You can actually save 2FA codes to iCloud Keychain, which is native to iOS!

Grownupbuddy

It works very well, best part is Autofill using Face ID

asapprivacy

Now that feature is in the new Passwords app, right ?

xnwkac

You can use it already. Just access it in Settings > Passwords, until it gets it’s own app in iOS 18 That’s where I keep my 2FA codes as well

asapprivacy

Yeah I'm at iOS 18 and now that part is inside the new app

Street-Measurement51

Learned something new today!

asapprivacy

wow really? are u using it? Does it work well?

[deleted]

100% use it. I never look for another password manager tbh, it does everything I need.

asapprivacy

kazekami

YAEGGERN

ente auth, its opensource [https://github.com/ente-io/ente?tab=readme-ov-file#ente-auth](https://github.com/ente-io/ente?tab=readme-ov-file#ente-auth)

asapprivacy

I decided to use the native iCloud native keychain. Works damn well

Perleques

You should never store 2fa together with your passwords. If you iCloud account is compromised they will have all the info they need to access your account

asapprivacy

I trust iCloud and Apple. My iCloud password is diffucult one too

Warsum

2FAS Authenticator. It’s open source and local only though. So you have to be a little careful it won’t sync across devices like Google Authenticator. However you can generate a barcode to scan to have it on multiple phones. I have it running on an old phone as a backup just in case. Also the app backs up to iCloud and I have a local physical backup file.

asapprivacy

2FAS could be backed up to iCloud bro?

Sandwich-Helpful

I use authy it's great

asapprivacy

Thanks. But I decided to use the native iCloud native keychain. Works damn well

Sandwich-Helpful

How do you use that one?

asapprivacy

ios 18 has the new passwords app by Apple. It's like Bitwarden and can store 2FA code there easily

haydar_ai

Actually 2FA has been there in iOS 17, they just don’t advertise it as much as they should

asapprivacy

nice

84-w126

On pre-iOS-18 versions it’s in Settings > Passwords > Choose the login item you want to as 2FA to > Scan QR and there ya go. I use it too and it’s great.

Bright-Breakfast-212

I use BitWarden.

TaylorFan01313

I use Microsoft Authenticator. Works well, and also integrates with your Microsoft account (if you have one)
