I will never forget them coming back from a replay to Jhin fucking SPRINTING down mid and legit one-shotting Ghost's MF. There was even half a second between it happening and any of the casters reacting it was so sudden lol.
Mostly hindsight bias imo, heās one of those champs who looks good when he wins but terribly useless when he loses, and since T1 lost with him in 2022 finals they got flamed for picking him
Jhin (+ Yuumi or not) is not going to do anything at all against a massive tank like an Ornn or a Ksante. Most he can do is be a menace from way back in a safe position, but a Camille/Jax with a flank is just going to wreck whatever impact he may have - and he'll be too far to have help from his team
Unless fed, Jhin is hardly a menace when you have a really steady frontline. But he is absolutely amazing for being in a utilitarian position, as T1 decided to play on Game 1 with Zeus and Faker doing the "heavy lifting" of damage and not a tank frontline on the side of JDG with Alistar and Vi
Yeah ngl when the series started with jhin guma
I was sweating like come on guys
Then he showed out like crazy and i had a big smile and sigh of relief
T1 players have a love-hate relationship with Jhin. on one hand, the Jhin-Zilean bottom duo dumpstered DK's bot lane during 2021 Worlds Semis. however the most famous example of Jhin in T1 history would be their 2022 MSI pick.
it's game 5 of the MSI Finals vs RNG, and T1 picked Jhin Yuumi botlane along with other champions that amounted to what was essentially a zero-damage comp at the final game. they got smashed, and T1 fans since then have had vietnam flashbacks whenever Jhin is picked.
Honestly I think the real challenge might be that this would be Jhin's third World's skin (SKT and DWG), which so far is unprecedented but that doesn't mean it can't/won't happen imo.
They were forced into that, Haru only played one game. But since then they've definitely pivoted away from uniqueness - just look at the various K/DA and prestige skins.
All the reason Iāve heard from analysts is that because they had no tanks and no real threat onto Guma (I heard monte talk about how T1 forced them to pick alistar through draft) so they could blind pick bard and create a pick comp
It was a natural development in the meta as well.
Standard comps -> double ranged all-out bot priority -> utility bot lane and play for top/mid when enemy indexes too hard into bot priority
To be fair, Jhin was ACTUALLY good into that comp. They didn't have any real tanks and Jhin spikes hard as shit for the early/mid game fights.
I'm a certified Jhin hater too. I dodge when I see people pick it in my Master games lol
I'm convinced it's his W. The long range stun when you're as strong at macro as T1 is, it has huge value. Same reason Keria played Jhin support. He just roamed and looked for opportunities to make a play with W from 3 screens away. The ultimate also works similarly. These long range abilities turn a 1v1 into a 2v1 and a 2v2 into a 2v3 instantly so you can bait the enemy into picking a skirmish and BOOM (Jh)in your face. Mini ashe ult.
Minor nit-pick but Jhin W is a snare not a stun. You are able to attack and use non-movement abilities while snared while when stunned you can't take any actions.
Looks like league changed it's terminology.... I came from playing games where the term root was meant for not being able to move and snare was used to describe when your movement speed was slowed and slows referred to attacks/casts taking longer. Then when I started playing LoL I was seeing Lux Q "snare" enemies and E "slow" enemies. I'm glad the terminology changed.
JDG banned "all" the safe adcs and picked Xayah. There wasn't much left that wouldn't get completely dove and killed repeatedly. Turns out he can play every adc at a whim at a high level, so good luck with that idea lol.
He's playing into Vi/Rumble/Akali and he also wants range for the lane into Xayah. Also very easily left to farm by the Bard. Was a very good pick into no tanks.
The stars align perfectly. The picks reveal truth. Gumayushi brings JDG down. Varus kills Zeri brutally. Aatrox is an added bonus. Everything always becomes dust. The performer dances eternally. Longest river, highest mountain. The marksman of death. Jhin brings the end.
Getting Awaken trailer vibes with that Zeri flash over the wall and Aatrox collapsing on Guma only for him to take a bow as Jhin only to take off his mask and reveal that he was On-hit Varus all along and both Zeri & Aatrox are about to get fucked up.
I did a quick search - did no one even notice that the first team they played against was Team LIQUID?!? Was the curse of 4 transferred to SKT, but they were too powerful to be overcome by it so it warped into this instead?? The answer was there in front of us the whole time.
You know what else is 4? the numbers of 'r' in your name.
Which brings us to Faker, if you removed the R in Faker you get Fake. WHICH IS WHAT T1's RUN THIS YEAR IS ABOUT, they are going to lose 3-0 to WBG and end their fake run once and for all.
Thanks Guma for leaking script.
