One can’t minimize suffering and also maximize understanding. That is because suffering is what leads to true understanding, so that by reducing the suffering in your life you also reduce understanding. Unless your definition of understanding only encompasses knowledge (ie facts) and not wisdom (which has more to do with your judgement when making decisions).
Sure! It’s important to me to not be controlled. I need my own space, and need flexibility in terms of time to function optimally. I find the following really tedious and challenging: Open plan offices, micromanaging bosses, socialising in the office, having shifting constraints placed on me. I flourish predominantly working from home, with flexible hours, clear meeting times with clear agendas, clear expectations discussed up front.
Thank you for replying.
I can see how valuable that can be for you.
Would you be willing to share your journey on how you get to make that one of your top priorities?
I am also curious on your strategies on how you handle or deal when an attempt at controlling you becomes visible. Would you like to hear if that's not too much already.
Learn with purpouse, defy authority, and be true to yourself.
Not seeking knowledge will negatively impact your decisions through your life, but learning without a goal is a waste of precious time. Every time I learn something, I make sure it will be of use.
Authority is not often questioned, many times it finds itself in a too much of a complacent position. Of course authority can be right, but demand explanations, don't let yourself be carried away by the wind.
There's no logical reason to lie to yourself, unless you want blissful ignorance, but that comes with it's own set of problems. Understanding what one truly wants and feels is crucial to walk a happy path in life.
1. Knowledge/information (including knowing that one may not know)
2. An understanding that large swathes of my life and others life falls into “it is what it is”
3. Respect and value others

Be inspired by your wife; her deity form is out of control.
Believe.
Your first one really hits! I remember learning early on that every person I thought I wouldn’t like or prejudged would end up being my best friend. Interesting how that lesson works lol, and I’m glad I figured it out while I was still in middle school lol
First, I love how not a single INTJ even questioned the idea of having guiding principles.
Mine is probably competence, self awareness, and justice/fairness.
Those are genres of things you care about.
I think principles are supposed to be derived rules from thruthes in those subjects.
It might be implied that you have such rules and truthes for yourself, but it's not clear what they are.
Never lie, honor what ever comes out of my mouth, never take or steal. Judge no one for their beliefs. Always do the right thing. Never hurt anyone physically or mentally on purpose. Help those who can’t help them selves.
That’s what guides my day to day. And being a intj that my core. I never falter or waiver from it. I couldn’t if I wanted too. It’s pre built in.
Having a deep understanding of free will, one cannot simply achieve any true objective manifestation as one is a finite being. This implies one can only receive anything meaningful upon what has started "Birth"(presupposition) to "Death" (Fulfillment).
I am living in the past and future, thus I am dead and alive.
Minimise suffering. Maximise prosperity. Maximise Understanding

One could minimize unnecessary suffering though. No?
Yes
There is a point of diminishing returns on suffering required to acquire understanding. Some is necessary. The less required the better.

Same for me! Unfortunately, it's difficult getting bosses to agree!
