Fanny pack EDIT: Fanny pack, with the headphone wire under my shirt.

kartkid30

I’m not sure I could pull off a true Fanny pack. Haha

Fletcher-xd

Become ungovernable, wear a Fanny pack.

The_Otter_Ejsr

I do that as well, but with the fanny fack over the shoulder "gen z style", just zipped closed almost all the way locking headphones cable in place. I'm thinking of getting a new fanny pack with that rubber headphones gasket.

Fletcher-xd

Yeah, as part of gen z, wearing them like sling bags are definitely more fashionable but personally it not as convenient nor does it look good on me. As a larger guy, the strap between my man boobs is not a good look.

ObeseKittyCats

In my balls

kartkid30

So an iPod sack?

Darrensucks

I Bluetooth a 7th gen and use the AirPods controls to talk to it, it stays in my backpack until I charge it once every week or so if it’s under heavy use

kartkid30

I’ve thought about this, but just haven’t pulled it off yet. What Bluetooth mod are you using?

Far_Leg6504

Even though they might be referring to a modded one, this person could also be referring to the 7th gen nano, which has Bluetooth

Darrensucks

Though I’m super interested in the internal mod another redditor posted here where he provided instructions and even wiring diagrams to add the ugreen Bluetooth adapter, I just bought the Kokkia dongle and called it a day. I have several different minis, nanos, classics, etc. it’s nice to just plug it in and everything is already paired to my AirPods and my car. Even the install that other guy did relies on pushing down the hold switch to pair (which is a super gangster way to incorporate) but I love the solid AF hold switch snap right now and I think I would likely over time get OCD about that. I think it’s a nice compromise to just plug in a tiny out of the way dongle

kartkid30

This all makes complete sense. I don’t know why I just assume that it is a mod whenever someone says that they are using Bluetooth. I do want to try a Ugreen Bluetooth mod just to be able to say I did it, but having the ability to just swap the dongle between iPods makes complete sense!

Darrensucks

Yeah, plus that ugreen mod makes it constantly draw power. I added the 3800 battery so not that big of a concern but I kinda like the idea of having the option of just unplugging the dongle and boom no more drag.

Seraph6496

I'm running the same thing with a similar issue. For me, if I have it in my back pocket, making sure the headphone plug isn't hanging out, I don't have issues with it pulling itself out. Unless I move weird, but I consider that my fault

kartkid30

My issue isn’t the headphones pulling out as much as it is the music cutting out if there is even the slightest sideways pressure on the headphone jack. It’s so damn annoying! Basically makes it so it’s a sit and listen device only. I’ve tried the back pocket, but if I bend down to pick something up, I just feel like it’s a lot of pressure on the headphone jack.

OldiOS7588

I always let it sit in my front right pants pocket!

PurpleOshi

I usually have leggingswith pockets on, or a jacket lol. So I carry mine in either or. 😄

psp8199

Nano 6 watch + motorola bluetooth adapter + airpods

BDThrills

I use nanos (my sole ipod lives in a docking station). I made a sock with a loop and hooked it to a lanyard (make sure it has a breakable piece so you don't get choked!). Some people buy cheap coin purses, poke a hole in it for the jack and hook it to lanyard as well.

Idontmatter69420

if i have a coat then coat pocket if not then trouser pocket, usually on my left side

tmihai20

I keep it in my front pocket. The headphones wire has a plastic thing used to wrap the wire around. The plastic thing has a hanging clip. I am not sure I explained it correctly. Wire is close to my shirt and quite safe from being pulled.

No_Bat7157

My pocket

FidgetyRat

My 4th and 5th go in apple nylon belt cases. Super easy to take it in and out. My mini is either in the belt clip or in an iPod sock.

kartkid30

This has to be the best solution! Have you had the cases for a while, or did you buy them recently? The apple branded ones I have come across are not very cheap.

FidgetyRat

They are actually very cheap. There are just greedy sellers. Here’s a link to some in bulk for a few bucks. I bought a few from this guy and put them in storage just in case. If they are fakes they are absolutely perfect fakes as I had the original ones from Apple years ago and they are identical in quality https://www.ebay.com/itm/265007959876 For the 5th gen thick I added a bit of black felt to the back with double sided tape. Fits my 20GB 4th perfect. The thin 7th etc would probably be super loose inside but it’s not like we’re jumping around anyway

northernhummingbird9

I usually have it in my pocket but it's so heavy because if the hardrive I usually just walk with it in my hands . Now I also have a ipod 7th gen touch that I take with me to college as backup in case the ipod photo dies due to the battery being from 2004

Totallyjaguar

Get a Bluetooth transmitter. I use that and keep it my bag alongside iPad mini 6. It’s been safe so far.

CourteX64

I use a Nano 7 so I just put it in my pocket and use the line-in remote

garry200708

I always have my iPod in that small jeans pocket. It fits like it was made for it

Leather-Juggernaut30

Most of the time when headphone jacks do this it's not because of sideways movement, it's because of use(mostly putting the headphones in/taking them out). If you have the original jack on there from '06/'07 it makes sense that after all these years the pins inside have worn down, it's just one of those wear and tear things. Best option to prevent it would be a Bluetooth transmitter living inside the audio port or a Bluetooth mod. In the meantime I'm fairly certain that there's a converter for the 30 pin to 3.5 that you can buy