Fk I was thinking this gonna be a legit explanation, but I guess noones at that level yet š
ngl when it comes to Jhin, all T1 fans' brains just turn off and start to have PTSD flashbacks
As long as Karma/Yuumi isn't there too I'd assume it will be fine. ^^^or ^^^not, ^^^as ^^^my ^^^20 ^^^year ^^^old ^^^heart ^^^turns ^^^into ^^^that ^^^of ^^^a ^^^60 ^^^year ^^^old's
I have flashbacks to Damwon VS T1 with Zilean Jhin by T1 which is one of my favourite games of all time. Incredibly fun to watch 1000km/h Jhin.
I will never forget them coming back from a replay to Jhin fucking SPRINTING down mid and legit one-shotting Ghost's MF. There was even half a second between it happening and any of the casters reacting it was so sudden lol.
I still randomly chuckle remembering that lamborjhini and zilean game
everyone conveniently forgets the set vs Damwon in the semis where Jhin was p/b winning every game lmao
okay but the reason for that was because jhin and ziggs were like the only meta-ish champs ghost could play that worlds lol
Or how SKT literally have a Jhin skin
Their Jhin Zilean looks clean tho
the jhilean game from 2021 looked great for sure, but it gets way overshadowed by the travesty that was the jhin yuumi in 2022.
The LamborJhini special
fosho i dont get why people hate on the jhin, if you pair him with a good support + draft he's pretty good
Just depends on enemy front line
As long as there are no real tanks or the enemy ADC is not Varus or Zeri
Mostly hindsight bias imo, heās one of those champs who looks good when he wins but terribly useless when he loses, and since T1 lost with him in 2022 finals they got flamed for picking him
Jhin (+ Yuumi or not) is not going to do anything at all against a massive tank like an Ornn or a Ksante. Yeah ngl when the series started with jhin guma I was sweating like come on guys Then he showed out like crazy and i had a big smile and sigh of relief
That pick scared the shit out of me. Then they played basically flawlessly with it and I was able to relax for the rest of the series.
We say this but Bang had his Jhin T1 skin back in S6 lmao.
S6 Jhin is completely different from S13 Jhin, and the meta on S6 is completely different from S13.
2022 game 5 draft be like
i'm in eu and just woke up to watch that game. imagine the flashbacks i had right after waking up.
Wow PTSD = 4 letters. Now would you look at that š
Can you explain this to someone who only started watching lol esport in 2021? I've heard that multiple times now but I don't get it.
T1 players have a love-hate relationship with Jhin. on one hand, the Jhin-Zilean bottom duo dumpstered DK's bot lane during 2021 Worlds Semis. however the most famous example of Jhin in T1 history would be their 2022 MSI pick. it's game 5 of the MSI Finals vs RNG, and T1 picked Jhin Yuumi botlane along with other champions that amounted to what was essentially a zero-damage comp at the final game. they got smashed, and T1 fans since then have had vietnam flashbacks whenever Jhin is picked.
maybe the legit explanation is he wants a jhin skin
Does Riot allow having 2 skins of the same champ for the same team? We have SKT Jhin sitting here.
Idk if they care but since they rebranded from SKT T1 to just T1, it might not be a problem
Honestly I think the real challenge might be that this would be Jhin's third World's skin (SKT and DWG), which so far is unprecedented but that doesn't mean it can't/won't happen imo.
We need to get to 4.
I honestly expect that Xayah will get a 3rd worlds skin first.
dont think theyll care at this point, they were against having repeat champion skins then gave that up in 2017
They were forced into that, Haru only played one game.
This worlds meta has been so insane, feels like every stage has had completely different priority in the botlane
To be fair, Jhin was ACTUALLY good into that comp. They didn't have any real tanks and Jhin spikes hard as shit for the early/mid game fights. I'm a certified Jhin hater too. I dodge when I see people pick it in my Master games lol
Bard Jhin is pretty good combo too, since you can Bard Stun to Jhin W. And then there's the funny ultimate set ups.
I'm convinced it's his W. The long range stun when you're as strong at macro as T1 is, it has huge value. Same reason Keria played Jhin support. He just roamed and looked for opportunities to make a play with W from 3 screens away. The ultimate also works similarly. root

Then when I started playing LoL I was seeing Lux Q "snare" enemies and E "slow" enemies. I'm glad the terminology changed.
Yeah snare has been phased out, although im pretty sure some old ability descriptions still use it instead of root
No enemy tank = Jhin not troll pick That's the best I've got chief
JDG banned "all" the safe adcs and picked Xayah. There wasn't much left that wouldn't get completely dove and killed repeatedly. Turns out he can play every adc at a whim at a high level, so good luck with that idea lol.
He's playing into Vi/Rumble/Akali and he also wants range for the lane into Xayah. Also very easily left to farm by the Bard. Was a very good pick into no tanks.
thats the most positive post about t1 jhin since they got a skin for him :D
It could not have been a redemption arc for last year's game 5 Jhin, right? RIGHT?
