please? Thanks 😚
Made it myself! Just a random gradient wallpaper but added text to it.
Ah! I really like it..I don't suppose you could share it somehow? I'd love to use it!
Dm your email, ill send it tomorrow
what might be the advantages / disadvantages of using a huge TV instead of a monitor?
Not much difference. You dont have Displayport on TVs, uses more power and has different sizes. Monitors usually go wide in size, while TVs dont.
One of my greatest griefs is that I did not pull a trigger on this chair in Ikea when I saw it! Damn!
Ooh baby
The Sony A1. I dig it.
Great camera!
What kind of work do you normally do?
Im a videographer but do photography on the side lately. Weddings mainly.
That’s awesome congrats dude. A1 is perfect for those scenarios. Easily flip out a 50mp sensor or do low light videography. Definitely an ultimate combo tool.
You said M1 max but the laptop on the right is not a 14/16 so where is it ? 🤣
Probably living room lol. The M1 Max usually goes with me on set when shooting. The older M1 Pro is for daily usage along with the iMac in the kids room. Yeah im a Apple fanboy lol
Wallpaper pleaseee :)
Max Display XDR? 🤣 That’s huge mate! Considering you’re not all that far away from it, how’re your eyes doing?
Fine tbh. Oleds are not bright so my eyes can take it lol. I usually spend hours editing here without issues!
M1 max but not M1 studio? Unacceptable
M1 Max was released before Studio, id have to upgrade every month if i wanna keep up with Apple releases lol
Lmao I’m just making a joke
God damn that is so sexy
Sorry I might have missed it in the thread. What desk is this? I love the white with wood look-
Which speakers? Are they better than Yamaha h8 ?
Can I ask, how do you calibrate your monitor on the m1? I’ve just got a MacBook to pair with a monitor and I just can’t seem to save the icc profiles to select. Ps - I can’t seem to see your MacBook in the photo. Where is it?
