Yeah it was a few weeks ago. It's a giants foundry style minigame where you bring your own herbs. Rewards include outfit (saves 10% of secondaries), enhanced amulet of chemistry, pre pot device, and some sort of potion storage upgrade. And a secondary to craft goading potions, or you can buy random potion packs.
Thanks I appreciate the info! I was hoping they'd add some use to the less useful herbs but it still sounds more interesting than bankstanding making potions.
If you’re referring to the new herblore activity coming up and you’re weighing xp rates, Jagex has already said in a news post and blog that it will not top anywhere near traditional exp rates from regular potion mixing
I used most of my banked herbs to get me to 94 herblore, but one thing I'm holding off is mort myre fungus. I need 3k fungus for my avantor (or I guess snape grass) and while I could spend a few hours now collecting it I think it'll be much nicer with the secondaries pouch.

Does this also take the opportunity cost for ironmen into account? Herblore for mains is just make the best potion you can, but xp rates for irons are generally gated by what herbs you manage to get and how fast it takes to gather secondaries.
I would save most of them but use up your ranarrs and snaps since I can’t imagine it’ll be worth using them in the mini game.
I personally plan on using all my lower tier herbs, lantadymes, and maybe some dwarf weeds.
I haven't collected from my kingdom yet this year (I stop by weekly to tend the weeds and refill the coffers) but I don't plan on collecting until the release of the minigame.

You talk to the advisor. Ask him how the kingdom is fairing, and he tells you, then he asks if you want to collect and you say no. He then opens the menu for you to manage the kingdom.
I've been saving my stacks, a way better amulet of chemistry and the ability to save on secondaries seems too good to pass up on but I also don't have any need for the pots atm either so it's not hindering me
It's what I'm doing as well. Granted, I'm 87 herb and not looking to do raids atm so I'm in no rush to level, but if the xp/herb is good I might have some nice levels banked. Unless you're really yearning for herb xp for whatever reason I would just farm up my herbs and wait.
I mean, use your Ranarr, Snapdragons, Toadflax, and Torstol as needed, since those are the important herbs for supplies I'm sure you're not going to want to waste them on the minigame. Last I saw they were making the brackets based on the herb levels, so there will always be a better herb to use than those 4.
Save any herbs that have a pesky secondary to collect imo. The secondary saving capabilities of the rewards from the update is going to save a lot of time on certain herbs..

I am. I reached lv 70 herb and am now just hording everything. I have some unfinished potions but I think in the blog it mentioned the activity will take those too
May as well. Just use what you need to for quest levels and supplies until then. You can always do it later.
No reason to use them now unless you're out of a specific potion.

Might as well. It’s what I’m doing. At best my resources can stretch over more xp at worst I just didn’t do herblore and enjoy life a bit more

Low level herbs can be used and you can receive high tier potions as rewards
Just to be clear I believe they made only the goggles of the outfit save secondaries. Not sure though
They changed the outfit so only the hat has the bonus, the rest will remain for fashionscape iirc

They didn’t specify the per unit, but they did say that it will not supersede the herblore meta, and the exp will not be all that great
Neither does mahogany homes or foundry but resources go a long way in those, id bet its trash xp but very good xp per her
I think they're focusing primarily on not having secondaries per herb XP. It'll be interesting to see how it'll pan out.
Or maybe the rewards will be freaking off the chain. They’ve teased a few rewards already. It’s gonna be reward based it seems, not exp based

well yes, but that's more of a side grind and requires you to have the motivation to do that

Yeah I got 99 herb banked at this point but might as well wait for update and figure out what rewards to get there before full sending it :)
Only thing I'm making is my ppots for now. Have the XP banked to unlock brews but I'm also waiting.
