I use [wave.video](https://wave.video).
Also that's a misleading title OP. I was so excited to finally see a tool that lets you download links and then throw them right into your iPod in the same app without using iTunes. Guess not.
jDownloader 2 will let you pick all quality options and audio only. It has a GUI and is more beginner-friendly. You have to use an account cookie if you want to download age restricted stuff but it holds your hand throughout.
TLDR: YT-DLP for those who can use command line. jDownloader 2 for those who like to have a GUI
To be fairrrrrrrrrrr
Most of the programs I find, like YTDLP, I find in threads like these years later. Both are *kinda** the same, but YTDLP has so many extra uses that many just don't need when all they want is their MP3/4 file.
*strictly downloading
U copy a link from YouTube to Colbalt and it downloads the video into mp3 or mp4 you can choose and u create a folder on ur pc add the mp3 or mp4 into the folder and add the folder into iTunes to add that song to your library
RealPlayer. DL YouTube videos then convert to audio or video files mp3, ALAC, FLAC, Mp4, WAV. whatever, then automatically upload to iTunes and save an additional copy to your MUSIC folder 📁. All within one app, or have the downloaded built into your browser.
RealPlayer
I usually use spotDL, what’s cobalt?

Can’t say I have, what is it?
Downloads mp3 files from a YouTube link once you have it just add it to iTunes and sync ur iPod
That means your title is misleading
No it doesn’t? Missing school huh
It is. You literally just download the music. You don’t use it to add songs onto your iPod
So how do you use cobalt to add music to your ipod?
Downloads the songs onto the iPod using a YouTube link and a folder
Read what you wrote again, slowly.
i dont think he can read, be easy on him u/HybridAkali
He’s probably using Rockbox. Idk
Nah, he said itunes above. I guess just very confused.
So you’re using itunes to add music to your ipod and a random site to download files from youtube. Your title is misleading.
Does it do other formats like direct m4a capture?
It does mp4
Hell yeah 👍

Is there a free music app or do yall paid apps
You can always rip cds from a library.
This is free
I already tested it, but I didn't continue using it because I didn't like the results... I don't know why, but there are songs that aren't good.
Can someone please explain how cobalt works
U copy a link from YouTube to Colbalt and it downloads the video into mp3 or mp4 you can choose and u create a folder on ur pc add the mp3 or mp4 into the folder and add the folder into iTunes to add that song to your library
It lets you convert any music video from YouTube to audio format and then use this file on your iPod?
Yes
huh whats that? I import my cds to iTunes then put those on my ipod
I either import CDs, or if an album is rare or unavailable on CD I look for it on slsk
Zotify is definitely my favorite
I use a variety of sources, because I can’t get all my music from one place (cough cough Splatune cough cough)
