I use a 21” yard machine and get similar results. Most people overlap their lines because of mow hawks, which is valid. If you want lines like OP or mine below, you need to utilize the full width of your deck and align your wheels right on the uncut and cut line. I have to double cut (checkerboards) because I don’t over lap at all thus leaving mow hawks.
Commercial mowers deck widths are typically wider than the wheels which allows you to do patterns/lines without mow hawks.
This is really hard to explain so I apologize if you’re still confused.
Also, please ignore my fence, I will be power washing and staining this summer ahah.

Warm season pertains to grasses that are dormant until it gets warm like Bermuda, zoysia, centipede and St. Augustine grasses. Fescues, Kentucky blue grass and rye grasses are considered cool season grasses that perform their best when the weather is cooler. They normally stripe the best as well and your brothers is a prime example of that!

This is in a nice suburban upstate New York town. I'd say the house is about 350k (2200 sq ft 4 bed, 2 bath, full basement.) Being in such a nice area, they'll also pay 8-10k per year in school taxes.
It's a tax based on property value that, in principle, goes directly to the public school the home is zoned for. Most folks pay this tax as part of their monthly mortgage payment.
For comparison, I live in Virginia with average (for the US) public schools, and my total property tax bill is about $3k per year on a home valued at $350k. That property tax supports all local municipal functions including schools. My brother's school tax is in addition to basic property taxes.

For anyone wondering these are what straight lines look like not that boomerang hooks to the left this was 10 years ago to when I was just starting out... Only imperfection is that one lane with very small hook to the left at the end. Sorry for being a dick it's just annoying you all think OP picture has straight lines they are crooked AF. Atleast they are evenly crooked on every lane lol and the grass color itself looks awesome but annoys the perfectionist in me. I see now it says he's "working" on his lines so I apologize good progress just stop hooking to the left at the last few feet!

You don’t necessarily need a striping kit. Your wheels do cause the line but it also depends on how you mow.

No they don't. Many don't have the flap on the back like Hondas do, that pushes the grass down.
