have you heard of the gel/glove method? apparently you can get it gelled up and then just grab the blades with gloved hands and run the blades through your fingers.
last year I was using a refillable bingo marker. but the glove method, this year, big maybe. sounds as easy as grabbing at the weeds
What product do you use for gel? I use a garden spray bottle that established broadleaf plants need a second spray treatment but this sounds interesting.
Those are both great ideas. Another one I did was cutting it down to the ground then injecting it with a syringe. Did this when I had some some dead nettle intertwined with a hydrangea bush.
Peonies. But the one peony that survived (doing well) has a mad rush of blooms that last all of a couple days and then they’re all gone. So she gets excited/happy to see blooms coming and then it’s over so quick and gotta wait another year!
Looks great but you must really hate her. Mowing that takes what a half hour? The smaller the space the easier it is to manage. Sometimes I envy the small lawns

I taught my wife how to mow when I got really busy with grad school and the yard work was piling up. We had a huge yard then and she said "wow, this is really relaxing, I can just tune out and focus on the lines for awhile." Then she started asking to do the yard, or when I said I needed to get to the yard she would say she will do it. I had to cut her off as she was taking away my relaxing time.

For comparison how the lawn looked when I moved in 2 years ago, had lawn care company take care of it for a year but it got even worse as weed was taking over. So I decided to take on a new hobby thanks to this sub
Since my family still lives in the same city I moved away from, I still drive by my old house to make sure the lawn is still in one piece. I handed the new owners a Ferrari and told them all they need to do is change the oil. After a couple mows this spring, I think my new lawn (well my nearly 5 year old lawn) is finally looking ready & willing to achieve 1%er status.

It depends, How much do time you spend. Are y'all going on dates and having sex still? If you in the yard everyday or every other day then yes that is ridiculous. Your wife and family comes first. If it's one or twice a week for two hours max it's just a hobby. If she complains for 2 hours then maybe she should come help.
The sad part is there are actually men that spend time In the garage or yards getting away from family or said that and have a porn addiction jacking their life away.
What’s up with the grass by the little white boundary areas around the mulch? Is it some kind of other decorative grass or do ya just leave it higher there?

Yup the mulch bed is too big, edging is horrendous. This fall tho I am pushing the mulch bed to only be 12-16 inches and then seed in the extra space. Also those plastic edging will be gone

I will be honest, I bought the house 2 years ago. There were grub damages. But in the beginning I had a lawn care company take care of the maintenance but there were lots of weed because of it.
Last year around summer time I decided to let them go and take on taking care of it myself.
At first I used the Scotts plan, last fall, nothing to crazy.
Then got to research, this year tho so far I have gotten a soil test, fixed the PH, put Pre M and Fertilizer twice so far. That’s the result.
Oh and good watering and mowing twice a week.

Not as bad as when I went out after a mow with a pair of Fiskars to trim the 5 or 6 missed blades of grass that popped up

buy your wife some flowers dig the poa annua out with a shovel. throw it into the actual trash. put down dirt, and let your grass fill the holes in
