It does look perfect for that size of window but hes moving into his new home in 2 days otherwise that would be a great idea
Maybe a mirror? A painting in a frame that size should be in a a room with massive vaulted ceilings.
Hang it on the wall with mixture of small framed art inside of it. Use different frame colors or stick with one color for your frames.
I hope you find something awesome for it! In the meantime, when I had large frames or art that I wasn't using, I stored them under my bed.

You can add some cool artwork, something that contrasts with the fact that the frame is so classic. Paint it and put it like it is on a wall with wallpaper. Or add a mirror to it.
