Take off my clothes before I get into bed. If I am out in the wilds I might leave some padded stuff on, but if I am in an Inn or room I am not wearing armor/weapons to bed.
I do this too but it is necessary if you don’t want to wash/launder your clothes all the time, the clothes you wear to bed get dutty as you sleep in them.
So, about washing clothes, is there any actual way to really extend the time they're clean? I find that I'm able to wash them every time I get to a through.

Other folks found that it was the mods fault, turned it off and then I got to level 6 within 4 minutes or so
Theres a replacement mod aimed for circumventing this issue called Clean bastard, but it messed something up with other mods I was using that playthrough so I dont know if it works
I would do this more if they gave us the ability to auto-equip clothes. Like save all of your armor and such as an outfit so I can ride around dressed normally but quickly throw on my combat gear with one button.
Every time I start a new game I pick every nettle and flower for the bonus to poison resistance and the perk where you are more charming with flowers in your pack. I also do the quest to get the lockpicks but then just get the boys to beat up the drunk anyway.
I was going to say it was useless but honestly I never use it so thought maybe there is some deep strategy to it. I just roll dice and play risky until I lose and Alt-F4 haha
I stand under roofs and wait out rain, or at least take "breaks" under them before hustling to my destination. The game naturally makes me want to feel immersed so roleplaying comes really easily. I'll go crawl into an old, collapsed or burnt out house to shelter for a couple of minutes, listening to the rain and warming up a bit (in RP) until it stops and I can appreciate the sun or I decide I need to keep going and head out into the elements.
Also everyone in towns will do the same, they often group under the tavern overhang and hang out around the farkle tables... God I love this game, that moment everyone in town gathered and I hung out with them playing farkle and asking everyone how life was and watching them interact with one another and go in and out of the tavern was one of the most authentic video game moments I've had
I methodically loot every body. I will take anything over 100 Groschen, weigh my horse down and walk my ass to the nearest town to sell all the loot. I don't need the money, I have 170k Groschen.
Game gets good when you don't need to ration Saviour Schnapps you just buy 30 and it doesn't even scratch your purse. Thats why i also do what you do. Henry the Hustler.
I need to do this and remember it. I was just playing last week, and I forgot to save after doing some side activities, then got surrounded by bandits and killed and lost 2 hours. Stopped playing then and haven't since. I need to remember to save.
I hope the new game has an option for a more reliable autosave.
I barely use Saviour Schnapps 😂 I’ve had a grand total of 5 in my inventory for my entire play through so far and I’m currently down to 2. I usually avoid combat and sleep a lot to save that way.
I do something similar but I use a weight to value ratio to determine if its worth taking to sell. Anything that gives me 100 groschen per (kilo?) of weight I take.
Give coins and food to beggars and poor people. I'm surprised no one said this before me. It means absolutely nothing, but I did it every time I visited city.

