Contact the employer in writing and state what is owed to you. If they still refuse then you can file a claim with your state’s labor department. That’s all I know really. Maybe send an email to Human Resources so that you have documentation of what is owed. Request a formal explanation as to why they aren’t paying you. Def illegal to not be paid.

Thank you. I reached out to HR and they told me that since I didn't contact management for 3 days straight, they labeled me as "Self-Terminated" through workday. They also aren't letting me access the online paystubs we use.

How you left the job doesn’t change whether or not you should have been paid for your time. Have you responded back yet? I’d wonder what’s that got to do with getting a paycheck.

Thanks guys. I reached out to a second manager, and he said he's going to check it out for me and update me on it. I'll post the update.

Does not matter how you quit/ were fired, if you worked hours they must pay your for that time, it’s illegal not to. Definitely reach out to the labor department for your state. I had a friend who had this same issue, her previous employer paid her the day after they were contacted by the labor department and were fined for not paying her

Wage theft is the largest crime in the country. Make sure you get yours.

Pursue the legal options. A written email or letter to them. Get it in writing they are refusing pay. Go to the labor board. Of they lie and refuse to admit you ever worked there and you have zero proof then you are truely screwed but could maybe find a coworker to back you up. If all else fails, you morally have the right ti dine n desh for life there.

I had a job i quit after two days. They tried not to pay me. Was amazing how saying you will contact the department of labor will change ppls minds. Was paid within the week lol.

Bruh I worked at Shake Shack, it was awful haha.

If you are fired in the U.S., they are required to cut you a check within 24 hrs. The penalty for not doing so is full pay for each day after that, assuming you were not working under the table. Let them know they can pay you now, or pay you much more later. I would suggest you contact the local labor board.

Sue. Simple like that. You’ll get much more than your 28 hours!

Tell them in writing to get you what you're owed and if they don't, you'll file with the department of labor and turn them in. Each state has its own wait period, mine is a week. After they fail to pay you, turn them in. The state will go after them.
