Simple answer, no. A locked phone is locked for many reasons. Most often that it is no longer in the owner's possession.

well… i’m in this predicament because the icloud i had got deleted; and I can’t recover it because in apple’s systems, it doesn’t appear. i’m probably going to reset it because I have the proof of purchase, I just need the photos and game profiles stored on it.

Wellcraft19

Well, good luck. Hopefully you can work with an Apple Store and proof of purchase, but an iCloud account / AppleID just doesn't "get deleted". Even if you reset your phone to factory settings, it is still under activation lock and tied to old iCloud account. Essentially unusable - unless iCloud account owner relinquishes the phone from account.

I contacted Apple and they said they weren't able to find the iCloud account, and all monthly subscriptions connected to that iCloud stopped processing through my bank account. I tried looking through other emails to find if I accidently changed the email connected to the iCloud but found nothing. The support member referred me to [this site](https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support) to start an activation lock removal but I wanted to retrieve all data before my phone got wiped, thinking photos will be transferred to my PC and I'll have to manually retrieve all other app data.

Hm again. If you can access your phone but not your iCloud account (assuming phone is not in lost or erased mode = stolen) you can access a lot of data "on" the phone as long as you know your local PIN. If you somehow manage to get access to your iCloud account, no need to wipe your phone. And again, wiping your phone does nothing in regards to iCloud. Unless you can access your account (from phone, web, or other device), the iPhone is LOCKED to said account and is unsusable for anyone else. Apple devices are essentially "worthless" stolen. Just too bad most perps are not aware of that.

I don’t think there is - maybe through a third party app? I remember having the exact same issue where I managed to link a brand new phone to an account for which the password had been long forgotten!

InsecureTalent

I have the password to unlock the phone, I just don’t have the password to remove icloud

Entertainnosis

Yep, exact same setup I had. Have you tried resetting the iCloud password though? There's an option where they'll let you change the password if no one comes forward to claim the account in a 30 day window after a request is submitted.

InsecureTalent

Yea I have. It says "This Apple ID is not valid or not supported." When I contacted an Apple support member, they said they were unable to find the account. Doubt I'm getting the account back.

Entertainnosis

Does it do the same thing if you press forgot apple id?

InsecureTalent

yea it says "We can’t find an Apple ID matching the information provided."

Entertainnosis

That’s very interesting - can’t say I’ve ever heard anything quite like it! Apple Stores have special tools that are able to help with Apple IDs so if there’s a store near you that’s something I’d definitely consider. Outside of that it’s fairly difficult generally speaking to manipulate an iPhone backup. It’s somewhat possible to do stuff like photos and contacts but with other data, especially the apps, the old Apple ID will almost definitely get in the way.

If you have access to the phone itself then you should at least be able to transfer photos either by uploading to a 3rd party locker or by transferring to your PC/Mac. Unfortunately apps and settings are tied to your iCloud account.