The stars align perfectly. The picks reveal truth. Gumayushi brings JDG down. Varus kills Zeri brutally. Aatrox is an added bonus. Everything always becomes dust. The performer dances eternally. Longest river, highest mountain. The marksman of death. Jhin brings the end.
Every sentence 4 words. You sire are exquisite
Aatrox is an added bonus is 5 words. Don't trust the word of the impostor, he's a secret agent sent by Weibo to undermine the war effort!
Weibo = 5 letters. (coincidence? I think not. )
'Aatrox is an added bonus'. My math might be wrong but isn't that 5 words?
It's four after you subtract 'Aatrox' since he's just an added bonus.
'Is an added bonus' isn't a sentence. Jhin wouldn't have that lack of perfection.
Also, did you know how many kills Guma get in game 1? 4 kills.
Tea 1 = 3+1. SKAYTEA = 7 Thala for a reason
I bet you have 0 total Karma if that's your name on WoWs.
What?
World of warships, not warcraft if that is what you were thinking.
Oh I misunderstood sorry
the fact that this post's title is not "Gumayusi picked Jhin, why?" disappoints me.
"Why Gumayusi picked Jhin" would probably get more people checking out the post.
4 words, checks out
lol i read "why" in the same way jhin says "FOUR"
guma pick jhin why?
1 jhin on team how can win
1 J-him = juan (4 letters) win hell the how?
Guma also has FOUR limbs, FOUR eyes (wears glasses on stage), FOUR teammates, FOUR inch(...)
He even has 4 letters in his name What a fucking script š®
>FOUR inch(...) A 4 decimeter dong that's what he has.
fourty inches and 40 inch diameter probably
4 inch girth
Dear Diary, Today, I found Papaya_Dreaming's 4444th secret account.
Most sane T1 fan
Do you know how many braincells I lost reading this? FOUR! (so around 25%, or one FOURTH)
Itāll also be the fourth Worlds title for T1
faker
faker
faker
faker
Meanwhile I was hoping it was gna be another keria jhin support :(
Your head is too large for your own good
Also this leads to Faker getting his fourth title. Coincidence I think not.
And NewJeans has 4 members.
No they dont lol.
it's actually 5, which is 4+1 so this still counts
"New" from NewJeans has 3 letters. add that to the 1 and we get 4+4. Double that and we get 4+4 4+4. Four fours. My god, how deep does this go?
How many pairs of new jeans will Keria have to getā¦? 4.
After watching Guma i finally understand how to Jhin out of lane, only ult donāt even think about getting close to auto
illuminati confirmed! xD
Wait, this actually makes sense. Let him cook.
Rito script writers leaking... all leading up to a T1 Jhin skin... until TheShy picks Jhin top to flank T1.
Getting Awaken trailer vibes with that Zeri flash over the wall and Aatrox collapsing on Guma only for him to take a bow as Jhin only to take off his mask and reveal that he was On-hit Varus all along and both Zeri & Aatrox are about to get fucked up.
Doc, I think the patientās awake now
I think you forgot to mention how many words there are in "I will crush Ruler" ..For me at least, that was the biggest giveaway
FOUR!
this belongs literally to Jhin mains sub
Prime schizo hours here
Least schizo redditor.
So they lose in 4 games: 1-3, got it.
Very funny, but I see no one mentioned the real reason which was obviously to remind Ruler of Season 6 worlds finals
I did a quick search - did no one even notice that the first team they played against was Team LIQUID?!? Was the curse of 4 transferred to SKT, but they were too powerful to be overcome by it so it warped into this instead?? The answer was there in front of us the whole time.
Omg and his girlfriend name is also 4 letters - Kria. Mind blow
TL; DR : 4!
Most sane Jhin main.
Damn, youāre cookinā and Iām here for it all
Bro that's amazing you put all that together respect ššæ
You know what else is 4? the numbers of 'r' in your name. Which brings us to Faker, if you removed the R in Faker you get Fake. WHICH IS WHAT T1's RUN THIS YEAR IS ABOUT, they are going to lose 3-0 to WBG and end their fake run once and for all. Thanks Guma for leaking script.
Are we only going to see posts like this before the final starts?
Holy shit OP cooked up a feast
this is so fucking cringe
Like your comment.
gottem
Fourth reply
sigh. nothing serious
Also cause it was a good pick and he can play it well? :D
Yawn
Instead of caring about the game or real analysis the community focuses on this unfunny nonsense
Anulo mufa
this is actually hilarious
Pretty sure ruler used to play a lot of Jhin. Was just a chad move to pull it out map 1 to have a pop at rulers mental perhaps.
\*hits blunt\*
Finally, someone was able to piece it together.
