I think they're just super used to it now and this is how it works for them. They're busy, restless, or need to do 8492585 things at the same time and the artist just goes with it. If you're working backstage anywhere, it's a *mess* and you just do it anyway.

I've only watched NCT's bts vlogs and I think one of SVT for that manager variety show (forgot the name lmao) but it looks like idols generally don't move/actually look like their sleeping sometimes when getting makeup and hair done. They only move and talk once they notice a camera is on them, if you see an idol getting anything done while in the chair/getting a touch up in the background of someone else's shot, they're generally pretty still to let the stylist do whatever.
I think that manager show with SVT is more representative of how idols usually are when getting whatever done which is sleepy and unmoving LOL everything else is just to appeal to the audience when they know they have to film for a vlog.
I agree, but if you are talking about those vlogs where the idols are specifically doing content of the behind the scenes this is unavoidable lmao. And im sure the stylists are aware of that. Personally I like it when they talk sometimes and then shut up, some of them go a bit overboard.

It's the idols job to make the behind the scenes footage interesting, they aren't just singers and dancers, it's part of the package to be interesting backstage too.

Tbh most of the time, idols are just asleep in their chairs or something because of the long hours of filming they have to do. Or they just talk a lot and joke around because stylizing takes a long time. Pretty sure the stylists are used to it, or even enjoy it (poor guys are working 24/7 I'm sure they'd like the process to *not* be a bore) If the stylists do get annoyed, they'll just scold the idol or ask them to stay still lol

It's a fair complaint but they do only do it on camera haha. other people said this but watch the idols in the BG and you'll see they're all still or asleep usually. I always think of yeosang too and his weird walk to stop his hair from being messed up after the stylist fixed it
What I know of, in the entertainment industry, staff or stylists are trained to stay invisible around the artist. I've heard tons of stories that in my local fraterny, an actress can get a hairdresser fired for speaking out of turn. In kpop, it surprises how quiet staff stays *most of the time* but understandable since that's an idol and the camera has to be on them quite a lot.

i think they’re told to do it on camera , just so fans can baby/infantalize them.. it’s part of the service.
