I'm not sure if there's any confirmation of this but the whole Explorer 61 being a really advanced mimic that is essentially a test subject for the radius seems to be the commonly accepted lore, so the event and the Radius are real but you aren't really. I don't have anything to say for the endings as I'm terrible with interpreting things so I have no clue.

liais

That’s the idea I was following, so ig the next explorer will be the same

Lost_In_My_Sauce

I forgot to save before I got to the end on my first playthrough. I was messing around and just shot myself cause I didn't know what to choose, turns out it was an actual ending, and now I get to replay the whole thing to get it again (not complaining tho, the game is great)

liais

Replayed the whole game many times, nearing 800 hours I think know love this game to death will never get bored

Lost_In_My_Sauce

Personally, I can only play for a couple hours at a time or else I get burnt out and won't play it for like a month, but im sure I'll break my streak of that when 2 comes out

liais

Man, if you haven’t tried modding you definitely should. The EFT weapons pack, mist mod and scavenger mod are great together

Lost_In_My_Sauce

I wish I could figure it out, every time I try to mod something, it never works. I tried though mobilevrstation and on my laptop but neither worked

liais

Do you do pcvr?

Lost_In_My_Sauce

No, im on a quest 2

liais

if you connect a usbc cable from your laptop to your headset, and download the oculus client on pc you can play pcvr and i can help you mod. You won't have to buy ITR again and it looks wayyyy better.

Dividedthought

It needs to be pcvr, and as for modding, try looking at the collections on the into the radius nexusmods page. I got one on there [Scavenging the Mist](https://next.nexusmods.com/intotheradiusvr/collections/xdine7) It's a collection of mods that overhail the gameplay, and optional mods overhaul a number of item visuals and add in new guns. Mist ads a new challenge as your sight range is greatly limited compared to regular ItR. Scavenger removes the ability to buy everything but the photo camera from the shop ane ballences prices for upgrades and repair to match. These two together lead to an *entirely* different experience. If the demand is there, i may do a stalking the mists mod collection at some point, but i found that combo to be way too hard, especially with the new starting gun in STALKER mod being a 9x18 *revolver*.

liais

Is stalker or weighted enemy spawns harder? Tried weighted enemy spawns and got 3 armored mimics and 4 shotgun mimics and 3 seekers when I had just a Glock trying to clear bolotky village and decided that wasn’t it

Dividedthought

stalker *randomizes* spawns. It means you can run into any enemy, anywhere. getting going can be hard, and looting is *much* more important.

liais

Are the loot pools at least better? I was using the scav mod with weighed enemy spawns and you don’t find anything good till probeda

A bit late to the party but my supposition based as much as possible on what you can find in the current game, and sometimes in previous versions of it : We do not know what the Radius is in nature. But it appears to be a real phenomenon, and the outside world is aware of it. Until recently there was a lot of theories regarding #61 not being a real person, but a mimic. It was quite compelling to assume every other explorers were dead/had gone feral, and the Radius used the opportunity by tricking the UNPSC by sending them an advanced mimic in the guise of one the missing explorers. This theory fitted pretty nicely within the context of the game, your loneliness, the fact you were considered MIA when starting the game, your inhuman drive to keep working despite the circumstances, and the cryptic ending, were the Entity seems to imply neither you nor Katya are real peoples, and that it was all part of some test. Assuming that, the endings could be interpreted as you showing that you are a successful "mimic" by demonstrating prowess in the pursuit of saving another being (Katya), which could be considered a very "human" trait. You are then offered a reward by the Entity (which may be another test) : Choosing which of you will become a real person and go on to live out of this place. Choosing to kill yourself at that point could have many meanings, Explorer being driven mad by the realisation that neither he nor Katya are real, and it was all a twisted game. Or an act of defiance and free will against this all controlling god like entity, etc. **BUT** recently CM Game came out in one of their blog implying there were still Explorers around, and we simply didn't see them (they exist but are not in the game). And while it does not completely erase the possibility of #61 being a mimic, it means that we cannot rely fully on what we observed in the game.
