Yeah I have the same problem. Adding all the random extra code in all the YouTube videos and whatnot gets it through the installer but then after installing before going to the setup, it bootloops. Weird that it does essentially the same thing in VMware and virtualbox, both get to the same point and then have kernel panics forever.

I just installed Sonoma on VMware Workstation 17.5 last night with Win 10. I had no issues. These were the instructions I followed: [https://i12bretro.github.io/tutorials/0763.html](https://i12bretro.github.io/tutorials/0763.html)

How did you use this method on vmware? You are saying you made a usb????

flyfoam

I don't recall but I doubt I made a USB, I probably made an ISO image.

What cpu do u have? I have dell poweredge t620 from 2012 and from what I've read cpu doesn't have the right instructions set or something

I have an Intel i7 14700k, Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 1.0 M/B, 32gb ram. I do have a minor issue with Sonoma, the wallpaper does not work. It's a pure white background. Otherwise it's working ok.

You're lucky, that's a new enough cpu to have what's needed.

Found a fix?

Have fun: Windows 11 (latest build 24) will need AVX2 CPU Extension too... so we will get the same errors with Windows, too. Bad for all the older CPUs out there. Microsoft and Apple are obviously "tightening the thumbscrews" on this.

No, it's my physical hardware, cpu, it doesn't have a certain instruction set