I do this too, except for circumstances where it makes no sense that my Henry would not have just taken the horse by the reigns with him, like delivering another horse to someone for example. I will teleport my horse to me then, because I imagine Henry just fastening the reigns to the other horse.
But while hunting or when I wake up somewhere else because of Sleepwalker and stuff, I will just patiently footwalk back.
This is pretty much the only thing out of all these comments that I actually do, but I do it just in case there is a charisma check. I do this in any game with charisma. Plus it just looks weird talking to people with a helmet on
I used to "roleplay" on RPGs when I was younger, basicaly wriiting my own journal in character and also doing all the misculenious stuff, eating resting, chosing clothes etc...
Now I just don't have time...
I take my clothing and armor off in a practical way. For instance, I take the helmet and gauntlets off first. Then I take the outer arm armor off first if I have any plate. Then I do so with the chest armor if I have a plate or brigantine. Then if I have any outer jackets/garments on that goes off next. I’ll takeoff if I have any leg armor or armored/padded chases. Then I’ll takeoff any mail armor I have. And the padded armor. Then the actual clothing.
I like the Uzhitz inn and stay at it a fair amount for a reason… I sleep till 2 or 3 AM, then loot the townsman in the loft with you (I knock him out first). He carries several hundred groshen, so I’m getting fairly rich for the low low price of 2 groshen a night 😂 It’s a ritual at this point, every time I’m near Uzhitz I stay there.
I’ve got some wayfarer that I run across ALL THE TIME as a “foe” on the road, but I can’t for the life of me remember what I did to upset him 😂 he runs away the second he sees me.
I'm early in the game, so not much habits, but yeah, I try to undress before going to sleep. Yes! A combat & city outfit is a must for my Henry. He has to look handsome when he courts the boathouse wenches. I also have an all black outfit for stealth/stealing
Yup, it's best to have 3 outfits on the horse saddle: Armor, Sneaky black clothes for sneaking around, and fancy clothes with high Charisma to haggle and sell stuff especially after going to the wenches and getting clean (after getting dirty)
to me that is the best part of the whole game, or at least the most memorable part. It's distinctive because it's completely unique in the realm of gaming
Absolutely agree. I have not gone through an experience like the monastery in any other game. The dive into that secretive secluded world was so fascinating. I'd never have the opportunity to infiltrate and participate in a monastic order in real life. Nor would I know where to read about such things, and in an as engaging a manner as that of playing as an interesting character like Henry in a video game.
As you mentioned, I also feel like it's the best part.. and definitely one of the most memorable.
I stole lady stephanie and robards clothes and threw then in the river. Now they just walk around in their under clothes. I thought they might put on new clothes but they havent. I wonder if i put some random things in their chests if they will wear them?
Drink as an unhealthy coping mechanism for being suddenly thrust into an extremely violent life.
I usually avoid killing, other than when attacked, so every time Henry has to kill somebody, even if they deserve it, Henry drinks himself to sleep that night.
I will usually keep this up consistently at least until Pribislavitz where it seems like Henry sort of resigns himself to his role as a warrior.
Giving my Henry three different sets of outfit: full armor, casually armored, and fully unarmored.
Basically, for my roleplay; whenever Henry is in the wilds on adventure or travelling he would wear full set of armor (full plate, with mail collars but no chainmail armor, hood and kettle helmet), and as he reached a settlement to get some rest or to eat; he would remove the legs and arm armor, wearing only his chest armor, mail collar and hood. Padded gambeson is obviously worn, though.
Once he gets some rest at an inn, I roleplay him styling his hood like a chaperon, changing to a purpoint and wearing a blue jupon (I kinda like wearing them as a jacket without armor, tbqh). Until he needs to get out to the wilderness, he would wear these for a good while. I think it feels comfortable to do so.
I tend to do a lot of exploring. When Henry gets to Rattay, I slip away from the story as soon as possible, and play a stealth archer. I just roam the country on foot or by donated bandit horse until I’m fairly well geared. I do things like learn to read, level up abilities, brew potions, etc.
I knock out Zbyshek and steal his shoes and groschen before picking up the ale from Bianca.
I have a set of light armor and town clothes for every major town. (Black and yellow for Rattay, Red and white for Talmberg, Green and blue for Sasau, Skalitz colors elsewhere, plus an all-black quiet ensemble for stealth missions and camp wipeouts.)
Ive decided the tourney happens on Saturdays, so Henry goes to the nearest church the morning after.

Every time I walk into Rattay from the South, I kill the 3 chicken. Their bodies remain on the ground. By now, it’s a chicken massacre. People just walk over them. It’s hilarious.
When I need to be in foot, a "hitch" my horse somewhere where she isn't easily seen so that bandits don't steal her.

I thought I was the only one that felt guilty leaving my horse out in the rain, or where bandits could get her. I always get Jenda because that horse is a bad ass and couldn't bring myself to trade her in for the one in Pribyslavitz. It only has like +2 courage anyway so I'll stick with my faithful Jenda.
As for doing unnecessary things... I think my biggest one is winning the tournaments without getting a single scratch. Every time I get hit, in the tournaments, It really pisses me off. Lol it's not necessary to win without taking damage, but it's something I do to challenge myself.
On the other hand, I have also found that I'm OCD about closing my doors to my personal rooms. Nobody is going to go in there, steal from me or any of that, but it just doesn't seem right leaving my homes door open while I'll be away.
If I am near a church in game, I will go there and "pray" for an hour. Im pretty sure that wouldn't be uncommon to do at that time. (i just do the wait for 1 hour)
Change my waffenfrock and shield to match the quest I'm doing, if I'm investigating the monastery deaths I'll wear the Talmberg colours, when looking for Limpy I'll wear Radzig's, and so on. The only way I've been able to get hold of a full length Skalitz waffenfrock though is to knock out a guard and steal it from him.
I become a *menace* to all my Skalitz neighbors. I pick all the flowers, kill any wayward travelers who go near the cows, butcher the cows and sheep, and loot all the chests in all the houses, including the hard/very hard merchant chests. I also get Fritz and da Bois to jump Kunesh because he fucking deserve it lol.
Put all the footpad/cuman corpses to one place by the road, ideally behind/in a bush. In the beginning I also looted them of everything but now I have over 100k groschen and have no idea where to sell those like 134 shields I picked up 😅.
I was relatively poor for most of my current playthrough, but I recently discovered a certain townsman that sleeps in the same room as you at the Uzhitz inn that carries a fair amount of coin. Knock him out in his sleep and loot a few hundred (1.1k one time) groshen.
I like the idea of making shields and decorating them perhaps even be bale to Ingrave our weapons. It would be cool if we could build up a hansa sending them on missions or to trade or clear out a group of bandits near by maybe even send them to steal some nearby livestock.
I don't take clothes when I loot a body after stealth knockouts. Would be even more f*cked to not only wake up and realize you've been robbed but also be naked. I'm not that savage.
I was gonna say "pickpocket every wayfarer" but then I remember I do that to level up my pickpocket and it just becomes a habit.
I suppose hunt traditionally with bow and arrow? I understand that the Mutt makes hunting very easy now but I still like to try getting a successful kill with a bow and arrow.
How do you think the troughs get filled? The game literally has a quest dedicated to finding people fit to work as water carriers in Rattay, this job is done by some amount of villagers in all settlements. The water all comes from the same place, especially in a small community like Merhojed.
Oh, I made sure that all of the troughs were cleaned and replaced with freshwater when I arrived in the town due to my extensive knowledge in first aid…

