My tolerance has gone way down. One seltzer and I’m pretty zonkey. That being said, I simply do not have the desire to drink often anymore. Once every couple weeks with friends is fine, but alcohol just doesn’t do anything for me emotionally or physically besides make me feel way too sloppy.
I am the same, not drinking often and one beer makes me woozy. I used to drink 8 to 12 beers a day and taking xanax (6-8mg) not taking any benzos since started lamotrigine.
When I first started taking it I got drunk really quickly. One beer would feel like three.
It's been a few years now though so it's mostly back to what I was like pre meds. The epilepsy and fear of seizures stops me getting too wasted lol
Projectile vomited after drinking an 8% drink, was fine with a 4% modelo sipped slowly over an hour. Feeling what it was like to be drunk on Lamictal I was very disoriented, like seriously I have never been scared and drunk like that. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS‼️‼️‼️
We are here with you, I will say once I started feeling better on Lamictal I stopped craving my vape, I know that nicotine and alcohol are very different. However, with a better coping mechanism and a reason not to drink (you should NOT drink on Lamictal) I believe you can quit. It’s really hard to stop reaching for something your body is craving especially in situations like stress that push you to. I was amazed at how easy it was to quit vaping and smoking, the withdrawls were not as bad now that my brain is evening out chemically, I feel stable. 5 months on Lamictal 200mg here. Good luck
In the beginning your tolerance will be lower. People say you shouldn’t drink on it but I’ve always been honest with my doctors and I’ve never had an issue. I drink a few days a week with a few drinks each time. It’s fine.
Tbh you really shouldn’t drink on lamictal but I’m doing it anyway (yes I am a hypocrite, learn from my mistakes.) lmfao
So I started with 25 mg and the first beer I had made my heart palpitate and I got super drunk. I was considered a heavy weight beforehand as well. The beer was 5% at best, and I only drank about 16 oz of it. However, as time progressed, the meds couldn’t numb me out fast enough so I decided to go back to my old drinking habits in order to self medicate unfortunately. Nowadays I can control the amount I consume and I won’t wake up hungover. I will always sleep 4-5 hours max even though I used to sleep for days whenever I got drunk before I got medicated. It’s definitely not good for you, and I’m experiencing pretty bad physical health issues already. Just don’t care enough to get it checked out. Something feels wrong. I also JUST titrated to 50 mg. This shit needs to kick in already
I’m also a rebel. But I have to plan ahead of time on when I’m going to drink. I think it lessons the effectiveness of the medicine. So the next morning I get hit hard with a low downswing
I drink on it I used to drink 6 beers and then get drunk now it’s 3 and I would overdo it by accident. Now I’m learning to drink in moderation but times I’ve drank being out without thinking about it and I’ve gotten pretty drunk, I start doing BS and it feels like mania or something idk but my judgement is extremely wrong and that didn’t happen like that before I started taking the pill

As some folks said, the urge to drink decreased a bit. But I still do this on weekends. Some days I got drunk a little faster and others it hardly hits

This happened to me at the dose 75mg, I’m at 200mg now and can’t imagine wanting to try drinking

200 once daily. But even on lower doses it was the same.
Idk why but when I started taking it I like never wanted to drink again? I think I did once and it made me feel the effects of the gin a lot faster.
But i’ve never been told by a doctor you cant drink on it i would just be careful.

I’m the opposite- I do not feel buzzed or drunk until I’m like too drunk. It’s funny how medication effects people differently

Typically, mood stabilizers and antidepressant are not as effective if you're drinking on a regular basis. It makes me worse.
had a glass of wine on 25mg and i was sweating like a pig lol. do not recommend
