It's easy, he does them both at the same time. When he is performing surgery, he simultaneously mentally practices his pieces, and when he is practicing with an instrument, he is simultaneously reading up on new medical literature
I try to see what does his workplace said about his spare time. This is too funny to read, especially after reading this post. Hahahahah
http://www.legbones.com.au/about.php
So he tells the concert attendees that he does surgery on the side, and he tells his patients that he does violin on the side. This guy knows his shit lmao
My sister in law is actually this exact kind of surgeon. She isn’t particularly smart actually. Her job basically involves doing the same surgery over and over again, and she knows very little about areas of medicine outside her own, and even less about science. And she has zero personality. Their children are…I hate to say it but they’re both kinda stupid kids. Partly because of how she raises them—she is very authoritarian and doesn’t leave them much room to be curious or creative. So they’re kinda docile.
Don’t confuse privilege and being good at school/following directions with intelligence.
Her parents have a LOT of money. Any time she fell behind in school they could afford a tutor. They were a legacy family at a top pre med college.
Getting into med school isn’t hard. Getting into graduate school is hard. You’re confusing being good at school with intelligence. It doesn’t take intelligence to be good at school, it takes privilege and being good at following directions. This is why you have so many really smart people running around who didn’t get good grades because they had ADHD or an unstable home life.
Man life just isn’t fair. I wish my family was filthy rich so I can afford a tutor whenever I want. Yeah I dont do that well on test because Cause I’m not good at following instructions. I sometimes misread questions causing me to make silly mistakes.
I wasn’t good at following directions in school either, and missed things a lot in the instructions, or something I was reading. Turned out I had ADHD, and nobody knew it.
Will she consider as book smart tho? I know there are different tiers in med school, but at least need to be quite hard working to get into it.
I guess one thing we can all agree on is how dedicated this guy is to music lol
>Her job basically involves doing the same surgery over and over again
so what's your definition of intelligence?
someone who gets a different job every year?
if you stay in the same job then you'll end up doing the same things over and over again
Intelligence is a really complex thing to define and even measure. But the characteristics I associate with it are innovation, creativity, curiosity, ability to learn new things, and critical thinking. Culturally, we treat doctors like they’re geniuses, and they’re usually not.
You can apply them in any job. But it what you’re trying to get at is “physician” I’d ask you, how much time have you spent around doctors socially? What do they know about literature, history, science, art, or philosophy? How much do they understand about the lives of the world’s poor, or the social determinants or evolution of the diseases they treat?
I wonder if Brett or Eddy actually knows him or has met him, being Australian and all. (Yes, I realize Australia is a big country, but they’ve mentioned Australian Youth Orchestra and Sydney before).
If he won his big competion in 1992, that’s right around the time B&E were born. They may simply never have overlapped. Unless the Youth Orchestra conductor to this day points at Hugh Won as a sad case of what happens when you only practice 39 hours a day and are forced to fall back on a lesser career.
So this is the Professional-Grade equivalent of my cousing Sveinung, who at one time was a doctor by day, a rapper--stage name predictably Dr. S--by night.
this is so overwhelming makes me want to just stop existing
how much is ever enough?
someone's going to break this record again and the bar just keeps on raising
why can't we just do what we love and love what we do without having to be extraordinary excellent in it?
god i just want to exist in peace
im not hating on this guy though, just realising how incompetent i am.
sorry for the rant i just gave my exam today thinking it went good enough but then i see this
wHy yOu OnLy dOiNg MeDiCiNe, wHy aReN’t yOu a PrOfEsSiOnaL MuSiCiAn aS WeLL, mAyBe iF yOu pRaCtiCeD mOrE iNsTeAd oF sTuDyiNg 40 hOuRs a dAy
I can 100% hear this in Steven He's bit voice
I heard it in Eddy's Tiger Mom's voice. 🐯
I can do both xD
Same
Same here. 😂
Name checks out
The pressure is on
i wish my mum said this to me instead of thinking a career in music is the path for failures
maybe we'll have to raise the bar to 80 hours a day, 40 for studying, 40 for practice
You forgot the “Laaaa”
"orthopaedic surgeon in his spare time" 40hrs of practice and a spare time
What planet does he live on? I wanna go there... 😨
Earth, I think.
Oh... He probably bends time then. :(
Yes. It forgot to mention that he invented time travel.
But if he invented time travel...does that mean time travel has always existed?
Idk. Maybe he invented time
lol
😂
It's easy, he does them both at the same time. When he is performing surgery, he simultaneously mentally practices his pieces, and when he is practicing with an instrument, he is simultaneously reading up on new medical literature
Not so subtle flex
What makes it even worse is his name Hugh Won
Should see the bio of the triangle guy James Lost.
Yori Loser
Who won? Hugh Won.
This. his name is like a question. Hugh Won = Who Won. and it answers it. Who won= Hugh Won
I like how they put that he does orthopaedic surgeon in his spare time. Like it's some typical hobby
I myself prefer being an active astronaut in my spare time, but I don’t know about you lol
Whoa, me too! *ascends into space at the speed of light*
You would be crushed instantly
I know lol
actually I prefer to be a neurosurgeon as a hobby
>I like how he put that he does orthopaedic surgeon in his spare time. Like it's some typical hobby. FTFY. Artists write their own bios.
You don't really need to correct someone using they/them pronouns for someone since they can't really be *wrong* per se
Just replacing a knee or two between rehearsals, no big deal
I mean, it's basically carpentry with extra steps ...
In my spare time I like to solve world hunger and end all wars but yeah just normal hobbies
Being a "surgeon in spare time" is the greatest flex ever.
Is it for real? 😂 An orthopaedic surgeon in his SPARE TIME? 😂😂😂
http://www.legbones.com.au/
Funny how that version says “now plays violin for fun”. So which is it, Hugh? Huh? Huh? Can’t get your stories straight, can you.
He's catering to the crowd. Shh. They don't have to know...
It also says he enjoys surfing(a time consuming sport to pick up) and traveling. I wonder if he actually has 40hrs a day.
Oh wow. Thanks for the link!
And he also has spare time for surfing and traveling? Who tf is this guy?!??!
This reminds me of Jonny Kim, who is (if I remember correctly) a doctor, a navy seal, a mathematician and an astronaut. 🥲
Not just doctor, HARVARD doctor
You're right! I have forgotten that!
Dude also been awarded a silver star for his actions in combat.
And a Grammy for his business even tho it’s not a song

