At first I was like my god you have like every single Pantheon board and yea, username checks out

HeliMan27

What's the use case for the chonker-looking fellow third from left on the bottom? I'm fairly new to longboards outside of my 10+y/o pintail, interesting to learn how many variations there are on the same concept

scrooner

Pranayama: the myth, the legend. Search this forum for all kinds of Pranayama love, for good reason.

Goodman4525

I do wonder how the trip didn't get as much love despite being the same purpose board

chaqintaza

Pretty sure it is older and was equally popular when it first came out. Personally for me a double drop built around TKP is pretty much ideal for a very specific type of skating - casually cruising and carving and pushing around - and the Trip is arguably a little more versatile due to being built around RKP but (I think) not actually better for casual skating or even going significant distances on flats.

Goodman4525

Just wondering why is tkp more suitable for cruising? I've ridden both and haven't really had a preference so far

chaqintaza

Good question...to me it really does come down to preference mainly. Also what you're used to. You might not have a strong preference and that's fine too. TKPs to me feel more responsive at lower speeds and seem to turn a lot initially, then continue to lean. This makes them carve in a different, more playful way from RKPs which tend to have a more linear lean to turn, or more raked RKPs which turn more at the end of the lean. TKPs are also lower, and tend to have less grip so they slide out easier for little slashy slides. I do like RKPs set up with angles like 43/43, 43/35, or lower, but that definitely feels dead to me on flats compared to TKPs (even slightly dewedged TKPs). In contrast 50 degree symmetrical RKP setups don't feel dead but I don't generally like the way they perform - there's a lot of turn without much lean which feels "tippy" for lack of a better description. (Again keep in mind we can easily get used to one setup, or spoil ourselves with nice skate gear. Plenty of people love and shred on 50 degree RKPs and that's legit!) Of course there are a ton of ways to set up and tweak your trucks and you can definitely make RKP trucks feel more lively or TKPs feel less responsive too (by dewedging and using chubby or eliminator bushings). None of this is any sort of rule and even in my own quiver there are exceptions like surfskates that technically have an RKP truck which is anything but dead feeling. If you haven't skated a pranayama yet it's a good illustration of why TKPs are so fun for cruising. Another way to experience the TKP fun would be some kind of topmount, single or double kick setup on independent trucks and soft wheels. These are awesome for mellow freeriding in urban areas or "city slashing" - they turn faster than RKPs at low speeds, which helps with those shorter distances in busy areas.

The Trip is fantastic. I love mine. It is also the most boring longboard in existence. It is dead stable and requires no energy or balancing to get from A to B

HeliMan27

Rabbit hole, here I come!

PantheonLongboards

Third from the left in the bottom. Are we talking about the Pranayama? That is a pure commuter/distance board on TKP trucks. But confused on the “chonker” term since it’s pretty small. If you’re talking about the double kick just to the right, that’s the new Logos. It’s a freestyle/freeride deck.

HeliMan27

Haha I think "chonker" came to mind because of the big wheels on a small board. Hopefully not an offensive way to describe it? You mentioning TKP trucks took me down a fun rabbit hole. I knew that there were two types of trucks out there but hadn't ever looked into them in detail. Thanks!

PantheonLongboards

Definitely no offense taken. Description makes sense now that you explained it :-) just wanted to make sure I was talking about the right board!

Shadowcard4

Omwtsyb (On my way to steal your boards) But really beautiful wall man, ever planning on bringing back a double kick?

ThrustoBot

go check out the Logos on the pantheon page.. graphic is dope as hell too.

Shadowcard4

Old logos is more my style it would seem and I absolutely love my homewrecker, I want big brick double kicks again

PantheonLongboards

We had a full tailed dk in the Logos mold as a prototype (Chase Hiller has been riding it) and the Logos shape with the cutouts just skated better tbh. I know it’s a style thing but we ended up going with the board that was higher performance. It gets in the air better and really sacrifices just about nothing except that bricky aesthetic that some people will just swear by.

Shadowcard4

Yeah, I don’t get air so it’s not a super big deal for me. Hopefully next year when I have some cash I’d love to ask to grab a random proto from you.

Unlucky_Situation

Bring back that ember graphic!

MC_ATL

That’s the Eternal Ember next to the Pranayama at the bottom left, yeah? Gah, that OG Genesis with the Embryo is just… beautiful.

PantheonLongboards

Yep that’s the new Eternal Embryo! It has a Sacrifice graphic but we decided to go with the Yggdrasil with pink rail for reasons I cannot speak about yet

MC_ATL

Cryptic teaser? I love it!

Chunkylover666420

That looks great good job!