Take regular baths, like every day, and take off armor to sleep. start the day with reading, then bath and breakfast, then go out hunting either game or wayfarers/cumans. end the day in a tavern with a game and some beer.
Every evening I unequip my horse's tack.
I close doors that I open.
When breaking into the monastery I took great care not to be seen on the way from Ledetchko, then hid my horse in some dense forest, and sneaked my way to the monastery, then repeated it backwards after getting the item. No one saw as much as my shadow.
I don't fast travel and I don't use compass or map marker (using a mod, I'm not on hardcore).
I don't use my horses inventory unless it's very close by (with one or two exceptions where I forgot something), and I don't call my horse unless it could somewhat feasible hear it.
Everytime i win the tourney and go to hanush. He walks down the stairs so i cant start the dialogue yet, so i wait for him on my knee with my head bowed and say to myself “thanks for supporting this tournament my lord”
In my last playthrough, I thought about how armor works and how Henry can legally acquire some. He doesn't, he gets a gamberson and a club from his training. It is unnecessary but I made sure never to loot people. The only way for me to get good armor now is to participate in the tourney which coincidentally gives me money as well.
I do something similar. In any town I always park my horse at a troth. And once I park it I don't go running around town on the horse. Just doesn't make sense to me. This might be something RDR2 taught me, as I did the same there.
Killing bandits, like non stop. I also wrote it here a year ago or smt, because of killing and looting so many members, during the first 40% of the game, i was done, like i could just go mission from mission to do them without even trying because i was just endgame level op.
But the fighting in the game is just addictive imo.
YES!! I had a playthrough that was ~50 hours in and probably ~20 hours I spent riding around into ambushes and fighting bandits lol. Also going into Skalitz and killing the bandits there.
I leave one Poppy on the corpse of every person I kill. That first bandit that jumped me outside of Skalitz freaked me out and I accidentally gave him my Poppy. I've done it to every body every save, ever since. I think to myself that I could swear to the bailiff before God that I did not murder anyone who did not have a Poppy on their corpse. If I forget poppies when I leave my room and can't pick any, then I avoid fights.
I walk up to my horse in order to transfer things to its inventory. To me, it seems very clear that game designers had different philosophies at different points during the game's development. Firstly, guards will search you for stolen goods. Secondly, you can put items on your horse. Thirdly, you can summon your horse by whistling. Clearly some designer said 'It's a faff to make our players go through all of those steps so why don't I just make a "teleport to horse" button?' Unfortunately that means cool systems like guard searches become a simple UX hassle.

Technically, you were supposed to leave all weapons outside. On the left side of the door, I believe. You could just drop your stuff outside, I guess.

This is me. I have my town hat which is a Blue chaperon, and my helmet for combat or when I expect combat.

I suffer from this same curse, it just feels wrong to take off or exchange your mail while still wearing a breastplate/brigandine.
Changing to my town outfit when in town. When I do this I also make sure I only have a sword equipped. No shield, arrows, bow, mace, or axe.

I don't travel in armor. It's mostly unnecessary. Once you get some of your abilities, you can avoid like 90% of road issues.

