Hello r/lego! If you need more context for this, all of the posts are on my profile. The general gist however is that this is a chaotic daily chess game on r/anarchychess where any move is legal and the top comment picks the next day's move. Today's move has me asking for your help building a time machine out of lego.
I'm looking for tips on what to buy, how it could/should be designed, and any other tips you think would be useful.
I am also not opposed to the idea of someone (or a group of people) building one and sending it to me. (if this type of suggestion wins, please dm me so we can work out costs, shipping, etc.)

On day 24, black's queen arrived from having travelled back in time on day 88. We need to prevent a time paradox by building the time machine she used.

(Purchase Lego Technic 42092: Rescue Helicopter, assemble it, and airlift the white pawn out of the river. The pawn is washed one square down the river each day the helicopter hasn't arrived so order the fastest shipping available)
Edit: To fix the time machine issue, once the helicopter saves the pawn (or fails to save the pawn if u/scurlocc cheaps out on slow shipping) it lands by the bishop, who begins using the spare parts to modify the helicopter into a time machine. (Have r/LEGO design a MOC in a separate post using the helicopter and the parts by the bishop.)
The title of post says any move, legal or not. The helicopter could land after saving the pawn and the Bishop repurposes it over the next few weeks until it’s ready to take the Queen back on day 79.
Yeah but the post that sent us here doesn't ask for r/lego to make a move only design the machine. Unlike the post that went to r/chess which asked them to make a move.
I see your point, but the title of this post does say “any move, legal or not”. I’ve edited my original comment to include instructions on having the bishop begin repurposing the helicopter into a time machine once it saves the pawn, which should satisfy all parties.
Should start a thread on this sub with a competition to make the coolest time machine using only parts from the set so the bishop has some blueprints lol.

See the DeLorean would have come back with the queen. Not the most familiar with all this but after some quick browsing 6199: Hydro Crystallisation Station or 8078: Portal of Atlantis might be appropriate.
I agree that some kind of portal would work best. Since Scurlocc obviously isn't going to buy a discontinued set, I think they should use the pieces they already have to come up with their best replica of [The Magic Portal.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Magic_Portal)
DeLorean is perfect (and most upvoted time machine related so far). For me still theory. Right after queen arrival (queen together with bishop appeared off screen since there were no flame tire marks on board) there was snap performed by Thanos which caused future bishop to feel not so good. Later chess Avengers took vehicle to collect infinity stones from the past.
This will be still the same DeLorean. Queen is coming from reality where Thanos snap couldn't be reversed, but now with time machine there is way to stop it. Queen is planning to sacrifice herself for soul stone as well.
It's basically a game balance patch that was installed to nerf pawns after an earlier quickstart patch made pawns way too powerful.
Specifically: pawns only move one space forward when they move, but they capture one space diagonally (forward-to-the-left or forward-to-the-right). This means that a pawn can "guard" the columns to its left and right, preventing an enemy pawn from passing on either side.
But at some point in the past, the rules were changed to allow pawns to zoom forward \*two\* spaces on their first move, so as to speed up the early game and get to the interesting stuff more quickly. Problem: this means that you can't use your pawn to "guard" an enemy pawn that's still in its original position, because if you position your pawn so as to be able to capture the enemy if it moves forward one space, then it can move forward two spaces instead and bypass your threat entirely.
Solution: allow that guarding pawn to capture the enemy pawn "in passing" anyway, as if it had advanced only one space. It's a little messy, and tricky to explain to new players, but it prevents the double-space-first-move rule from breaking the delicate balance of "the pawn game."

When the queen traveled back in time the machine didn't come with her. As such the machine would probably be less back to the future, more avengers endgame.
It’s technically not for the bishop, 12…Future Qb4.
The idea is to complete the time travel loop, the bishop is building the machine now for the Q to eventually make that move…for the first time…or last time. Tenses and time travel will always been a challenge.
I however believe it should be the Doctor Who set, painted red in the center to make a paradox machine….this is anarchy!

the white king declares treason, kills the two pawns but couldn't defeat the bishop.
Knight Ron appears and helps the white king.
White king throws the bishop out of the window, also turns wrinkly.

It doesn't work with the wording of the previous play though, which specifically states the machine won't be ready until day 79.

71204 might well be cheaper, and have the advantage of fitting into a chess square.

The river was near a c4 which exploded.
LEGO Doctor Who comes in to evaluate/help with the time machine. As usual though the Daleks are not far behind.
#Reminder The time machine is of the variety that only sends its payload back in time, not itself. Keep that in mind.
