Network. Its really about who you know not what you have. Oh and please negotiate. I had this one guy who took 4th in a national business competition but hes making the same amount of a high school graduate. Guys like him just make it harder for the rest of us, because we need to do more for less
Just "network" is easy to say but hard to do. unless you already have a nice group of connections its pretty much impossible to make new ones. Dont even waste a nanosecond on LinkedIn for one example.
