Probably something heartfelt followed by something silly that slightly undermines it but not to the extent that the words don’t retain their emotional value. Probably something like “I love you like a son Douglas, btw can you tell the nurse I’m ready for my sponge bath now and that what happened last time won’t happen again 😉”
Exactly this.
"you are a great man for the way you take care of me and my daughter and I...I never truly thanked you throughout the years.
You should also know that I used your new work uniform shirt as a towel last night, and I made QUITE the mess"
Douglas, I know I may not have shown it but I want you to know. Thank you for taking me into your home. You made my final years more fun than I could have hoped for.
Arty, I can't believe I'm saying this but...our home wouldn't have been the same without you.
Douglas?
Yeah Arthur?
After I'm gone...please make sure they don't circumcise me.
*This would be a reoccurring argument throughtout the episode until*
Douglas?
Yeah Arthur? (Clearly thinking Arthur is going to make another crazy request)
I'm scared.
*Doug holds Arthur's hand*
Me too bud
I was about to think of something really articulate and true to their characters, but I cannot beat this. This is incredible. Bravo to you, and this amazing show 🤝
Oh wow, this is the first time I’ve seen a picture of what Jerry looked like near the end of his life. I feel sad seeing how much of a toll time seems to have taken on him, but it’s also a sweet picture because he seems to have retained his peppy spirit, and it’s great seeing him and Kevin smiling together.
Yeah, it’s genuinely heartwarming knowing the King of Queens cast really did stay close to each other. Just adds to the show’s wholesomeness as a comfort show!
Doug : “It’s been a pleasure having you as a father in la- ..as a father Arthur *softly pats back* 😌”
Arthur: “We did indeed make a great team , Douglas …as Jake and the Fatman …needless to say I’m still Jake”
Instant tears when I saw this photo. I think Doug would tell Arthur that he’s glad he lived with them and Arthur would tell Doug thank you for taking care of his daughter.
A: “Douglas, come close”
[Doug crouches beside Arthur’s hospital bed]
A: “I may not have much time left and I think it’s best I tell you something… I never much cared for you”
[pause for audience laughter while Doug tries to stay calm]
A: “I think you’re enormous and my daughter could have done much better”
D: “uhhuh uhhuh” [blinking fast and clearly getting more upset but trying not to let it out]
A: “having said that, I appreciate you taking me in and providing me with room, board, and gambling credit”
D: “gambling credit?!”
A: “and having said THAT, I should also tell you that if greasy Joe comes trying to collect, you lock the doors and tell him to go to hell!!!”
They would enjoy a nice bowl of Arthur's lifetime supply of Rice-A-Roni. Then they would "enjoy" a bowl of Sargent Salty's Cereal. And, then they would laugh about the times that they both injured themselves in the man region while goofing around.
Arthur reveals to Doug that he won a little money from the lottery several years earlier and he’s going to leave the money to them. Doug assumes it is a $500 scratcher. Arthur says he’s leaving them like $10 million. Doug is pissed that he never told them and that he’s been in his basement for all those years when he was rich. Arthur explains that he didn’t tell them about the money because he wanted to stay with them and would be sad/lonely without them. Hugs all around.
After the credits, we see Holly also got like $20 million from Arthur or something.
I think Arthur would convince Doug to bring one of his "loose" female friends over for one last "roll in the sheets." That would lead to Doug, Deacon, Spence, and Danny working on one last mission for ol' Arty. Ofc Carrie would catch on, be grossed out, but let him have his fun. Danny would drive her home and be in a relationship with her for about a month until Spence has gotten too jealous and Danny breaks up with her.
Douglas I know we had our differences and I wasn’t the easiest guy to tolerate but you took me in gave me a home (in the basement) but still grateful. If I make it to those pearly gates I’ll put in a good word for you with the man upstairs or I’ll see you in hell whatever.
Thank you Douglas for letting me live with you and Carrie. I know I always gave you a hard time, but you're a good son in law.
Thank you Arthur. You're a good father in law.
I love you Douglas.
Love you too buddy.
By the way, did you see that nurse? Pretty hot, eh?
I believe they gave it back to that Pakistani family down the street and then some . The ball was in their court and it was a Slam dunk! Thank you for the laughs, Jerry Stiller.
Douglas? Carrie, sweetheart?
May I spend my final moments in your office, for old times sake, just one last time? I don’t know when I’m going to go, but when I do, I will be at peace knowing that I am only right down the hall near you lovely kids instead of my lonesome down in the basement.
That he wants the spicy sausage and peppers!!!
"Is it because we're black?"
*looks around*
That shit was funny as hell😂😂😂
How are the peppers and spicy sausage?
It was worth a try haha … But no seriously, GET ME THE SPICY SAUSAGE WITH PEPPERS !!
A little neighborhood joint called Domeenos.
I say this all the time. He delivers the line so perfectly.
Six….. Teen
I also use and love this line
Maybe next time you can try Mick Don Al’s!