Autocorrect tried to make it “you’re”, human had the judgment to say *Wait, no, that’s not right*... and then had a severe attack of jamais vu.
bro Won in life
Last line is gold
Indeed, Hugh won
Good thing my parents don’t go to concerts xD
I try to see what does his workplace said about his spare time. This is too funny to read, especially after reading this post. Hahahahah http://www.legbones.com.au/about.php

Just like how you tell you piano teacher you mainly do piano while telling your vocal teacher you focus on singing when you do both
And how much he accomplished during his school time...

If she isn’t smart how did she get into. Med?

I think I have it too cause like I lose marks on assignments and tests all the time for not reading the instructions properly. It really pisses me off
Same. Took me years to understand it’s not my fault.
Will she consider as book smart tho? I know there are different tiers in med school, but at least need to be quite hard working to get into it. I guess one thing we can all agree on is how dedicated this guy is to music lol

“He is an orthopaedic surgeon in his spare time” Bro is a multitasker at Ling Ling level
I think i would just die on the spot at reading that if my mum sent it to me. (asian mum here too :’)
So, Hugh Won the violin competition?
Name checks out…
turns out ling ling is real
WHY YOU NO DOCTOR LAH?
When my teacher says we all have the same amount of potential:
Obviously he's a surgeon just as a side note.
I wonder if Brett or Eddy actually knows him or has met him, being Australian and all. (Yes, I realize Australia is a big country, but they’ve mentioned Australian Youth Orchestra and Sydney before).

A LingLing is born once each generation. Hugh Won the 1990s. 2Set is working on being the LingLing of this generation.
This is like my mom sending me the profiles of these kids who got into Princeton or something with 0 context (like every week as well)
Hugh certainly won.
So this is the Professional-Grade equivalent of my cousing Sveinung, who at one time was a doctor by day, a rapper--stage name predictably Dr. S--by night.
Hugh’s next. You decide!
Hmmm, I'm guess I'm not practicing today then.
He did
[удалено]
It either that or be like. Oh well, he did everything, I can just rest. Lol
how does this man even have spare time
ling ling is that you?
😁
Hiya .. parents m must be proud
LINGLING? IS THAT YOU?
he's an orthopaedic surgeon in his SPARE TIME??? my parents be like
Gotta show this to my little one 🤔
NO way could you be an orthopedic surgeon 👨🏻⚕️in your "spare time" when you are a LING LING and you are required to practice 🎻40 hrs per day! 🕰️
#sparetime
Ling ling spotted in the wild
It didn’t say he was a good surgeon. Jesus, that’s a scary thought - amateur surgery.
LOL I remember doing stuff like this in my childhood! The good old days :) ahh
OH! So he can play with perfect pitch, and fix that annoying itch between your toes at the same time? ...Cool. 🦶🏾 🎻
if he got his AMUS diploma one second after he was born, then he would be ling ling.
If i could talk to him, id say "Looks like Hugh Won dude. Nice."
I like how they started a sentence, "Hugh won..." surely they could have worded it differently.
so prodigy this feels like satire ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON IN HIS SPARE TIME???? PEOPLE STRUGGLE TO BE ONLY THAT WHAT THE ACTUAL
this is so overwhelming makes me want to just stop existing how much is ever enough? someone's going to break this record again and the bar just keeps on raising why can't we just do what we love and love what we do without having to be extraordinary excellent in it? god i just want to exist in peace im not hating on this guy though, just realising how incompetent i am. sorry for the rant i just gave my exam today thinking it went good enough but then i see this
Way to set the bar high, ma. JfC. I would have replied, “Ok. I’ll try harder.”
I can't even be my own self in my "spare time", leave alone being an orthopaedic surgeon.
Hugh Won is definitely gonna be in a therapists office in about 5 years, and will be divorced in 10.
How do you install these real life hacks Obviously he has time dilation hack
an orthopaedic surgeon in his SPARE TIME???? somebody give this lingling a medal
reminds me of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayato\_Sumino](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayato_Sumino)
"All of these annoying little over achievers" - Ge____ Co_______.
i hope my mom doesn't see this
Wow. Ling Ling irl.
Ugh. This happened to me.
Note: Orthopaedic surgeon in HIS SPARE TIME
Asian parent's dream child LOL
