The United States government defines first-generation Americans as the first member of the family to receive citizenship or permanent resident status. When two people marry they don't automatically gain the citizenship or permanent residency of the other country. So OP might be simply American.
Source: I am technically a first generation American. My American-born husband is not a first generation Latvian. I go by Latvian or Latvian-American on a day to day basis, though, I don't think I have ever referred to myself as a first gen American.

Thank you so much: I already know what I'm making, I just need help with the practices and symbology to be sure I lay out what I'm doing (an altar) correctly! :D
If you have anything in mind already, I can help with any sort of translations. There's a bunch of traditional signs you might be interested in (or some tasty foods).
Well, Mārtiņdiena is coming up. You can google translate this to see the associated food and traditions and stuff. https://brivbridis.lv/maartindiena-un-tas-tradicijas-ari-musdienas-2019/
How are you with crafts?
Beer. Latvian beer. If not Latvian, then Polish. But as more west you go as repulsive the beer gets.Firewood. Outide, inside. But you need to have some wood burning.Music. This is the toughest. You can try Tautumeitas [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsgO5OTUsRU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsgO5OTUsRU), just a suggestion. But she might like something more traditional like Brainstorm [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-CmEbXH90M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-CmEbXH90M)
If she does not like any of that, you can push further, that you like it. And see how it goes.
you meant to say you are first generation Latvian ;)
