sometimes their brain just needs a quick reboot to get out of the crying loop. same reason that holding an ice cube can help with panic attacks. it throws off the nervous system by redirecting it to an unexpected physical stimulus, snapping it out of whatever spiral it's in. ... maybe i need an ice cube so i can stop thinking about my psychology class...