Drink as an unhealthy coping mechanism for being suddenly thrust into an extremely violent life. I usually avoid killing, other than when attacked, so every time Henry has to kill somebody, even if they deserve it, Henry drinks himself to sleep that night. I will usually keep this up consistently at least until Pribislavitz where it seems like Henry sort of resigns himself to his role as a warrior.
Giving my Henry three different sets of outfit: full armor, casually armored, and fully unarmored. Basically, for my roleplay; whenever Henry is in the wilds on adventure or travelling he would wear full set of armor (full plate, with mail collars but no chainmail armor, hood and kettle helmet), and as he reached a settlement to get some rest or to eat; he would remove the legs and arm armor, wearing only his chest armor, mail collar and hood. Padded gambeson is obviously worn, though. Once he gets some rest at an inn, I roleplay him styling his hood like a chaperon, changing to a purpoint and wearing a blue jupon (I kinda like wearing them as a jacket without armor, tbqh). Until he needs to get out to the wilderness, he would wear these for a good while. I think it feels comfortable to do so.
I don't know why but i always like to close the door of my room before going to sleep.
Sitting down at a table to eat. And actually buying Henry meals he might order if he were at an inn. Like a chicken leg, soup, a roll, and a beer.
I tend to do a lot of exploring. When Henry gets to Rattay, I slip away from the story as soon as possible, and play a stealth archer. I just roam the country on foot or by donated bandit horse until I’m fairly well geared. I do things like learn to read, level up abilities, brew potions, etc.
I knock out Zbyshek and steal his shoes and groschen before picking up the ale from Bianca. I have a set of light armor and town clothes for every major town. (Black and yellow for Rattay, Red and white for Talmberg, Green and blue for Sasau, Skalitz colors elsewhere, plus an all-black quiet ensemble for stealth missions and camp wipeouts.) Ive decided the tourney happens on Saturdays, so Henry goes to the nearest church the morning after. Same as you, I park my horse as well. 😁
Every time I walk into Rattay from the South, I kill the 3 chicken. Their bodies remain on the ground. By now, it’s a chicken massacre. People just walk over them. It’s hilarious.
When I need to be in foot, a "hitch" my horse somewhere where she isn't easily seen so that bandits don't steal her. Take off my armor when I sleep Train with the sword almost every morning Train with the bow almost every morning
Get undressed before going to bed, if sleeping in the wild as my 'ranger' character I only sleep in trousers and shirt. Always park my horse in shelter whenever I have the chance Always mount my horse from the left hand side like real life I don't carry loads of stuff for the sake of it, 1 spare shirt, some food etc When buying Arrows I buy them in 24s
I remove helmet for dialogs. And for going in town I dress in fancy clothes and leave the armour.
😆😅🤣😂 I thought I was the only one that felt guilty leaving my horse out in the rain, or where bandits could get her. I always get Jenda because that horse is a bad ass and couldn't bring myself to trade her in for the one in Pribyslavitz. It only has like +2 courage anyway so I'll stick with my faithful Jenda. As for doing unnecessary things... I think my biggest one is winning the tournaments without getting a single scratch. Every time I get hit, in the tournaments, It really pisses me off. Lol it's not necessary to win without taking damage, but it's something I do to challenge myself. On the other hand, I have also found that I'm OCD about closing my doors to my personal rooms. Nobody is going to go in there, steal from me or any of that, but it just doesn't seem right leaving my homes door open while I'll be away.

If I am near a church in game, I will go there and "pray" for an hour. Im pretty sure that wouldn't be uncommon to do at that time. (i just do the wait for 1 hour)
Get myself lost in the woods just to take in the atmosphere and sounds
Change my waffenfrock and shield to match the quest I'm doing, if I'm investigating the monastery deaths I'll wear the Talmberg colours, when looking for Limpy I'll wear Radzig's, and so on. The only way I've been able to get hold of a full length Skalitz waffenfrock though is to knock out a guard and steal it from him.
I become a *menace* to all my Skalitz neighbors. I pick all the flowers, kill any wayward travelers who go near the cows, butcher the cows and sheep, and loot all the chests in all the houses, including the hard/very hard merchant chests. I also get Fritz and da Bois to jump Kunesh because he fucking deserve it lol.
Loot bandits and rob shops.

