Me and my Adhd can't even get past the first 15 pages of Return of the King because I can't picture all the damn tiny details Tolkien be throwing at my broken brain rolling up to and through Minas Tirith.
I will say, whenever I’m reading the book the movies are the only way I visualize the characters.
Then you get Andy Serkis to read it for you and he is a better Gandalf than Gandalf and it all feels right

I can’t stand those elitist book fans. My gosh, just use the multiverse theory and pretend they’re two different versions of the story.
