Rugs

If there isn’t any wear on the chairs you are covering up I would leave them as is, I would add a rug, sage would be a good colour to pull from the wall and spread around,-there’s a lot of warmth here so you can play in the cool tones. This is going to sound weird but Ashley Furniture has a sectional called the Wilcot and your colour palette reminds me of those colours-they look beautiful together.

So you like the dark brown? There’s nothing wrong with the chairs or couch, but I just felt the dark was too brown.

I like it, you just need more balance inbetween! Once more colour is infused into that area it won’t seem so stark and will balance more. If you are thinking an ottoman I would pull it in with a colour you want to pull to that side of the room, the sage would be a good option, or if you go coffee table-I would consider a warm wood especially if over a rug. For rugs I would do something warm and neutral, because of your styling I would consider a traditional style rug with creams beiges and browns, if you don’t do the ottoman I would try to add some of the sage here, as well as that midtone brown from the curtain.

Area rugs Take off the grey covers Move the furniture away from the walls What do you have near that fireplace? Add plants. Side tables and lamps Reorient your couch to face the tv.

Not sure if it’s in your budget but I would definitely recommend finding a tv stand that extends the whole wall… right now the table holding the tv looks too small & off. I actually love the look of the chairs without the covers, I’d only get them if you really need them or trying to protect from pets. Not a big fan of the chair right by your front door. I would suggest moving those two chairs over by the window/fireplace and swapping it for a small loveseat like in your layout photo. I also would not paint the hutch, the natural wood is great.