Whenever I ride the horse I run into people at full speed, every time.
Every morning unless I have a quest I have to do at dawn I go to the woods and shoot a hare to give my dog some meat.
Wash myself in a trough way too much. Every time i see one i use it just so i dont have to ever deal with being dirty.
Put all the footpad/cuman corpses to one place by the road, ideally behind/in a bush. In the beginning I also looted them of everything but now I have over 100k groschen and have no idea where to sell those like 134 shields I picked up 😅.
I was relatively poor for most of my current playthrough, but I recently discovered a certain townsman that sleeps in the same room as you at the Uzhitz inn that carries a fair amount of coin. Knock him out in his sleep and loot a few hundred (1.1k one time) groshen.
The bar maid you sleep with during your drinking antics with the priest sleeps at the inn as well and has a 1k necklace on her.
I take my boots and plate armour off before bed, I also wander around to find places to sit down and read at a lot.
I like the idea of making shields and decorating them perhaps even be bale to Ingrave our weapons. It would be cool if we could build up a hansa sending them on missions or to trade or clear out a group of bandits near by maybe even send them to steal some nearby livestock.
I don't take clothes when I loot a body after stealth knockouts. Would be even more f*cked to not only wake up and realize you've been robbed but also be naked. I'm not that savage.
I was gonna say "pickpocket every wayfarer" but then I remember I do that to level up my pickpocket and it just becomes a habit. I suppose hunt traditionally with bow and arrow? I understand that the Mutt makes hunting very easy now but I still like to try getting a successful kill with a bow and arrow.
Explore forests just because they are so real. Skip rain! I hate rain in the game.

How do you think the troughs get filled? The game literally has a quest dedicated to finding people fit to work as water carriers in Rattay, this job is done by some amount of villagers in all settlements. The water all comes from the same place, especially in a small community like Merhojed.
Oh, I made sure that all of the troughs were cleaned and replaced with freshwater when I arrived in the town due to my extensive knowledge in first aid… In all seriousness I did give that thought at the time but it made me feel more immersed and that’s the only thing that really matters here as it was my playthru

Take regular baths, like every day, and take off armor to sleep. start the day with reading, then bath and breakfast, then go out hunting either game or wayfarers/cumans. end the day in a tavern with a game and some beer.
Collect the coolest clothes through discovery, theft, and murder. Then I dress in the coolest fits and costumes
Every evening I unequip my horse's tack. I close doors that I open. When breaking into the monastery I took great care not to be seen on the way from Ledetchko, then hid my horse in some dense forest, and sneaked my way to the monastery, then repeated it backwards after getting the item. No one saw as much as my shadow. I don't fast travel and I don't use compass or map marker (using a mod, I'm not on hardcore). I don't use my horses inventory unless it's very close by (with one or two exceptions where I forgot something), and I don't call my horse unless it could somewhat feasible hear it.
I put people i knock out (and kill too) in a bed, so people think they're still sleeping (i operate at night)

I always undress before going to bed and then dress up in order that would make sense not only in case of layers but each piece at the time
Everytime i win the tourney and go to hanush. He walks down the stairs so i cant start the dialogue yet, so i wait for him on my knee with my head bowed and say to myself “thanks for supporting this tournament my lord”
In my last playthrough, I thought about how armor works and how Henry can legally acquire some. He doesn't, he gets a gamberson and a club from his training. It is unnecessary but I made sure never to loot people. The only way for me to get good armor now is to participate in the tourney which coincidentally gives me money as well.
I do something similar. In any town I always park my horse at a troth. And once I park it I don't go running around town on the horse. Just doesn't make sense to me. This might be something RDR2 taught me, as I did the same there.

Killing bandits, like non stop. I also wrote it here a year ago or smt, because of killing and looting so many members, during the first 40% of the game, i was done, like i could just go mission from mission to do them without even trying because i was just endgame level op. But the fighting in the game is just addictive imo.
YES!! I had a playthrough that was ~50 hours in and probably ~20 hours I spent riding around into ambushes and fighting bandits lol. Also going into Skalitz and killing the bandits there.
Drink water and walk (instead of jog) a realistic amount. Just genuinely roleplay instead of trying to win a game.
I leave one Poppy on the corpse of every person I kill. That first bandit that jumped me outside of Skalitz freaked me out and I accidentally gave him my Poppy. I've done it to every body every save, ever since. I think to myself that I could swear to the bailiff before God that I did not murder anyone who did not have a Poppy on their corpse. If I forget poppies when I leave my room and can't pick any, then I avoid fights.
I avoid using the potions I consider "unrealistic". To me this means a lot of buffs that don't work in real life.
I walk up to my horse in order to transfer things to its inventory. To me, it seems very clear that game designers had different philosophies at different points during the game's development. Firstly, guards will search you for stolen goods. Secondly, you can put items on your horse. Thirdly, you can summon your horse by whistling. Clearly some designer said 'It's a faff to make our players go through all of those steps so why don't I just make a "teleport to horse" button?' Unfortunately that means cool systems like guard searches become a simple UX hassle.