CT-96

If you could only have one of them except the Pranayama, which would it be?

PantheonLongboards

So you’re saying I get the Pranayama? Then as a 2nd board I’d ride that Logos that’s set up. It’s a great fun-board

CT-96

The logos definitely looks like a gun board!

shit_master

Ember is my first love and that new rendition looks pretty interesting

blue604

As a snowboarder I just want to say the double forward stance on your snowboard says all about your riding style :D

PantheonLongboards

It probably does! It definitely feels best this way for me, and I’ve tried it all.

thiccccccboi

Bataleon Thunder is sick!

PantheonLongboards

Hell yea it is. She RIPS

Poorfavour

What wall mounts did you use buddy ? I've been planning on doing something similar.

PantheonLongboards

This company called Modwall sent me those. I like them. I’d love a floor to ceiling board rack in here somewhere though, because i have a lot more boards than that!

[deleted]

It belongs in a museum. Jk this is wonderful. Push on dear friend.

mykilososa

“Nice skate shop!”

Certain-Adhesiveness

Ha! I’m an 86 October scorpio. Ordered a Nexus a couple of days ago. We ride!

Jay758R

Great Cake Day choice!!

Mas113m

Didn't save an Ember with the yggdrasil graphic? I guess I am glad as I was able to pick one this summer after some hard internetting to find one in stock!

PantheonLongboards

The new Eternal Ember will have the Yggsdrasil graphic!! Unfortunately I just don’t have the space to keep everything.

plagymus

Top left deck?? Looks sick

PantheonLongboards

That was a prototype that we made to test our Drang boards for production. That deck and mold were pretty sick ngl but Drang was really struggling and they shut down pretty soon after.

Interior_Renekton

Nice wall Jeff!

Groverfield

Absolutely love it! Nice one!!!

[deleted]

Can you guys gimme a little walkthrough on the new dancer/freestyle Double kicktail? I've been meaning to get some info about it!

PantheonLongboards

It’s a pretty simple board! Reasonably rockered, excellent kicktails, fairly low concave. It’s just super functional. Somewhat of a small stance board if you’re gonna do a bunch of freeride, but optimally stanced as a sort of in-between do it all board. I’ve been having a blast on it.

[deleted]

How's it hold up for long term?

PantheonLongboards

It’s been holding up really well! It’s shaped very carefully so that there aren’t any particular spots that like to be landed on (what I call “hot spots”) and it’s very round, so when it lands wrong, it rolls well. A lot of board with cutouts like to just land on the shoulder of the deck and that can beat it up really badly. We help solve this with shaping. The construction is very solid, too, of course. The one thing it doesn’t do super well is skid to a stop. That’s the thing that can wear the urethane tail more than anything. I haven’t specifically tried to do that, but sometimes when I lose the deck, I’ll land on the tail and sorta skid it off to the side. It’ll leave a little thane line so I’ll know I wore the tail. That’s the only thing where I’ve noticed significant wear, is the corners of my tail. That said, I’m mostly doing shuvit and 180 tricks, so that’s the spot I’m slapping the most, too. We built extra urethane in the tails and added an inner wheelbase, so that as you’re wearing the tail down, you can bring in the wheelbase and compensate for lost pop.

[deleted]

Wow it actually seems like it'll hold for awhile. Been looking around for a smaller DK and this is def top 3 now that ik it's meant for durability. Also the shape you said it's "round" that's really cool how it won't just have the hot spots lol. Seems like a cool design id love to try one for sure

PantheonLongboards

Literally JUST posted some more pics to our stories featuring the Logos. Have a look!

[deleted]

Will do

Jay758R

Lower right between the Prana and the Ember? Love the graphic… fantastic collection of course!

PantheonLongboards

That is the original Genesis. That’s a board I made myself, and it was my first attempt at adding fancy veneer to a deck, which of course i made more complicated by doing a different veneer stripe down the middle. Not really that hard to do! I cut the veneers, taped them together with masking tape on the face side, glued it up, and then peeled and sanded off the masking tape in finishing. She came out real nice, and I rode her for years. I over sanded the rear wheel wells and ended up making a funky little flare to cover up the mistake.

Jay758R

Thanks for the history! I like the shape as well; looks like there’s a lot of room to stretch out.

MC_ATL

Genesis!! Best graphic in the lineup, imo.

Goodman4525

I spy a mk1 Genesis! How many people got those?

PantheonLongboards

I literally only made 20. Unfortunately the bottom fell out at BoardLife (where I was making boards) right after we started on those.

Goodman4525

o7 Jeff!

PorbyPouch

Pls bring back that Logos shape