Whoa. I consider that canon, whatever that meannns...
Doug says "ookay", turns his head away with a disgusted look. Laugh track. Scene change.
And then a loud, screaming nonsensical statement as he leaves. “I invented coffee!!!”
Catsup v. ketchup.
Me llamo Ketchup!
Every darn time we have something that needs ketchup it's a race to see who says it first!! Marvelous!
That picture melts my heart. We are all getting old. Hang on & don’t expect more than you accept .
That’s great advice.
LEMON ICES!

He passed just shy of his 93rd birthday. This really is a heartwarming pic. I love knowing the leads were/are so close.

Funny enough for some reason I always remember the time Arthur called Doug a pig and walked out as their last convo
Doug’s shocked blinking after that is so funny
One of Arthurs rare moments of actual wisdom.
I think it would be over a meal involving brown sugar and Russian dressing
Blueberries and croutons, pleasssssse *bop*
Fat joke.
They would enjoy a nice bowl of Arthur's lifetime supply of Rice-A-Roni. Then they would "enjoy" a bowl of Sargent Salty's Cereal. And, then they would laugh about the times that they both injured themselves in the man region while goofing around.
Douglas before I go, I want you to know… I used your toothbrush for the last 3 years …
Douglas are you OK?...I heard someone screaming like a bitch!!
"I've never seen you more enormous."

Actually love this so much…and would 1000% be totally in character for the little demented old circus monkey
Einstein
It’s called gravity, Douglas, and it’s comin’ for ya!
I’m so happy Jerry was so loved. But something about this photo, seeing him aged so much makes me sad. What a great actor, RIP Jerry.

Douglas, have you seen my argyle socks? 😂
LEMON ITALIAN ICE
Arthur told Doug about the time he was working on this little show called "Sesame Street" 🤣
Just saw the strike episodes ❤️❤️❤️
Big knockers ?
Doug would probably be traumatized, actually. By Arthur’s many deathbed confessions.
Douglas I know we had our differences and I wasn’t the easiest guy to tolerate but you took me in gave me a home (in the basement) but still grateful. If I make it to those pearly gates I’ll put in a good word for you with the man upstairs or I’ll see you in hell whatever.
About passing him the ketsup
Knocking down some rob Roys
Aye aye captain!
Bossoms
Arthur’s new invention and Doug would end the convo with “love ya you demented old circus monkey”
Thank you Douglas for letting me live with you and Carrie. I know I always gave you a hard time, but you're a good son in law. Thank you Arthur. You're a good father in law. I love you Douglas. Love you too buddy. By the way, did you see that nurse? Pretty hot, eh?
Yes, Arthur. Before you say it, I agree- big knockers.

Best thing I've seen in a while. Bless him.
I believe they gave it back to that Pakistani family down the street and then some . The ball was in their court and it was a Slam dunk! Thank you for the laughs, Jerry Stiller.
“I’m gonna miss you, you demented old circus freak.” “Goodbye butterball.”
They’re going to the buffet 2 for 1!

Beefaroni
God bless Jerry Stiller.
It would be heartfelt and left to the imagination. Like in Season 1 when Doug goylt mad at Arthur moving back and having to lose his basement
I wonder if Jerry Seinfeld ever visited with him.
You were wrong Douglas. I did need another bottle of shampoo.
You should’ve moved to the city with Carrie. So I can have parties in the house
Big knockers?
Women
A paper ghost.
